“Just like we rehearsed lads!” implies that Hook has always had this planned, somehow managed to convince Lady Tremaine to get involved, and *KNEW* Hans would piss her off.
I remember thinking back in the first video 'What Goes Around Comes Around' that I could see some flirtatious glances between Lady Tremaine and Captain Hook. Of course we know she won't lower herself to a sea-man, navy, merchant or pirate unless he has a title and some standing amongst the nobility as well, but there's nothing wrong with a slight flirtation that could easily be passed off as common courtesies.
Just to let you know. Pattycake is already working on episode 6. They said it should be done soon. Hopefully before the end of this year. Its very hard and expensive to put together an episode. All the costumes, intricate make-up, getting everyone together that's in the episode as they have other jobs as well. Etc, etc. Tony makes all of the costumes himself without patterns for all of their videos. Voiceplay and Geoff Castellucci have new videos coming out in February. Don't know what they are but by the pictures they posted on their Patreons they're going to amazing as always. Voiceplay is going for the post-apocalyptic look again. Geoff will be playing his piano.
Hans is a memorable villain - but he's still a newbie in the villains business. Plus he was born a prince, he's gotten most of what he wanted no matter how mean his brothers were to him, he hasn't had to work for things as much as the others have.
I think that was in an earlier draft or concept for Aladdin and then it got used in 'Once Upon A Time' and in the live action remake, the idea that like Aladdin, Jafar was once a street urchin. He clawed his way to the top and now that he's at the top - rather than making things easier for those at the bottom, he's using his power to make sure that no one else can climb out so that he won't loose his power. Anyone else who could build a better life for himself is a threat and so must be eliminated before they can eliminate him - even if they have no intention of eliminating him.
They’re almost ready to start filming on the next episode. They are also working on a video similar to Bump In The Night, but with witches. (It will be a big year for witches with another project also featuring witches!). And their Halloween video for this year will feature Geoff Castellucci. It’s already filmed. But with Geoff getting COVID, and then the Chicago concert to prepare for, there just wasn’t time to get it out. This episode should have been out last month, but location shooting caused delays. First just getting dates to shoot, then rain delays. Thank you for always reacting to these, and to Voiceplay and Geoff.
17:59 Well there was something of that in the song Eartha Kitt recorded for an earlier draft of 'The Emperors New Groove' - the story was still in development around then and had a different title though. It's called 'Snuff Out The Light' and has more to do with her perceived rivalry with the sun, and I think was supposed to reference the original idea of her being a sorceress rather than a mad scientist (though without that we'd never get the "secret lab" jokes - both the "pull the lever Kronk" line or the fact that when Kuzco finds out that he's a llama we find out that actually everyone already knows about the "secret lab"). Here if you'd like a listen - plus it gives us an answer to the question Kuzco asked: "What is holding this woman together?" ua-cam.com/video/wbIoa4zA9Vg/v-deo.html Still can't believe they cut an Eartha Kitt song!
4:29 Reference to the 90s live action version of '101 Dalmations' starring Glenn Close as Cruella DeVille - different villain but still works. If you haven't seen it, check it out - and the sequel '102 Dalmations', Glenn Close is a fantastic Cruella in both.
Just to point out. Tremaine did marry for love once. That was the true father of her daughters then she married Cinderella's father for his money. So maybe she was referring to that marriage as her happy marriage.
Jafar's already working his way up to the top - more at stake this time though, the villains are narcissists so they might be taken in but they're not so trusting as the sultan was so they might not be so easily tricked. And they're just as ambitious as he is......hope he knows what he's doing......
5:40 Draco Malfoy reference? At what point did we all start saying either "if I had a dollar for every time he said that...." or "if he says that one more time......."

Great reaction! I'm so glad the series is back!
Yeah, Maleficent knows who Vanessa is, so the second she spots her, she'll turn her and Hans into slugs and have them used as fish bait.
Just to let you know.
