Wish i could listen to old eminem for the first time again
lol, that’s why I watch reactions
This dropped in when I was 14. It's still some of his best work.
Think I was 19 or 20
I wasn’t alive yet it is definitely a classic thoigh
This album solidified ems place in hip hop greatest of all time. Idcidc. Nobody alive raps better than him. 2000 was a time to be alive.
Nobody ever has rapped better.
Ppl sleep on Eminem they say he's washed he will forever be a rap genius
the god who helped us through our own shit through his own raw relatable lyricism
Sleep on Em all yall want, he doesn’t sleep, he doesn’t blink, he doesn’t even nod to the beats, he doesn’t even close his eyes when sneeze.
Im 48 and happy to see this younger generation of reactors taking in greatness
The "shoots up his school" and the "blame it on Marilyn" parts are referencing the Columbine school shooting back in 1999, where the media was blaming the rock artist Marilyn Manson for the actions of the shooters. Idk if you're old enough to recall the event.
Yeah at some point I recall ooh right iirc it was bc coem to think lol of a comedic fg episode where Chris Griffin is wantign to be like MM.. well Marolyn not eminem... just realized they both have two m in their initials.
However I am not quite old enough to have been around at that point in time..
the trench coat mafia was born
And the inner class city line only points out the hypocrisy of the media. As the city has been dealing with drugs and gangs for decades, and rural suburban areas only care about gun violence once it starts affecting them.
Yes sir correct
@@xxfaerietalesxxA bunch of fuckin dorks
White American was Eminems response after the government tried to censor him back in the day. Check it out its one of my favorite em song
🔥
But make sure to watch the video of the song. Otherwise, it's easy to miss the whole meaning
WHITE AMERICAAAA!!!
White America was his response to multiple things, mostly his place in hip-hop as a white artist, the hypocrisy of white america ignoring black artists and not acknowledging hip-hop properly before him and then the targeting of him specifically even though he is just staying true to the genre at the time "Surely hip-hop was never a problem in Harlem, only in Boston
After it bothered the fathers of daughters startin' to blossom" and pretty much stating that freedom of speech was a joke since they censored his explicit album (not once, THREE TIMES, on the song "I'm Back" , "Kim" and "Marshal Mathers" and the things that were censored were a rhyme scheme based around Columbine shooting, the mention of a 4 year old in the Kim horrorcore, and his mother's laywers name, actually not just the name the entire bar was removed.)
I just realized I was 9 when this came out. I had no business rapping this song word for word… but I DID 😂
Nate Diaz used this in his walk out song against Tony Ferguson 2 years ago and the crowd were rapping along to it.
I remember. Legendary!
Watching from France 🇫🇷 Eminem is the goat goat
Watching from Moscow , and think so too xD
The Way I Am has always been my #1 favorite of Ems tbh he said it with his whole chest and meant every word.
Forever will be one of my favorite songs in existence 💯
this mans reaction was the same as ours back in 2001 lmaoo
he’s basically saying if you don’t want your kids ending up ‘like this’ then stop treating your kids like shit
but even farther is that he’s like ‘i’m white and this shit is happening, now you’re worried? now you wanna blame everything except skin color? ok bet, let me point out why this shit is fucked up’
“Rest Again Peacefully” = RAP
wtf how did i never catch that
@@skyt3265 No matter how many listens, there’s always something else hidden away
He’s actually so famous now that he doesn’t leave his house unless he had a whole team of security with him and he can’t just leave his house to do normal activities similar to what happened to Michael Jackson. He talks about being a prisoner in his own home in the song “Fine Line”. It’s really sad.
That song was fire 🔥
There are much worse things: people who aren't even famous and don't stick their nose out the window.
...or people who are neither famous nor make a lot of money and are the target of gossip and slander.
...and people who live in very dangerous places and there are few times when they can go out safely, even without being famous.
@@tabloidefast5890 There's really not. Yeah, he's rich, but he can't do anything with his children alone, he can't just go eat lunch with his daughters without having security around them to keep freaks away. His daughters are constantly being targeted by creeps like MGK just because their dad got famous.
@@tabloidefast5890ok and there’s much worse things than that? Doesn’t make it any less relevant, there’s always someone going through something worse but that doesn’t mean you don’t have empathy for them still
You described his situation so perfectly. But I'm also going to steal it for myself when people want me to leave my house hahah
This is one of his hardest flows ever
Heard this track like million times still get goosebumps the passion and anger just wow
This song is a testament to how off the charts Em’s rapping ability is
Haven't seen the hole reaction but when he said let's let the chorus flow and immediately pauses it after 3 words lol that's what eminem does😅😅
I'm 36 been a eminem fan from day one ..he hit the radio a few times but everytime they shut him down...people can say what they want to but I think it's because his content and lyrics was too much to handle..everyone says he made it because he was white ..NO! He made it because he was different
MTV gave him love..not radio, so you're right. That's why he has his own station..no funk flex freestyle etc.
