Sounds like me. I mean cmon. Fighting endlessly through, i know what, hell for years just to reach one and only dream-purpose and still didnt hold it in my hands.
The sheer amount of rage it must have taken Terra to coherently exist as the Lingering Will must be staggering. It's probably the only thing keeping him together. That sort of rage is Doom Slayer levels of hate.
Yeah, Xenahort tricked him into using darkness, made him kill his master, Ven got into a coma, his body was taken. I'd be VERY pissed if that happened to me. Especially since I have about 3 or 4 years of anger built up, you bet my ass my armour is gonna stay and make sure it gets revenge. It's also willpower as well, hence why he says "So why does your mind resist!?".
His one motivation to defeat Xehanort had him exist in that armour for over 12 years.
Through it all, he had a will as strong as the earth itself.
Lingering Will is basically Terra's last thought made manifest, beat Xehanort to set things right. That's why Xehanort was so perplexed, he took over his body and corrupted his heart, but the one thing Xehanort couldn't touch was Terra's sheer force of will.

i dont think it really terra himself anymore. i think after the fight with xeno-horn he no longer had control of it but the armor just sort of remained as a side effect of the sort of possession
The cool thing was that Terra did all of this shit on sheer willpower and used a hollow armor suit.
You literally fight the final battle AS the Lingering Will and that makes it feel so amazing.

Mal Luk you can cheese him by using Fenrir and negative combo to constantly perform aerial finishers which stagger him

I've noticed, as I listen to more and more Shimomura songs, that she loves putting a slower violin section over a faster, frantic rhythm section. It's a very noticable part of her battle themes.

Imo, the violin does a huge job in these songs. It's like adding the seasoning to the already delicious steak making it incredible.
it kind of speaks in a way how the best way to defeat these amazing opponents is by staying calm, focused and collected, like the violin parts.

@@Feeling_Like_Karla That was so irritating, I thought I got a combo that worked against LW (basically 3 finishers in a row), and then one of those useless morons (mainly Goofy) would swoop in and mess it up, and since I always thought they were dead and not doing anything, I didn't notice until after I won. Please Disney, don't force them into the next game, make KH4 about the Keyblade Wielders, not the Disney characters.

That's what Chasers was? Was that confirmed? Because if so, that's kind of disappointing. Was still hoping for a payoff on that.
Jordan Cora I'm pretty sure he was referring to when people assumed they wered the Chasers. Far as I know nothing official has come of that particular thread yet.

I believe the term 'Chasers' was to refer to the fact that Terra, Ven, and Aqua were all chasing SOMETHING.
Terra was chasing after Xehanort and power,
Ven was chasing after Terra and friendship (I guess.)
Aqua was chasing after the both of them.
I've looked into it a bit more and apparently the idea was scrapped entirely during development. If theres any remnant of the concept in the current BBS game its probably what you just described, but I'm hesitant to believe its plausible.
Reason being, why would the trio have such an official title if the act of "chasing" something within the game is brought on by unexpected and irregular events?

Even knowing that the Lingering Will doesnt recover its body, doesnt make this fight any less epic. That odd feeling you have when fighting Terranort, for the absurd hope of recovering your body, at least you manage to somewhat prevent Xehanort's victory.

What I love about this boss is the fact that he's different everytime you fight him his moveset changes. I also like that you have to be quick and think with every attack he throws at you your not in control of the fight he is in control you have to wait till hes done attacking you and let him allow you to strike he's a very unique boss and one of the most fun to fight though challenging

@@OrganizationXIII I have I fought him on pro codes Lvl1. Very interesting boss to probably even better than Lingering Will he was very fun and when I died I knew it was my fault and not the game. Yozora is definitely top tier boss design
It’s not just that his move set changes- the RNG seed determines what he does more often than his preset patterns, unlike other fights.

Sephiroth was more busted in the original Kingdom Hearts I than how he is in this. He's the perfect balance of unfair cheap shots and experimentation (not Dark Inferno; he's a goddamn joke) so you can test what he can take a beating from all while defending yourself from unexpected failures.

Sephiroth was more manageable once one got the hang of him.
Even If you understand Lingering Will's patterns, you could still trip frequently against him...

I love how in a series where the idea of Heart, Light and Darkness is so prevalent, this has NOTHING to do with that. This is sheer willpower and unbridled rage
NOBODY can defeat the NOTHINGNESS, as I told you.
And they do NOTHING interesting with this concept in KH3. You essentially have a Darth Vader character of a possessed walking suit of armour… and you treat it like its the lamest shit ever
And I love how important that is to Terra's character as whole.
His heart was gullible, his affinity to the Darkness was strong.
But screwed Xehanort over was thinking that made him weak. His sheer willpower made him a threat to be reckoned with.
The title of this song is "Rage Awakened." I never played any KH game, but judging from the intensity of the Lingering Will boss battle, you cannot tell me they named it that coincidentally.

Technically what's left in there is a lot of hate.
An hate intensifies if that's mostly what's there.
He should be stronger if the hate increases the power compacted over 10 years.
Ben I've always thought of the Lingering Will like a Nobody in the sense that it walks around with a will of its own just like a Nobody, even with the Lingering Will not having a body or heart. So I imagine over those 10 years it has remained in the battlefield where Terra's hate was fully manifested against Master Xehanort in the first place, since the Will is driven by Terra's hate. It has had a lot of time to practice, so that's why it's now stronger.
Ben wouldve been better if we all could use his abilities in the terra final boss
Loved how he came back in KH3. Lingering Will deserved more time to fight alongside Sora and the others. Would have been amazing to see him and Guardian (Terra) combine and help finally take out Terranort and get their body back!

Yeah... everything I've learned. Well, after playing Birth by Sleep & Kingdom Hearts II for 6 months, I've learned not to be aggressive and wait patiently for openings as well as study each opponent like pages of a book.

Managed to beat Lingering Will today… after so many tries. All hail Stitch (also Reflect for blocking LW’s bow that locks your commands to Fall and Escape).
And then I proceeded to beat LW up numerous times with Double Negative Combo for all the rage he awakened in me

The armor was never the intended target Terra was.
***** That's not what he's trying to say. The Lingering Will is the Soul and Will left behind by Terra, that's why it has a mind of it's own. Terra may be fighting on the side of darkness, but his Will, will always fight on the side of light and that is exactly what The Lingering Will, will do.
ScottishSkarmory Yeah But the Lingering Will does not contain Terra's Soul. His Soul lies with Xemnas as the Body and Soul cannot be separated. The Lingering Will is a manifestaion of Terra's Final thoughts of stopping Xehanort and saving his friends. Those thoughts took control of Terra's Armor which we know as the Lingering Will.

I trained my way through every Kingdom Hearts for so long and asked myself again and again if I was as good as a real keyblademaster of that time. Until a real keyblademaster stood in front of me. "Terra's Lingering Will". I knew that at that moment my skills would be measured against the skills of a real master. In the first 3 seconds of the fight I saw the inconspicuous ability of the master to transform his keyblade at his own discretion and with ease... After these 3 seconds silence reigned and I found myself floating in a black sea. I knew from then on that the keybladewar had to be the pure hell tormented by screams.

The solo violin is spectacular and the piece still maintains the force it had originally.
