I also realized throughout the majority of the film, Mr. Krabs never acknowledges nor did he paid *ANY* attention to Plankton, along with the fact he never knew that Plankton framed him for "stealing Neptune’s Crown".
Fun Fact: the red fish monster that poses as the ice cream stand is actually a frogfish, a real life fish that lures its prey in using a worm-like appendage that acts as a fishing lure. Stephen Hillenburg said he saw one while scuba diving in Hawaii, which was hiding on a big, yellow sponge coincidentally, and decided to add it into the movie.
Doesn't matter how many times I see it, I still chuckle and sing along with it to this day. I am able to quote alongside nearly every scene of this movie too.
So a fun fact, this movie was supposed to be the end of Spongebob. The creator of the show wanted to do 3 seasons and end it with the movie, hence, why Spongebob became manager at the end. Even though there are many seasons after this, many believe this movie still takes place at the end of the Spongebob timeline since the events of this movie are never brought up again (no Krusty Krab 2, Spongebob isn't manager, etc). I think it's pretty neat :)

I don't know if this has changed in the years since Stephen Hillenburg passed, but according to him, even though SpongeBob has always had a pretty loose continuity that it usually doesn't particularly care about, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie is considered the canonical ending of the series. No episode, special, or even OTHER MOVIE takes place after the events of this movie, even as the series continues to this day. As far as the "SpongeBob Timeline" is concerned, this is the end point. Which makes sense given how it pretty much wraps everything up in a way that would break the dynamics of the original show if it continued (Plankton successfully stealing AND using the secret formula, SpongeBob the manager of his own Krusty Krab, basically all of Bikini Bottom recognizing him as their hero, heck, even Squidward happily acknowledging that SpongeBob deserves the promotion to manager over himself). Also fun fact: Scarlet Johansson is the voice of Mindy, and she was a huge fan of the series. So much so that she even reprises her role in the video game adaptation of this movie.

Ever since I was 7 years old my brother and I always watch this movie from March 7th - 14th, We made it a tradition every year it just makes the movie more special. What we do is... Watch the movie while eating Burgers for ether Lunch or Dinner. Then eating Ice cream with bananas, candy, and chocolate or strawberry syrup with one cherry on top when we get to the "Goofy Goobers" scene. Blow bubbles when it gets too the Thug Tug scene. Put a big piece of lettuce on our upper lip and if NOT lettuce then pieces of green paper with tape stuck to our upper lip when we get to the "Trench scene". Wake up early on March 14th and say "WE'RE LATE! thinking that krabs was going to be fried. After watching the movie we are always playing... "The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie" video game on the PlayStation 2 every year. So Nostalgic. 🤩🍔🍨🎸🎮
Ive always found it funny that plankton got business in this movie, not from selling krabby patties necessarily, but from actually advertising his restaurant instead of having it just sit there.
I can’t lie, Spongebob would’ve been an absolutely legendary series if they did end on the movie. Excellent writing, humor, everything. The choir singing the Spongebob theme in the beginning along with the *iconic* Goofy Goober theme gives me nostalgic goosebumps
A very sad but also kind of cool fact, Stephen Hillenburg loved the ocean and marine life so much that after his passing, his ashes were cast into the ocean. Thank you, Stephen, for the childhood. I hope you have the best aquarium in heaven 💙
I didn’t realize it before until now, but with Mr. Krabs was saying “jackass” under his breath, when SpongeBob was asking, “I’m making a complete what of myself?”.
The frogfish (icecream trap fish) is unironically the best idea for a sea monster. What's a threat to our colorful characters? A natural predator that can actually crawl along. The creator added it to the movie just because he thought the little 2 armed fish creeping along the oceanfloor was so fascinating. "I gotta add this to the movie, it's so fascinating." Somethinf he didnt even know is that frogfish can jump or gallop from danger FAST. Such a fascinating animal and unsirprisingly related to the deep sea angler, which is obvious if you've seen one.
