Japan Day 5: Bamboo Forest, Kobe Beef & Matcha Hunts

Our fifth day in Kyoto began with a now familiar ritual: the quest for the perfect matcha. We started our morning at Starbucks, where the matcha latte far surpassed its UK counterpart in quality and taste.
Fuelled by our successful matcha mission, we headed to Eggs n Things for a hearty breakfast of pancakes and French toast, readying ourselves for the day's adventures.
Our journey took us to the serene Bamboo Forest, a place of tranquillity where we wandered and lost track of time amidst the towering bamboo.
In search of authentic Japanese experiences, we found ourselves back at Kyoto's Teramachi-Dori Street, contemplating a Samurai experience. Deciding against it due to its touristy feel, we instead enjoyed the lively streets of Kyoto, even encountering a street artist with a memorable afro.
The day's culinary highlight was Kobe Beef at Kobe Beef Steak Mouriya Gion. The melt-in-your-mouth quality of the Kobe set menu was a luxurious treat, reminding us why it's renowned worldwide despite the price.
Our exploration continued with another matcha fix at Gong Cha, serendipitously located next to a Candy Apple shop - a sweet double discovery.
An attempt at playing pachinko turned into a humorous mishap as we navigated the game with confusion, ending in a light-hearted loss.
The day concluded with Parm's lucky find at a vending machine: snagging a hologram Pokémon card, a small yet thrilling victory.
