i bought it before the rework, so i could test the knife throw mechanic. And man i wish they kept it, even tho the bleeding is pretty cool, knife throw was (i personally think) more reliable and could be used in very different situations. And now with the rework, slasher kind of just feels like an average melee tower with some decent debuff thingy
"decent debuff" doesn't cut it. slasher works best when buffed (like turret) and also kind of relies on medic. But if slasher reaches his full potential, he can deal some very serious damage. the way you use Slasher is unfortunately tied to micro and keeping the bleeding mechanic at max, but oh well it is what it is

Slasher used to be a shotgunner and gladiator combined, now its yet another GENERIC melee critter, they should have kept his knife throw, it made him the only mix tower of melee and range

It can't stun / knockback enemies, has no stun immunity and has a pretty big price. The main issue I have is it's ridiculously expensive price. Not to mention, to use it to its full effect you need at least 5+ maxed out Slashers, which is absurdly expensive for what you're receiving

Idk if you notice but the Bleed effect causes a TON of lag to the point the game is unplayable. I’ve only played it solo and when there’s a ton of enemies, it drops my fps from 120 all the way down to 30. Elite also got the fps drop issue in his Slasher video
Wait that happens for the new version? I know that the original when throwing knifes for some reason caused the server to lag but I had no idea the new one had a similar problem. Although it could be the fact that it has to calculate the heeled for every enemy and makes the server chug because of the amount of calculations (calculating the bleed on a spam wave let’s just say 50 enemys).

Hes primarily a late game tower because he doesn't get good until maxed. I tried spamming level 2 - 3s with him and their impact wasn't noticeable. I don't agree with the prices, if they kept his knife throwing ability I think it would've justified those cost honestly.

Electroshocker is a really good teammate for melee towers like slasher since it'll slow enemies down to a halt right in front of them, mitigating the low range downside!
It wouldve been cooler in my opinion if chainsaw came back bleed wouldve proc more better and knives could make up for its short range. Those were two unique things the other melee towers didnt have like warderns have crits the only unique think to slasher is the bleed debuff
In the past you could solo molten because of the throw knife and like 5 enemy pierce or three? I dont know but for the cheap price and the throw + pierce at max before the rework, I could solo molten, now it just does like 10k to final boss and has trouble against breakers which didnt happen before, i used to be able to place 30 max slashers in u-turn map for molten and that would set it but now its TRASH

An idea for the bleeding effect is instead of doing damage it reduces defense even past 0 to a certain threshhold like -15 defense at max stacks so it does more damage

Seems rather expensive for what it does. Bleed does not seem to be enough to compensate the insane price tag, given that this tower is better used with multiple placed. Some dps towers at the same time would do the same more reliably. It really seems like the most value is in level 0 and 1. Perhaps 2 for the bleed. Anything beyond it seems like a waste of money. You also pretty much need a medic to utilize its maximum potential. Doesn't feel like its that great of a rework. Placing it a very odd spot. I suppose event towers should be kept for niche uses only to avoid dominating meta. Ignoring swarmer which got gutted after its niche use during lunar event chap 2.
For me this is a big nerf compare to how cheap and how much dps the old slasher can dealt, on average old slasher can deal 137,92 (77,92 + 60 if all knives only hit 1 enemies) and up to 257,92 if all knives hit 3 enemies for only 11,5k compare to the 31,8k for only 216.54, it's now a mid-late game dps tower that are not good against major bosses so why would you use it??
