LOSING My Job ? This Is The Future Of Automatic Ships & Ports
Вставка

- Fully Autonomous Port
Location : Rotterdam - Netherlands
This is the world's first & only port which has Artificial Intelligence Driven vehicles & gantry cranes .
I was in shock and awe with the Port operations as to how smoothly they were conducting the cargo operations without any delays / hassles .
The technology behind this is incredible & could be the future of ships & other ports .
Life at sea in the near future will be governed by autonomous ships & this was a clear example of how it is going to happen .
Maritime sector in the world is pacing up with the changing times & this Port Of Rotterdam ( APM terminals) is a clear example of that .

Your efforts of making video while working as third officer is appreciable. I know how difficult it is to shoot everything and edit, also you are uploading consistently, hats off man♥️
Thank you so much for acknowledging that
@@KaranvirSinghNayyar happy rakhshabandhan in advance
@@KaranvirSinghNayyar sir today in your telegram group aapke assistant ne 1 bnde ko bina mtlb k kick kr diya
Uski koi glti b nahi thi
Very much true ,only we seafarers understand that
All jobs which deck officers can't get into btw there is something called autonomus software engineer - devin , so it won't actually create any jobs just take away
That night time lapse was so satisfying! All the timelapses are pleasing ones! Hats off to your efforts of making such a beautiful vlog while you work simultaneously! Take care brother ❤️
Thank you Devesh
Do share the video as much
@@KaranvirSinghNayyar Surely brother! 😄
dont take your hats off
Thank you for another great vlog. You are tired but you still manage to invite us into your seafarers life and give us informative vlogs. Not only that, you take time to film things and edit them to the KSN high standard. I don’t think machine can replace man power, because what happens when machines break down, they need someone to fix it.
Thank you Sharon for acknowledging that
And you are right !! Not so soon
thanks for sharing the life, works, and experiences of a seafarer, as an aspiring seafarer I always dreamt of working onboard international vessels 👍👍
You are welcome
Another beautiful vlog from Rotterdam harbor, my home country! I have spent many hours sitting by the canal and watching the ships come and go. I watched the development of the Maasvlakte from a wilderness where we would take a small boat across to go pick berries, to the new Rotterdam harbors. Thank you for the wonderful time lapse. Safe sailing to your next port. ❤️
Thank you once again Tina
the only vlogger i watch without skipping a second 🖤
So happy to read that
ua-cam.com/video/8KRT9Ilksb0/v-deo.html
came to know for the first time that there is a port in the world which is fully automated...thanks for educating us with these kind of latest updates..can't wait for the next vlog now
❤️
I am not surprised that port operations are automatic. Nice to see how you set lines to automatic too for tide changes. Good video.
Thank you Stephen
Automation won't steal jobs. It'll create more jobs. Automation need engineers to design, manufacture, install, maintain, programme, operate/control those machines. Only those who don't improve or adopt to new tech will lose their jobs.
I love the thought process there
Automation require engineers not deck officers.
What if they created unmanned ships?
@@ibadansari7637 it is very efficient to have a manned ship. Humans are better at diagnosing and fix mechanical, electrical & electronic & plumbing issues in seas. Can you replace a human with a machine to do anchor or mooring line handling?
I don't thing a fully automated ship will ever be possible. Too many things occur at sea and in ports that need a human to evaluate and make decisions about. I don't think your job is in danger. :)
@@tinacatharinaeden2711 ua-cam.com/video/8KRT9Ilksb0/v-deo.html
*10:32* One ship goes and other comes in and that’s how the life goes on port and everywhere was tha line which everyone felt 🤣✌🏻
Hahah yes Aman
In old days before container ships. Labors used to hold stuff on their backs. Same thing with navigation. Twenty years ago my fellow officers used to navigate ship manually. But still used to be very very happy then now. No technology, no stress. :)
Will I agree
Speaking of Automation or unmanned I feel it may still pose a potential risk in terms of security breach as in hacking or a major shutdown, and that's where manpower have a super advantage. I think ship owners and port authorities will consider this before going completely unmanned. We'll that's just my opinion. And again a great video by you!
I agree with your point
Love how he said "that's how life is on ports...(changes expression) everywhere, that's how life is everywhere"
Absolutely arnav
Woww Karanvir , amazing video buddy. Yaar the more I watch your videos the more impressed I get with your hardwork and dedication ,well done buddy. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you so much Praneet sir
Trying my best
Modernity is good but more modernity is not good at all.
Thank you bro for your information...
Keep it up....
Welcome and I agree
Thats why everytime we are inport of rotterdam thingking how many people control this container trucks...msc team here watching your vlog my friend...maybe in the future they will have robotic stevedores who will tighten the lashing hahaha just kidding
Haha glad to know this
It's a good decision to have autonomous ports but it take time to have automatically running ships by the way nice vlog and the time lapse is so beautiful I really liked it 😘😘
Thank you so much & yes it will take some time
AGV the "truck" carrying the containers from crane to crane is fully automated. Unfortunately Kalmar is no longer manufacturing those large port cranes.
Super advanced port it is! very informative video and also future seemed tough for sailors with this kind of automation
Yes ananya
Same like port of Nagoya in Japan... Driverless container trucks
ETO be like : Automation ?, Ay8.. Ay8 that looks fun😂
😂😂
Great report. Very detailed. Automation can only go so far. There will always be humans in final control. 🇦🇺👍
Thank you rob
Bro please make a video about what are the norms that seafarers have to follow to enter the maritime border of any country I’m eagerly waiting for the video
Okay
@@KaranvirSinghNayyar ❤️
this maybe possible for ports but for merchant navy, i think it will take a long time.
Yup
Those unmanned vehicles and that night 🌃 time lapse was superb
❤️
Another beautiful video from KSN.
it's not possible to have autonomous ship (MASS) till your retirement after Master.
Thank you
That's also true
Wow this insane, great video
I saw your video first time. It's amazing and quite informative especially for who don't have any relation with either traveling through water or Cargo through water. 🙏❤️
Thank you
Hello I appriciate all your effort to give me good video with clear explanation. I started watching your videos 2 days a ago. Very interesting to watch when you explaing with map and navigation tools. I would l ike to request you to show us how unloading and loding part done. Upload lashing check videos too whist at port😎 Former cadet to second officer Maersk. Left sailing . Nice video Dude. Keep it up.
Thank You
Sir , Can you please prepare a video giving full details about your studies and degrees from passing 12th to getting 1st ship
Really Nice video!!! Congrast
Thank you
Yes, We will have autonomous ship but for that LEO system would need to come online...Starlink is live in US & OneWeb will come online in couple of years...
On the ship side, there is traction around digitization like Azipods and Ships are getting connected to the cloud, etc.
BTW that port belongs to Maersk and Singapore port is middle of going autonomous as well. Remote control of Tugs at that port has been successfully.
Thank you so much Apurv for enlightening us with this
It would be fun to see the Bond Store i.e. Slop Chest Room on the new ship, your previous tour of such facility was fascinating.
Will show soon
@karanvir singh nayyar China also has automated ports now ☺️
Shanghai (yangshan) is also a fully automated port...they even have autonomous gantries.
I don't know how did you manage to film it, edit it and present it in a nice way. I can understand how tired you are.
Yap the port is automated but see an automation system will not film and do its job at the same time. Your effort is appreciable
Thank you for acknowledging that
Hi Karan.
Thanks for another video full of enthusiasm and knowledge.
Kindly let us know how do u guys load containers on the ship according to the port of discharge and what are the things that hold containers stable during storm.

