The colt that won wasn't tiring, he was being eased up by the jockey. Linebacker did run a heck of a race to get second, he has a distance horse's style of running, but these are all young horses and the majority of them will improve greatly off of this race.
The fact that the horse took a serious side step not far after the wire shows that he was dead tired. Also, the Fact Linebacker had so much trouble, and the fact the jockey stopped riding Linebacker after he passed the rest of the field but before they hit the first turn, the second time around, Linebacker was , at that point, was just being eased up. If Linebacker didn't have so much trouble, including being shut off by the winner and dropped back many lengths. If Linebacker had a good trip, especially at the far turn when being shut-off, Linebacker easily defeats the winner, under wraps!
Those big winning horses that win everything and never lose. It usually ends up that the reason for their wins is because they have a heart twice the size of a normal horse. So instead of having a 4 banger they end up being born with a V8! So it hardly seems fair when you think about it. Secretariat was one of those gifted horses.
@julia190 I agree. If you love the sport, young people have to fall in love with it too, or it very well might die off. I remember screaming for Secretariat, Spectacular Bid, and Foolish Pleasure as a child. Very seldom does the love of horses start when you're an adult.
@ernesthercher5193 Look!! Not even my husband tells me what to do!! I have a father and it's certainly not you!! You men have a bad habit of telling women what to say and how to react and how to feel!! Well?? You found the wrong woman!! So do me a favor?? Don't reply to me again! I bet if a celebrity did the same thing? You wouldn't say a word!!
Horse to watch out of this race is not the winner , but the place horse Linebacker . Broke a bit slow , then after half was stuck on inside behind dead horses , lost all position , then re-rallied . Beat 4 lengths or so , but with clean trip , race much much closer . You could not see the trouble this horse encountered from this replay , especially in backstretch .
Yep, I agree 100% Beat by 4 lengths, but if they go longer he is going right on by this so-called easy winner. Look at the difference between 2 and 3rd. Linebacker was definitely the better horse
Oh man, yes.....Linebacker fought from the very back, I lost him at the end, but to see him come back at 2nd, yes, hes one I'm watching next year and have my 5 dollars ready
Linebacker had much more troubled and will definitely beat this horse with next engagement. Even .ore impressive was the fact the horse was blocked as he was about to go for the lead, went from 4th to 8th because he was shut off on the turn and rallied to 2nd after so much trouble. Linebacker was the best by far.
@@chrishughes9399 10000000000 % Correct ! You could not see backstretch issue from this awful replay . Also broke a little awkward and was last entering 1st turn .Great minds think alike !
@Hill3304 One last thing, the winner, after crossing the wire, took a side step like tired horses to and linebacker was still full of run. I'd be surprised if the winner can do 11/4 derby distance
Why? He was dominant in his win and then appeared in a Kentucky Derby Future Wager and appeared in a Kentucky Derby prep race, therefore went to the Kentucky Derby trail. There’s nothing in the title that is incorrect.
Beautifully bred horses! Congrats to the winner and pkce horses owners and trainers.❤🎉🎉🎉
Tell the kids to shut up.
Oh, stop being a Karen. They were enjoying the race just like everyone else does when cheering on their favorite horse.
for sure, then turn audio off and no kids screaming@@HEMI-MOMMA
Love your coverage as always
Thanks for watching!

I can't say that's not true but I only heard of that once, the great Secretariat winner of the 1973 Triple Crown.
@jeffb5785 Holy Bull the same...as I'm sure others have
@@TheJustjim3333 As I said, I won't say it isn't true because I don't really know for sure but I doubt that it happens a lot.
Sham had a big heart too but obviously not as big as Secretariat’s. Any other year and he would have been phenomenal.
@@lindasmith524 Sham was a very good horse, and yes a year earlier or later he might have dominated.
The 2 horse, Imperial Gun, ridden by Joel Rosario and trained by Steve Asmussen 🎉
I'd really rather hear the announcer than the lady screaming for her horse....
That was a little boy. You don’t usually hear the announcers well when on track
Def agree
Found it heartening hearing little kids so excited about their horses
Tha nk god! American race callers are terrible! @@apharoah12

So beautiful every one!
Thank you AGAIN! Well in my pretend bet I boxed 8-2 for the exacta lol.
When you see this race?? This year's Kentucky Derby is going to be A HOT ONE!! Just Watch!!😊😊
After first two finishers , rest of field was not much .
@Hill3304 That's with any race but I still liked it and that's what counts!! My Opinion!! You have yours, I have mine!!

He seems to have a confidence. He was my pick watching them walk in.
He has excellent breeding as well. I'm not surprised.
Completely agree
Ya he came second but the winner was strong
Time will tell.
❤
Nothing like screaming kids to ruin any audio by the announcer. Awful.
What did you expect from being in the grandstand?
Hard to hear the call and see the action up close. Yelling of fans didn't help.
Winner won it galloping...

@Hill3304 if yiu look at the replay, he was about to go by the winner when he was shut off by the winner

None of these horses greatly impressed me.
Better look at "El Capi".
El Capi is a lot faster than this horse
Wanna buy those kids a present... DUCK TAPE
Pick up the pace! Lol
Very well filmed. Was great, until the woman started yelling during the race. Was trying to hear the announcer and she drowned him out.
The winner Looks like. It could RUN all day. BUILD like a BULL..
12 missed the gate. Horrible ride.
Will not subscribe as the screaming kids kept me from hearing the call.
Why would you expect to hear the call in an on-site vlog? Watch the replay if you want to hear it.
The person that videod this can't help the kids doing that. Geez.
Horse racin’. ……
Afaroa, in Spanish.
Ok.....And.......
Not impressive at all...ran slow
Horse is not good derby horse .maybe older or later in summer
Dumb commentary with public noise.Aussie far outclasses US RACING
Pathetic american racing commentary so far behind the times.
What a deluded title this video has. I'd be embarrassed if I was the channel creator.