While I unfortunately missed out (really young back then) for this movie, I actually did see the sequel in cinemas. It was definitely a cool experience and I can only imagine how it would've been to see the original there too
Yes it was supposed to end after this but the show was and is the breadwinner of Nickelodeon. So they kept going , there was a big gap between season 3 and 4 because they actually had to create more content
Fun fact the creators of SpongeBob intended this to be the end of the cartoon but since the movie did so good Nickelodeon didn’t let them close down production on the cartoon
A few nice points: 1. Patrick’s obsession with mermaids ended up being a semi-recurring joke. 2. The Goofy Goober Ice Cream may as we’ll be alcoholic. This is the only time we’ve seen these characters flat-out wasted. 3. It’s heavily theorized that Mr. Puff (Mrs. Puff's late ex-husband) is in Shell City. 4. The frog fish is a real creature, luring fish in before CHOMPING down. 5. Despite being a major character in the show, Sandy has a total of 2 lines in this movie. 6. The David Hasselhoff that SpongeBob and Patrick ride back home on is actually a big prop. 7. I love the bag of winds scene. Patrick has that immediate face of “Oh wait, I fucked up.” 8. I got no clue how Plankton got to Sandy, it’s never elaborated on. I’m assuming she was overwhelmed like Squidward. 9. You guys are right. The Neptune in this film and the Neptune in the show are different. No, the show never addresses this. 10. Thomas F. Wilson, the voice actor behind Patrick’s dad, Flatts, the Strangler, etc, is the head honcho of the Thug Tug.
I dont want to say this but , I've been watching your SpongeBob reaction since ep1 and this is my first time knowing you guy's name 😂 Thank u Chance and Jason for the reaction as always !!! ❤
King Neptune on movie is very different from Season 1. The real one is on Season 1 since he used a real magic power. In the movie, he used only the pitch fork.

5:03 This scene literally proves that unless bikini bottom has a different calendar, Spongebob is at LEAST 44 years old at the time of the movie (since he was apparently ~13-15 when he started at the krusty krab) Edit: there's also another episode where squidward gets the award instead. prior to that, spongebob had another 44 awards... soo, he's 47-48 actually.
I just realized, Plankton managed to steal Neptune’s crown like it was nothing, so Mr. Krabs was doing an amazing job protecting the formula.

@RobAndTheBoxClub are you dumb?
20 years later this movie is still awesome
Ahhh doing traditions from a favorite show.. yeah that’s really nice and nostalgic. 😌👌🏻
This movie was and still is ICONIC and yes it was shown in theatres, when I went the seats were packed to the brim
Ive always found it funny that plankton got business in this movie, not from selling krabby patties necessarily, but from actually advertising his restaurant instead of having it just sit there.
374 divided by 12 is 31.16 repeating. That means he has been working there for 31 years and 2 months AT LEAST.
I remember seeing this with my sister back in 2004. Next day I was sick for the week of Thanksgiving. good times
Fun fact: This movie WAS supposed to be the series finale after Season 3.
Please continue with the series! I know a lot of people don’t like the post-movie seasons, but there’s fans who do.
Fact
This movie still makes me emotional
Neptune’s voice changed from his 2 screams, anyone else noticed?
13:47 Neptune Scream
18:15 VA scream
I can’t lie, Spongebob would’ve been an absolutely legendary series if they did end on the movie. Excellent writing, humor, everything.
The choir singing the Spongebob theme in the beginning along with the *iconic* Goofy Goober theme gives me nostalgic goosebumps
A very sad but also kind of cool fact, Stephen Hillenburg loved the ocean and marine life so much that after his passing, his ashes were cast into the ocean. Thank you, Stephen, for the childhood. I hope you have the best aquarium in heaven 💙
10:39 Of so many times watching this move, Mr. Krabs like he saying the word Jackass while whispering.😅😅
The true ending of the Golden Age of SpongeBob!
season 4-5 silver age but yeah
I didn’t realize it before until now, but with Mr. Krabs was saying “jackass” under his breath, when SpongeBob was asking, “I’m making a complete what of myself?”.
36:55 ….There’s always a bigger fish.
45:51 - 45:54 That could not have been more well timed. Classic Rocky and Bullwinkle luck at it’s best.
The frogfish (icecream trap fish) is unironically the best idea for a sea monster. What's a threat to our colorful characters? A natural predator that can actually crawl along.
The creator added it to the movie just because he thought the little 2 armed fish creeping along the oceanfloor was so fascinating.
"I gotta add this to the movie, it's so fascinating."
Somethinf he didnt even know is that frogfish can jump or gallop from danger FAST. Such a fascinating animal and unsirprisingly related to the deep sea angler, which is obvious if you've seen one.
