You should use a Xacto knife with a swivel blade for cutting nice curves.

Its just a cutting board which you can get in different sizes from any craft shop, Hobbycraft, The Range etc if you're in the UK :-)

I traced the text onto mount board with a stylus (an old pen would do) and then cut it with a craft knife.
