I don't know, I assume everybody knows this. Don't throw out your vanilla beans just reuse them for the next jar. They are good for several extractions They are good for several extractions
I totally forgot yo mention this! Yes, I reused mine from last year as well! I kept about 1/3 of the vanilla in the jar and then re-topped it with the alcohol. I'v heard you can reuse them quite a number of years!
Goodness Adaline it's years since I've seen you I'm sure you only had two small girls at the time. You were having some personal problems at that time as we all do. Nobody's business but yours. But you were really into your decorating at that time and you were really good. Felt quite jealous to be truthful. What was it you said paint was a renters friend I was always amazed what you could decorate a room. I'm really glad you're still going strong still busy and your husband is still into playing his sports at that time. But I'm glad to see you so happy doing what you do so we'll, don't know how I lost you. Look after yourselves. Till next time.
Loved that you filmed your day in the kitchen. My husband and I love blueberry muffins so I'll have to try your recipe. FYI....love this kind of content. I learn so much each time!! The little hands getting their muffins were so cute!!!❤
Tip for blueberry muffins, zest a lemon and rub the zest into your sugar for the recipe until it smells super lemony and turns a yellow color. Game changer 🎉
First time making beef bone broth this year! With our own cows! Also learned to pressure can and growing rosemary. Little steps but it feels really special❤️
As always, I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I would like to see how you put all of your meal prep things in the fridge. I don't have room for a whole weeks worth. Well, maybe I could rearrange a few things.
I just found your channel. I enjoyed your video. I'm not gluten-free, but I eat plant-based. I recently made pancakes that your family will enjoy using buckwheat flour (despite its name, it's gluten free) and oatmeal flour. Here's how to make them: ½ cup buckwheat groats, ground (You can also use buckwheat flour.) ½ cup oatmeal, ground (You can also use oat flour.) 2 Tablespoons flaxseeds, ground into a meal 2 teaspoons baking powder 6 soft pitted dates 1 Tablespoon black sesame seeds (optional) 1 cup soymilk 1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Using a high speed blender, blend the groats and oatmeal into a flour. Add the flax meal, the baking powder and the dates. Blend until the dates are completely ground into the dry mixture. Set aside. Add 1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar to 1 cup milk to make “buttermilk.” Set aside for 10 minutes to allow it to curdle. Add the vanilla extract to the “buttermilk.” Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Add the black sesame seeds, if using. Stir well. Allow the batter to sit about 10 minutes to thicken before cooking. Heat a skillet/griddle. Spray it with a bit of oil. Add about 1/3 cup batter to the pan. When the bottom of the pancake browns to your liking, flip the pancake to cook the other side.
We just opened a jar of Pear and Roasted Garlic Preserves (from the new Ball book) and it is a new family favourite! Also, you can make vanilla extract (or other extracts) in the instant pot if you didn’t want to wait a year 😊
I just found your channel and have been super inspired! I would love to see a what we eat in a week-type video to know how you utilize your canned/prepped food!!
I bought a pressure canner six years ago, and have been too scared/overwhelmed to open it until last week! I made four batches of chicken stock and canned it, and it was so rewarding to have finally faced my fears! I now have 12 quarts and two pints, and have caught the canning bug! 😆 Beans, potatoes, and chicken soup are next.
This was my first year gardening & canning/preserving on a large scale. It was all so rewarding! So far our favorites have been baked beans, beef stew, salsa, spaghetti sauce. Oooh... and jams...so many favorites!
I'm looking for the link to the item you place on top of container that sucks the air out. I'm hoping to take advantage of the "before black Friday" sale. Thanks!!!!
I’m relatively new to this freezer meal life and have yet to dip my toes into canning but I spent around 2 days making Christmas cookies and freezing the dough raw to be baked closer to Christmas. I work in retail and this will really help me out as Christmas approaches because the hard work is done already
Super great video and as always so inspiring! ❤Thank you for sharing your knowledge, your channel has helped me a lot in homemaking.❤ Take care and God bless from Ontario Canada. ❤🍂🍁🌻🌼
I really love your channel. I am a 55yr old grandma. I would love to make more things healthier but dont know enough about it. I watch you and you make it look so easy. I dont know how to can, but would love too! Any advise on how to even start? What is nutritional yeast and what it is good for? Does it have a taste? I'm going to try those blueberry muffins!
You should get started canning very fun and rewarding! Once you get your collection of jars and equipment needed it will be a blessing. I love making broth from saved onion peels and veggies scraps, or healthy bone broth from bones cooked in crockpot couple days, then canned! Saves so much money for easy, cheep, healthy bone broth! Get you a pressure canner, you will love canning! Also there is water-bath canning I do BOTH water-bath equipment much cheeper! Blessings!
I canned salsa and marinara sauce this year. That’s all I had time for but I’m looking forward to preserving and canning a bigger variety of things next year 😊
Those blueberry muffins look soooo yummy! 🤣you don’t sound dead inside like a comment I read. Lol If you sound different, maybe you’re a tired mama. I do need to try a spaghetti squash. I’ve never eaten spaghetti squash. I enjoy watching people canning, but I freeze everything. I can’t justify the initial cost to start canning.
My favorite thing I canned this year is vegetable soup. I just add some ground beef or leftover roast and it is so good! Good job with all the work you do. I want to get those muffin papers.
Hey hey adaline! Love these videos!❤ they are sooo motivating! I canned a bunch this year but I tried a new recipe for spaghetti sauce that is super versatile so I’m loving that as well as making homemade pizza dough!
The blueberry muffins looked amazing! I wouldn’t have been able to wait til they were cool either😅 This year I oven canned dill pickles, one or two jars at a time, as the tiny cucumbers were ready. 100% seal success, they taste great, and I didn’t have to mess with a water bath for just one or two jars!
I canned zucchini called mock pineapple will put this on my list next year along with zucchini relish i ended up with not enough zucchini imagine that.
I really enjoy your videos. It’s so nice to see good, home cooked recipes that are simple even with different dietary needs. Have you seen the Three Rivers January Pantry Challenge? You would definitely be good at it if you wanted to try it. Her page is Three Rivers Homestead if you are interested. Looking forward to the next video.

