Back in my elementary days. I was grade 2 in piano lesson. Know I forgot everything, after learning to play music using only by ear. No more reading piano keynotes. Very bad. I only remember to read the G-clef notes, but the bass clef forgot everything. I have been searching on youtube for the real deal to read piano keynotes. I guess this is the only video here on youtube that teaches the classic piano lesson. Thank you for refreshing my mind.
Thanks for this video I really needed it helped me a lot in beginner band. My class was ahead of on reading rhythms and couldn’t found a great video until I found this one.
I play music by ears. So many times I have tried to read a simple melody or write the ones I composed.. This is the one video that leads me to the way of counting. so great! Its just like someone showed me to write my name. Thankfulness!
Well if this isn't just one of the best and palatable introductions to counting videos on UA-cam I've found to date!! Thank you for sharing and teaching us how to recognize Counting Rhythms i 11minutes!! Wow!! Clear, concise and straight the point along with great video editing and presentation!! Ahh Thank you!! God Bless you from the USA!
This was so informative, I’ve been looking for This break down for months on UA-cam. So glad I came across This. I can’t wait to check out your other videos.
this will take several takes to get the rythms right while clapping..but this technique is helpful to understand how notes are played on each beat, except i still didnt get the what is the use of the lower number of the time signature
The lower number indicates which note is the beat unit. In simple meters the bottom number will be either 2 or 4 which means that the beat unit is either quarter note (4) or half note (2).This is a next step in learning how to count in music but it is a more advanced knowledge so I didn't add it into this introductory video.
Weird how I could barely understand this in 3-4th grade, and I quit, but now I understand everything in one video. Was I stupid or was my teacher incompetent?
I am flattered that you could understand it all in one video! :) These concepts can be hard to grasp when we're younger so it's important that teachers approach them in a way that it's age appropriate.
I had my first Music 1 exam at Santa Monica College and done horrible... Totally confused ith values and beats with rests and notes ith a point to the right. Such rests was my worse exam area.
I’ve learned to play the violin, but there was these incompetent teachers who taught me throughout middle school how to play the violin but not learn properly of the notes or whatnot so I can play it, but idk how to read the notes? Does that make sense? I know how many beats a note have but whenever the teacher asks me what type of note it is I be struggling lol
In dozens of videos, finally someone has made this concept simple to understand. Thanks.
Simple? Ah its hard rather that simpile
This was a very clear instruction on counting rhythms, thank you.

Hi! At 10:53 I noticed that at the top it says 3/4 time signature example, but on the stave it says 4/4. Is this a mistake or did I miss something? 😅
Ah, you're right! Good catch!
Superb Illustrations and explanations, some of the best I've seen. But Please No Background Music, its so unnecessary!!
Thank you! :) I will make sure to keep your comment in my mind when creating more content.
@@MrsMusicalPants i liked the background music, so this just proves that it's subjective and you can do what you think is best😸❤
@@mk14_-. Thank you! I appreciate your comment :)
That one aunt: 2:2
Everyone else: 4:4
At 3:35 what would you call the distance between the quarter note , the rest and the quarter note that comes after it in the 3rd measure?
i luv ur vids
Thx
Thank you.

Do you hold the whole note for the 4 beats? Or play it once for the 1? And wait rtill 2-3-4 is over
You hold it for 4 beats.
How many counts number in this🎵🎵🎵?