Good luck Karan👍
Thank you for a small interview with the 4/E
Really appreciate your hard work and loved this vlog 😘
Thank you Serena
Automation is fine, for a lot of things provided there are humans that are able to intervene should something go wrong. I think the crews are at the optimum size right now. Making crews any smaller would probably create safety issues.
No doubt that it's awesome!!!
❤️ thanks
Amazing bro keep up the good work. :)
beautiful time lapse ⚓💙 thumbs up sir!

Hello, liked your video's. Can you make a video about the fire detection system and fire panel? Looks like its the same brand I do install, program and maintenance on in the Netherlands. Thank You.
I will do that Oscar
Your videos are intresting to watch life of sea
Thank you ❤️
The containers trollies are completely autonomous, and don’t require any remote inputs from a driver or operator.
Thanks for that Nigel
It's to good video sr thanks for making these types of videos for our seafarer thanks a lot sr

Really exciting for the new vlog❤️❤️✨

Unmanned Vehicles is all right but i dont think there will be unmanned ships for the foreseeable future and i am making this statement on the basis of few reasons
Yup I agree too
Woww bro real awesome... Really happy to see that you could cover some information on the other half that's the engine side... Loved the video... Hope we get to sail together in the same ship in the near future... Stay safe and take care bro...

Bro control toh krr rha h n koi cranes ko yaa trolleys ko
The only thing is they are sitting ashore
These cranes are not fully automatic but partial automatic 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Yup we can say that
Not only Rotterdam but Shanghai and Los Angeles are also unmanned .
Thanks for that surya

Awesome video 📷📷📷📷📷
Thank you
I don't think very soon will all be automatic because its a huge change and it will be another decade cause the technology will take time and huge investment. And automation is just getting implemented and that too controlling them requires humans.
Yup I believe so too
Welcome back in NLRTM my friend.. question: no shoretension to moor duo the wind?
Thank you
We had to use manual tension
Amazing vlog brother, loved every part and each second wonderful port and excellent explained about automatic machines, time lapse at last was awesome. Waiting for next vlog😉, be safe and happy ❤️

Oh yes

Thank you ❤️
Good to see you in ship 🚢

Automation will create more educated and qualified jobs. Need more educated pupils. If any problems or failure, must need qualified technicians and engineers. More jobs will be created for manufacturing the automated devices and equipments. So it is good brother.👍👍👍
Amazing one sir!! ❤❣...Sir but they are not fully autonomous ryt....like they might be contrlled by remotes or something so its semi automatic na ?
Semi for now
Always awesome
Thank you
Plz do a video on E/R of your present ship
Will do
Pls show the Captain
Hey Karan... Awesome content 👍
Thank you
Do you anchor while staying at the dock or just use the mooring lines to keep the ship without moving ?
Only moorings
@@KaranvirSinghNayyar ok. Thanks for replying 😃

I think that is automatically sir.