Yes this
Ohhh I had no idea! Thank you for sharing!🤗
I thought that was true! Do you know how to know when they are no longer good to reuse?

The children will always remember your time w the homemade meals and the smell of those blueberry muffins. Memories are being made. 🩷🩷🩷

Try the muffins!! One of the best "healthier alternative" recipes I have found!

Thank you.
This is an awesome tip! I need to try this!

I will try this! I’ve been looking for more buckwheat and/or oat recipes! Do you have a bread recipe you love using these flours?
Thank you so much for the recipe! Ive been wanting to dive into trying buckwheat but just havent gotten there yet!
You are amazing, love your ideas ❤
I will have to make those muffins!
I always love your content! You inspire me so much. Hope you and your family are doing well. God bless!
I like using ice cube trays to freeze broth because it makes it easier if you just measure it out.
Hi I’m new I’m from Australia love watching new things thanks for Charing kathy
We just opened a jar of Pear and Roasted Garlic Preserves (from the new Ball book) and it is a new family favourite! Also, you can make vanilla extract (or other extracts) in the instant pot if you didn’t want to wait a year 😊
I just canned some of the Pear and Roasted Garlic Preserve as well. How did you serve it or what did you eat it with?
@@janinadodge2924 I served it on biscuits, crackers, in grilled cheese, as a glaze on pork and mixed in a salad dressing

Yessss! You go! That I a project I have yet to tackle!!

Thanks for the tip!
What blender is that? I love it!
Its from Zwilling 😊
Super great video and as always so inspiring! ❤Thank you for sharing your knowledge, your channel has helped me a lot in homemaking.❤ Take care and God bless from Ontario Canada. ❤🍂🍁🌻🌼
I love spaghetti squash ❤❤❤❤
Meals look yummy.

I dont know how to can, but would love too! Any advise on how to even start? What is nutritional yeast and what it is good for? Does it have a taste? I'm going to try those blueberry muffins!
Nutritional yeast tastes like cheese and is high in vitamins. Great on popcorn and to make a vegan cashew cheese sauce.
You should get started canning very fun and rewarding! Once you get your collection of jars and equipment needed it will be a blessing. Love my group of ladies giving so me amazing answers to this question! Couldn't have said it better myself!
Those muffins look fantastic! I’ve been making oat flour for years and it has such a wonderful taste. Great in cookies.
Do you sprouted, rolled quick? What type is best? Thanks
@@stephaniekasunick4754 I usually will grind quick oats, but honestly I use whatever I have. Even blending bits of this and that.
I canned salsa and marinara sauce this year. That’s all I had time for but I’m looking forward to preserving and canning a bigger variety of things next year 😊
I did marinara for the first this this year! So yummy!

One way to start canning on a budget it to find jars at thrift stores! Ive defiantly had my share of second hand jars! So helpful!
Thanks Adeline. I am going to try the blueberry muffins! 😂
They look beautiful..
Love your videos!
Could you please tell us the size of your Dutch ovens? Which size do you prefer? I am looking for a Christmas gift. Thank you!
It just depends on the size of family your cooking for! Mine is a 7qt
I love the blender you used for the blueberry muffins, what is that brand called?
Zwilling ☺️
My favorite thing I canned this year is vegetable soup. I just add some ground beef or leftover roast and it is so good! Good job with all the work you do. I want to get those muffin papers.
Mmmm what a cleaver idea! Sort of the vegetable soup starter!
I made 3 different types of salsa this past Summer. . .mild, medium, hot. It will go fast this Winter.
We love our salsa too!
Where did you find those canisters and the salt/ pepper dispensers?
On Amazon 😊
Hey hey adaline! Love these videos!❤ they are sooo motivating!
I canned a bunch this year but I tried a new recipe for spaghetti sauce that is super versatile so I’m loving that as well as making homemade pizza dough!
Yes, I decided I'm only doing one "red sauce" to use for everything. I know some people do multiple types, but I prefer a simple approach.
The blueberry muffins looked amazing! I wouldn’t have been able to wait til they were cool either😅
This year I oven canned dill pickles, one or two jars at a time, as the tiny cucumbers were ready. 100% seal success, they taste great, and I didn’t have to mess with a water bath for just one or two jars!
I have tried oven canning once or twice! I bet it would work great for pickles
💜💜💜💜💜
Do you do anything with tofu?
YEARSS ago I did! But now we cut most soy out of our diets 😊
@@AdalineZook thank you so much.
I canned zucchini called mock pineapple will put this on my list next year along with zucchini relish i ended up with not enough zucchini imagine that.
Mmm Ive heard great thing about the mock pineapple! At some point I want to chat about the garden, but I didnt have a great zucchini year either!
