Japan Day 13-14: Shinjuku Nightlife & Home Time

Our last days in Japan were a whirlwind of Tokyo's vibrant street life, last-minute shopping, and a dash to the airport with unexpected twists. After a relaxing start back at our hotel following our visit to Cafe Capybara, our evening kicked off with a delightful find: Pikachu Doughnuts at a local cafe.
As night fell over Shinjuku, we revisited Gong Cha for one last round of matcha-this time, I also indulged in a Mango Smoothie that was simply out of this world. Our shopping spree included a stop at Butter Butler for souvenirs and a visit to a massive store filled with Pokémon cards, where I picked up some classic characters.
Our stroll through Shinjuku was peppered with sights and sounds, from the 3D Shinjuku Cat to street performers and quirky encounters, capturing the essence of Tokyo's eclectic charm. Unfortunately, our quest for more anime treasures was cut short as stores began closing for the night.
We capped off our last evening with some arcade fun, where I snagged first place in Mario Kart, and we all tried our luck at the claw machines. The night was a perfect mix of nostalgia, fun, and the pulsing energy of Tokyo.
Fast forward to 24/11/23, our departure day brought its own drama. In a stroke of luck, after losing my phone, we managed to retrieve it thanks to the helpful cab driver and airport staff-a reminder of the kindness we'd encountered throughout our trip. Daljit treated himself to a bottle of Louis Vuitton Ombre Nomade at a duty-free price, and we all tried to enjoy a final meal at the airport, which unfortunately didn't hit the mark.
As we boarded our plane back to Heathrow, we reflected on our journey-filled with cultural immersions, delicious discoveries, and the unforgettable hustle of Tokyo nights.
