Walked in to the AD to buy a Omega since I couldn't find this for a year but my lucky day they had this on display and ready to sell, so that's how I got my first Rolex today🤩🤩

Very elegant and classy watch. Just purchased a 41 white face, crown yellow gold 18k fluted bezel jubilee bracelet.
That is a beautiful watch. I have a 36mm two-tone Datejust with champagne dial. I bought it way back in 1985 so only 36mm was available. I love wearing this watch. Today everyone wants a larger diameter watch but a 36mm Datejust is simply a classic and the look is iconic. I'd say you made a good choice.

And if and when you get fed up with the dial you can always take your pic of scores of other dials when you take it in for a service.
I think you’ve shortchanged the watch score. It can certainly be a daily wear for lots of professions, It can certainly be a sporty watch as it has a perfect movement for this, same as the other professional sporty watches in the Rolex lineup, as long as you don’t mind a few scratches. The dimensions are ideal for your wrist and IMHO for larger wrist sizes. I certainly agree though that it doesn’t represent great value for money new but can be had at reasonably low prices for the quality of such a watch on the used market.

Wow, never saw this motif dial before. I have to say that it is somewhat extravagant and edgy for a classical watch. Rolex started to deviate from the classical patterns? A motif dial that gets eyes busy… hmm…

Finally got this watch coming in on the 3rd… back to watching every video of it lol.
Congrats I got the 41 black dial and paid almost 17k for it. Lucky to get retail in this market I just got fed up with waiting and wanted the watch on my wrist already.
I hope to get this watch in a couple of years, it’s such a nice piece!!!

In my country (singapore) , i went to about 5 rolex ADs recently, they had 0 male datejusts, likely only 1 female datejust available (not even joking). Most of the ADs had empty shelves. I think its particularly bad in asia.
Likewise for patek AD that i went to, 0 watches for sale haha..
The Hour Glass at Ngee Ann City had a good selection of display watches (datejusts) in store. I tried on the two tone in the video but with the golden palm motif dial last weekend. They were happy to put me on the interest list for the steel version with blue dial, but as usual no indication how long the wait would be.
They were a bit pushy for me to but my name down for a two tone too, I don't think it would be so hard to get.
But you are right, the Emporer shop at Wisma Atria had one single man's Rolex in store: a full gold Daydate with diamand baton dial..
Interessting that it makes bezel sounds while winding. Anyway congrats to this nice piece. Fits very well. On my part, even if I could get anyone now, I couldn't even choose. So many variations. Watch score is spot on and down to earth.

I totally agree with ur description and thoughts on the Datejust. Having just recently gotten the 41 Wimbledon in stainless/rose , fluted on jubilee it really is one for catching and throwing the light, the beauty is in its detail and it’s simplicity…opposites in the same piece. I think that’s why it’s such a classic.

You gave it a 5 in the size category. it should be a 10 for your wrist, since this score list is for you, isn't it? If you wanted a 41 , you'd have bought a 41. Am I wrong?

I have a 41 blue dial with fluted bezel. That bezel puts on an incredible light show when the sun hits it, especially while driving.

Hey! When you said yellow gold mean part of the watch is made of gold? Or yellow gold is just a color that Rolex calls it?

brother this is perfect. ive been waiting for this since its release. ive since obtained the turquoise and red op 36 but this one is still yet to have made a presence! so consider yourself lucky to live in a region where this model is appearing within acceptable wait periods! great video and FANTASTIC work on showing it under different lighting. perfect. two tones are the bomb on jubilee and the only two variations and colors it'll lookd good with, is slate grey and champagne textured dial!

Congrats. I’m surprised it’s your most expensive Rolex to date! Last month I got my very first Rolex when I got the call from the AD. I was waiting for two months for my Datejust 41. It’s two tone in the Oyster bracelet with fluted bezel and black diamond dial. It cost me just under £12,000 GBP. The AD has put me on the list for sports models now I have sales history with them. Be careful of hairline scratches especially on the clasp where the shiny gold is.
Did they say how long the wait would be for the sports watch ? I’ve been waiting nearly 2 years now !

The one used in American psycho is actually a seiko quartz that looks identical to the dj36. Enjoy sir. I hope to get one one day. Blue fluted motif is my favourite

TDE, Magnificent watch, it looks absolutely superb and will for a long time. Two Tone Rolexes are timeless classic watches. You should change your rating for Dimensions to 9/10 and Daily usage 8/10 and Value for Money is 8/10 = 82/100. I have a TT Sea Dweller and Sky Dweller amongst others in my Rolex collection - and I love wearing them a lot, and they get a lot of great comments.

Btw, I still don’t understand your watch ratings. How does this score a perfect 10 on “weekend usage” but you scored the Explorer 124270 a 5 or 6. Makes no sense, the Explorer is a far more versatile watch for whatever the weekend brings.
Daily = office life, Sportive Usage = sports, Weekend = parties, dinner & hanging out at the pool :D
