    We have been trying to do this for awhile and could never get the puff to not cover up the outline in spots. Saw the part on moving the foot all the way up and it came out great thanks for a great tip.

    good video i'm trying to fine tune my 2nd attempt at doing puff. in the video John uses the k5kk needles the 80/12 it looks like in one shot and the amazon shot it has the 75/11 and 70/10 which would be best for 3mm foam

    What size rubber bands do you recommend? What is the best bobbin tension for doing Puff?

    My actifeed only goes up to 40. I’m trying to stitch on a new era cap which is really thick and my top thread is stitching so loose. I have my actifeed set to 26. What am I doing wrong? My needle is sharp 90/14. Other caps stitched out great but this brand of cap is giving me trouble because it’s so thick

    What stabilizer did you use for the inside of the hat?

      Get some of those needles, some dense foam, and make some magic.

    I have a Big Red Amaya. Is there anything different you'd do?

    • @MelcoEmbroidery
      @MelcoEmbroidery  2 роки тому

      Hi Laura, good question. Turns out there is quite a bit different and we don’t really support the big red anymore. Consider an upgrade to the EMT16X. Here is the info melco.com/embroidery-articles/melco-emt16x-commercial-embroidery-machine/

    Is there a difference between "db x k5" and "db x k5 kk" needles?

    • @MelcoEmbroidery
      @MelcoEmbroidery  2 роки тому

      The needles are the same overall length, but on the KK needles the shaft it longer and the shank is shorter. This allows thicker material to be sewn. KK needles are a great choice for puff hats.

    Can a design have to much detail or too narrow edges for puff?

    • @MelcoEmbroidery
      @MelcoEmbroidery  2 роки тому

      Yes, we have the best luck with puff satin stitches between 3 and 11MM wide. To thin and there is almost no raised effect.
