- This is a short video talking about the next step after the k1 visa petition gets approved. The next process after k1 visa approval will focus more on the beneficiary or foreign fiance. This includes taking the k1 visa medical exam, ds 160, paying the visa application fee and scheduling the interview appoint for k1 visa interview. As soon as the k1 visa petition (i-129f petition) gets approved, the beneficiary must start gathering the documents and required needed in preparation for the next steps. The k1 visa applicant should follow the instructions carefully from the eligibility letter sent by the U.S Embassy or Consulate.

My Filipino fiancé visa was approved today! (1/25/2024). It took less time than we were told. Originally we were told it would take 19 months. It ended up only being 15 months.
NBI clearance is required also, plus make sure cenomar document is not out of date..
We started our k-1 September 8th 2023. They issued her visa last week. So basically it took 11 1/2 months.

when the packet gets to the US embassy abroad do they send the instructions on what to do next to the petitioner too? and not just the beneficiary,? i am asking because they dont really send mail like that where my fiance is from and i dont want it to get lost or stolen. i want the instructions sent to my email too (petitioner) thank you!

Hi jolly I just confusing what is the first K1 interview or the filing of petitioners of I-129.
What documents do the beneficiary need to gather in their home country while waiting for NVC since it can take up to a month like what you mentioned.
So I received the email (no letter, no real directions-just links to websites and vague allusions as to what to go look for on websites linked) but my expiration date for approval letter i-797 is happening before the interview so... what do i do? I know that "A consular officer can extend the validity of the petition if it expires before visa processing is completed." but i cannot reach any humans in the manila office at all. I would hate to get 90% done and have to start over because it expires due to the interview happening AFTER the "valid date". Please help. I can't find any clear help online at all with this issue.
Do we have to wait for the packet of instructions email? Everyone knows what the instructions say so why wait. It has been 3 months and nothing. Visa website says my case is ready...

I ended up getting an rfe and I have already responded to it. It was for a passport size photo of myself which I did in fact send with my petition. So I have no idea what happened to the one I sent but I did go ahead and have another photo taken and I sent it in. According to the online case status, they did receive my response to the rfe and they say that the process has resumed. My guess is that it will be sometime in July before I hear anything if nothing else happens. But I do realize the rfe most likely slowed things down. I jus wish I knew what happened to the other passport size photo I sent to them. However, I doubt I will ever find that out. I'm not the only one because I have read recently where many others have received rfe for the same issue, the passport size photo and they also sent one in as well. Makes you wonder what kind of game they are playing at the uscis. But there is nothing we can do but comply with the rfe and hope for the best. So I'm guessing it could be around late June or early July before I hear anything else.
Hello, thank you for sharing an update with your case. This is why I highly encourage everybody to send not just one but two passport photos or make sure that they have extra copies in case USCIS will send an RFE. You are right about people who keeps on getting RFE because of their passport photos. And there are 2 common reasons for this, 1. USCIS actually lost their photos 2. The photos does not follow the correct photo composition. RFE surely does affect the processing times but I hope that you get an update earlier than expected.

If you live outside the Philippines, yes you have to wait because US Embassy operates differently. If you are in the Philippines, you may or may not wait it totally depends on you. As long as your case status is READY at the online CEAC Case tracker, then you can start with your DS 160.

Hello, Fiance Visa is not directly affected by the suspension. However, most of the embassies has cancelled all the visa appointments. In result, applications are all pending until further notice following the Executive Order from Pres.Trump. You dont have to do anything when your case reaches the NVC stage.

I spoke to someone at the embassy late last week and they were still doing paperwork and processing. However they were not taking on any new interviews because they can’t do anything face-to-face. So from my understanding they’re not on hold for this visa they’re just not starting any new ones.

wala pong issue. Basta po gamitin ninyo ang address na siguradong matatanggap niyo ang padala nila.
Hello! In regards to your case number to the NVC. Will that be updated on the USCIS website?
No. The case number will be given to you through a letter from NVC.
If you can't wait for the letter, you can call ahead and ask the NVC hotline customer service for your case number. They will ask for your info and verify your application.

Opo need po ang Police Clearance. Pwede niyo po e.email ang Embassy ng Lebanon sa Pinas to inquire po for police clearance. May UAE countries po kasi like Kuwait na hindi nagrerelease ng clearance pag hindi currently working ang applicant sa country nila so inquire po muna sa Embassy ng Lebanon kung mag issue po sila. Kung hindi po, pwede niyo pong e.inform ang Consul sa interview mo na hindi sila nag e.issue ng clearance. Usually aware po ang Manila Embassy sa countries ba hindi nagbibigay ng Police clearance.
Oooppss not sure if you speak Tagalog but the answer is Yes. You have to get a Police Clearance from Lebanon. You should contact the Embassy of Lebanon in the Philippines through email or call and see if they issue Police Clearance. Some countries like Kuwait do not issue unless the applicant is currently working in their country. Not sure if it is the same way in Lebanon. It would be ideal to reach out to their Embassy first.

No. The President Executive Order did not stop all visas. Only restricted some but not all. Uscis are still accepting k1 petitions but k1 visa interviews are limited at the moment depending on the US Embassy/Consulate location per country.

Pwede niyo na po simulan mag fill up ng ds 160, magbayad ng visa application fee, magpa schedule ng medical at online interview appointment. Magpapadala po ng email o letter ang Manila Embassy sayo. Since suspended po ang U.S Immigration for 60 days, close po ang Manila Embassy so wala po muna kayong option for now but to wait po muna hanggang sa magbukas ulit ang Embassy.

Hi Jolly I do have two more questions on the 2x2 passport photos that is required in the packet. Can they be printed copies on paper or does immigration require actual printed photos on photo paper? Also I know the photos cannot be more than 30 days from when the photo was taken, how would they know the photos were older than 30 days or do they?
Hello, they must be done in a photo studio with a glossy colored paper. Also, the 30 days old rule is according to USCIS requirements. I don't have any knowledge of how they would know but to make it easy for us, we just simply follow what is aked on the instructions.
