We had one similar in our machine shop at the steel mill, it was a point at the base of a structural member, and the side of the beam got n occasional re-paint, elegant simplicity, nice video Steve, cheers!
What a wonderful device Steve. Such a simple way to check the drills. I do have a very simple drill sharpening device, but I was never sure how accurate it was. This device would give me an easy to check them. Thanks for sharing. Cheers Nobby
Nice, I usually just eyeball the grinds meet somewhere near the centre - they don't stay sharp long enough drilling out steel/stainless enclosures to make much difference anyway!

If you make a fitting with an inverted cone or divot you don't need to put a centre in your drill bits