15:38 that triple gooberberry sunrise ice cream looks absolutely delicious 😋
52:48 this joke worked perfectly on yall im crying 😂
The movie did go to theaters.
Yea I remember seeing it in Theaters as a kid
@@edwardjones1482 your lucky man, I couldn’t go see it because I was only one year old.
While I unfortunately missed out (really young back then) for this movie, I actually did see the sequel in cinemas. It was definitely a cool experience and I can only imagine how it would've been to see the original there too
I still find it nuts that Scarlett Johansson voiced Mindy.
She's one of my favorite actors
I love The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie 🍿 forreal and you’re doing a reaction of it.
You guys made the right choice to react to this movie.
This reaction has me crying 😭😭😂 y’all’s reaction to Patrick coming in naked with the flag in his cheeks 😂
A few nice points:
Patrick has that immediate face of “Oh wait, I fucked up.”
11:48 No matter how many times I replay it, I can't watch this without laughing 😅😅 like the old "Once there was an ugly barnacle" scene 😅
The Spongebob Squarepants movie is awesome. Great songs, crazy actions and funniest moments. I'm a Goofy Goober!
🎵🎵🎵🔥🔥🔥🤣🤣🤣
Fun fact this movie is technically the ending of SpongeBob in other words Every single episode after this of the entire series is before this happens
Facts
Even Spongehenge?
@@Masked_Mastermind yeap
@@ananslator3655 How? If you watched that episode then you’d know that doesn’t make any sense lol.
@@Masked_Mastermind Well it is SpongeBob
I dont want to say this but , I've been watching your SpongeBob reaction since ep1 and this is my first time knowing you guy's name 😂
Thank u Chance and Jason for the reaction as always !!! ❤
Mr krabs whispering sounds like he is saying “something something jackass”
Also I could have sworn the sign said by far not by car
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂👉37:00 Patrick’s face!
Yes, this movie went to theaters. I remember going to theaters to see it when it first came out. I was 12.
:) the memories
King Neptune on movie is very different from Season 1. The real one is on Season 1 since he used a real magic power. In the movie, he used only the pitch fork.
I always wondered why they made this Neptune different from the shows
the real neptune returns in season 6
Fun fact this movie was supposed to be the series finale but it was so good the show got renewed and that was the start of the series seasonal rot and the shows fall from grace😔
Get ready guys for the wacky, crazy and funny season 4 of SpongeBob! I can't wait! 🤩🎉🤘👍
Been with you the whole journey guys. Great content and congrats on getting this far!❤
Couldn't have come on a more perfect time. In my opinion this film is absolutely perfect, beyond as a Spongebob film. So glad I could rewatch this journey with y'all. This was absolutely my childhood. Can't wait to stick by for some more beyond the film in season 4
SpongeBob Movie (2004): "You just gotta believe!!!"
Kung Fu Panda (2008): This is the message of the dragon scroll.
matrix 1998 : just believe
So happy you both enjoyed this. It was my childhood and I still watch it every anniversary
Plot Twist:
All the thugs really like the Goofy Goober song. They’re just REALLY insecure.
I watched this in theaters when it came out. The beginning was so hype, I imagined the pirates coming into the theater I was in. I think i might have even looked around to see if there were any pirates in the audience. xD
lol
This is the end of the golden era, a truly spectacular way to end the original run of the series.
Just to let yall now, this is where the show ends canonically.
Everything that happens after this movie takes place before
And there we go. Only spongebob reaction I’d want to see from you guys now is the Spongebob Movie reimagined collab.
6:40 I love that Patrick line so much I made it as one of my sound alerts on my streams 🤣
This movie brings back so many memories. Especially “ocean man” at the end makes me remember the early good days of SpongeBob, will always be my childhood. Even saw this in theaters best experience
5:03
This scene literally proves that unless bikini bottom has a different calendar, Spongebob is at LEAST 44 years old at the time of the movie (since he was apparently ~13-15 when he started at the krusty krab)
Edit: there's also another episode where squidward gets the award instead. prior to that, spongebob had another 44 awards... soo, he's 47-48 actually.
God fucking bless u , you actually did the movie hell yeah
9:15 that scene of SpongeBob and plankton actually made it on the news as another promotion for the movie
3:00 Yes, it has. I remember seeing it in theaters when I was young and came out
We're almost at the 20th years Anniversary of this movie...I remember bringing the dvd home to watch when I was a kid.
