It's better than getting hurt trying to hold on for dear life. Sometimes you're better off letting go as some riders have been dragged by the reins or stepped on by the horse due to hanging on. Not to mention it can hurt the horse, too. A little "emergency dismount" is fine.

At 0:03 She handled it so good and Actually didn’t fall she Went off.Because she know if she didn’t She would be In serious pain and will be getting attention.As a rider I know how to Get off my horse without the stairs witch is helpful so in case I Feel of falling I get off.

It happened to me as well! I was trotting and my horses bitless bridle came undone, luckily he's really good and just stopped. I didn't even notice what happened until I looked cause I was confused as to why he wouldn't go forward.

I love it when riders pat their horses after a fall and or “graceful dismount” it makes me so happy! I absolutely hate it when people discipline their horses for a fall or mistake they could’ve prevented!!

Can we all agree that 2:37 was the riders fault? They halted the horse right before the jump (you can see in the slomo) so the horse got all confused

1:40 was 100% rider error, in my opinion they were going way too fast for the horse to get proper striding up to the jump, hence the refusal

It’s not that big so it’s fine. Your horse has a scopey jump on it then you’ll be able to just do it in trot, I’ve done chunky xc fences in trot before when I was out eventing
Actually you can if it is that small and most horses break to canter before the jump if it’s bigger
Ive had to walk spreads before bcs if I went any faster than ealk my pony would bolt (at a show)

on the jump at 00:16 - 00:20 if you look closely at the last leg coming down it bends into a break and the horse hobbles up check if you don't believe me and look closely as its partly obscured by the jump in a frame or two.
