After completion of coastal road phase 1 I think the ridership will increase drastically on this route since the road will completely bypass the congested routes of southern-central Mumbai
I have went to band worli sea link many times and every time I get excited as the feel you get cant be described . The only thing or issue which makes me sad is this 4:35 , the air pollution we have. I wonder how great this would look with better visibility . I hope state government take some serious steps in improving the visibility (or overall air quality) and if they succeed in this then other cities/states can take inspiration and so same
I like many Mumbaikars avoid the BWSL these days as Mahim causeway and Tulsi Pipe road are not that congested(and even during pre-pandemic times). Mumbai's preoccupation with the BWSL has fallen off. It is a good bridge to travel on, but it has not delivered as much as it promised, frankly. The Eastern Freeway has done a lot more for Mumbai than the BWSL. Soon, once all the Metro lines are complete, a lot more people will drive less and less.

Very sceptical about coastal road project. I guess the traffic will be already solved by Mumbai Metro and coastal road project will although make coastal public space beautiful, I don't think it'll help Mumbai in terms of removing congestion. Let's see how it turns out once it's built completely.
India must do what china did. They have 10+ cities with 200+ kms of metro. India needs such metro systems in atleast 10-15 big cities. Only then traffic and pollution can come down.
Coastal road project is waste of money, it's being built based on USA failure model followed in 1960s which is now being removed in many American cities.public transport and following European cities model is the right way
