Back in my elementary days. I was grade 2 in piano lesson. Know I forgot everything, after learning to play music using only by ear. No more reading piano keynotes. Very bad. I only remember to read the G-clef notes, but the bass clef forgot everything. I have been searching on youtube for the real deal to read piano keynotes. I guess this is the only video here on youtube that teaches the classic piano lesson. Thank you for refreshing my mind.
I- were learning this in music this makes my life easier!

I was so confused at 8:55 since it said 3-4 time signature, until i realized the actual example had a 4-4 time signature. I'm learning lol
I believe that I made a mistake on one of the slides. I'm sorry to confuse you.
Very good video, I feel like I understood a lot , thanks maam.
Glad it was helpful!
At 3:35 what would you call the distance between the quarter note , the rest and the quarter note that comes after it in the 3rd measure?
Yes yes yes. After watching 3-4 videos finally someone who explains like 5. That helped
This was taught to me in elementary school but this was a wonderful reminder
That's great to hear!
Thanks + Gracias x One Million

Thanks
THANKYOU MA'AM😄😄
Most welcome 😊
Hi! I Really appreciated the way you teach and one thing that love sign (❤) (counting indicator) attracts a lot keep up the good work 💯✌
Weird how I could barely understand this in 3-4th grade, and I quit, but now I understand everything in one video. Was I stupid or was my teacher incompetent?
I am flattered that you could understand it all in one video! :) These concepts can be hard to grasp when we're younger so it's important that teachers approach them in a way that it's age appropriate.

I had my first Music 1 exam at Santa Monica College and done horrible... Totally confused ith values and beats with rests and notes ith a point to the right. Such rests was my worse exam area.
this will take several takes to get the rythms right while clapping..but this technique is helpful to understand how notes are played on each beat, except i still didnt get the what is the use of the lower number of the time signature
The lower number indicates which note is the beat unit. In simple meters the bottom number will be either 2 or 4 which means that the beat unit is either quarter note (4) or half note (2).This is a next step in learning how to count in music but it is a more advanced knowledge so I didn't add it into this introductory video.
@@MrsMusicalPants Thanks

Me too thanks
Ok tysm
Hi! At 10:53 I noticed that at the top it says 3/4 time signature example, but on the stave it says 4/4. Is this a mistake or did I miss something? 😅
Ah, you're right! Good catch!
Hello! Can I copy the part of your lecture that talks about the notes and its rests? I mean that one with the hearts on it. I'm going to use it in my class

Do you hold the whole note for the 4 beats? Or play it once for the 1? And wait rtill 2-3-4 is over
You hold it for 4 beats.

❤Thank you for your help 🎉
Help? help where she did nothing.
She reminds me of a piano teacher I had from Sweden
Maybe it's because of my accent :)
I'm too phylosophical to understand it . I mean I get that the whole
note takes 4 beats , it's clear to me, but when you play the metronome
faster (which we can do lets say 120 beats per minute, then the "whole
note" will be much shorter when I count the beats. So how am I supposed
to know how long it actually is ? or does its length varies according to
the tempo?? I would be really grateful for someone's answer because I'm
determined to learn : D
The whole note's length would vary according to the tempo and the time signature, if the metronome was going very fast, a whole note might start sounding like a half note because of the speed, and a half not might sound like a quarter note as well, because of the tempo. So it really just depends on the time signature and tempo of how fast it's going. Hope this helps :)
@@yleanastanphill8685 of course, it makes sense. I thought There is one fixed whole note length and it made no sense to me
that’s a great explanation!