He made it cuz he was different, real and spoke truth to BS.
the iconic flow
The man’s brilliant. There will never be another like him
Another good reaction man. Few more good ones I’m sure have been mentioned
“Brain Damage “
“97 Bonnie and Clyde”
“ Rock Bottom”
“ I just don’t give a fuck”
“I still don’t give a fuck”
Ngl man fwiw I should be checking the ones besides Rock bottom you mentioned there fww.. lol ngl fwiw am kind of impressed to think the last two ya mention are actual songs but then if Fack is then fwiw ig not tooo suprising.
@@bsanchez3563 yeah all the ones I mentioned are off The Slim Shady Lp. Hopefully he reacts to the full album.
Also, they played plenty of Eminem songs on the radio FYI including this one
Not that much before this song. My name is.. got those pop spins but that is part of what he's saying.
@@michaelpurdon7032 I know but Kezzy said he never heard Em on the radio and he’s been on the radio a lot. He didn’t say “before this song”, he said period!
@@Jamalz1289Henderson-xw5ikI never heard em on the radio either tbh, u wanted to hear him u needed a CD player most the time.
In my country, some songs always played on the radio, but with some words cut.
I remember hearing a lot Cleanin' Out My Closet, Without Me and Just Lose It.
Having lived through all this, I can tell you this man was public enemy number one. He was actually opening eyes and white America was hearing a message they'd never experienced before. Politicians hated him. They tried so hard to shut him down, and it only added fuel to his fire. It woke up masses of people and was a new way for so many to get into hip hop and rap they'd never had before. Parent's were beside themselves. Can't stop the signal.
36 yo here. Enjoying watching the younger generation see the GOAT in action.
A lot of people saying Em gets played on the radio but I think what the chorus really means is a couple of specific stations.
No joke this was the one that got me into Em. This album was his best one and everything was feeding from here. Literally and lyrically the best ever. Who else can ramp with this?
Anyone who says em isn’t in the top 3 all time have just forgotten how crazy talented he is
The label asked him for another My Name Is so he did this… then The Real Shady
Yeah! It immediately triggered rage in him to be asked to do another commercial radio-friendly hit and he says he was only able to make 'The Real Slim Shady' because he got all of this off his chest in 'The Way I Am.'
I believe I was in 7th grade when this album came out, I'm 35 now. What a time to be alive then. I rode the bus to school and this cd and song was on repeat on my Walkman! Still know it word for word and I haven't heard this song in a few years
The funny thing is, the current generation, will be wondering what a Walkman is!
That's not Em, that's Shady.
em is the GOAT!! No cap!!
This is probably his best cadence ever.
Yeah, funny shit is that he just blown up worldwide before this song. The previous single from the same album was The Real Slim Shady which was played on radio stations like hourly... The same with Without Me from 2002. But basically every single of his was played on the radio in those years.
Oh, and this one is from 2000.
They still play those songs on the radio every couple of hours. I work for a dental clinic so the radios always going and they play The Real Slim Shady, Lose Yourself and Without Me every single day and often multiple times a day.
Eminem the best.
This is my fav video of urs bro no cap keep the fire coming
Thanks bro 💪🏾 all heat coming and Ems new album soon 🔥🔥
This was my favorite song by EM when I was a kid.
Ima keep nagging you PLEASE do a reaction to D12 I’ll shit on you !!!! Lol
Must be the explicit one too otherwise not the same
I second that! D12 Shit on you!
This is my ALL TIME FAVORITE song.
Mine to. Nobody alive is better than him rappin
"I'm taking a walk" 🤣 this song is so fire. One of the best Eminem has ever released.
I don't need photos or signature of a celebrity to feel better with myself. I treat all celebrities with respect and give conversation if accepted. My wife will be star struck but I don't care who you are but will respect you for the respect I receive. Thank you, celebrities, for your dedication but please remember it wasn't me ;). You are all great in my eyes!
Released 2000. Probably got that by now. Anyways thank you for the vid. This one has stayed with me and to this day gives me hope to pick my ass up and get at it.
This is an all time fire flow. Love this shit Keezi
What a great review! Keep doing your thing bro
Slim Shady LP listen to that whole album. My mom used to listen to it in the car. That's why we're so fucked up at 30 😂
Great reaction! Should Check out Em's performance of THE REAL SLIM SHADY & THE WAY I AM live at the VMAS 🔥🔥🔥😎👍
Love this song and love your reaction!
Rock stations used to play Eminem. He’s one of the few rappers who truly belongs in the rock and roll hall of fame
Great reaction my guy 🙌🏼🔥
It’s so good
They played em on 100.1 the beat, down here in Louisiana. I was still riding the school bus. So it had to be, 2000, 2001 kinfolk.
This has to be one of my top favorite songs I like from him.
Lyrical genius
You always make my day my friend
So wtf only 20.000 subs, no way..
Appreciate you 🖤💪🏾 and yea we going to get there just gotta keep working 💯
This song came out less than a year after Columbine... The media cooked Em for weeks for blaming parents, but I'll NEVER forget the first time I heard the 2nd verse. It was so raw, so emotional, & a middle finger to the 'proper-whites' of America.. now school shootings are a norm in the US...
That’s my go to song every morning on my way to the university 😂❤ never stopped loving Em
his wordplay/cadence/flow is off the charts simply the goat
COLD WIND BLOWSSS!!!!💪💪💪
one of the greatest hip hop songs ever , no cap
This has been my favorite Em song since it dropped. Any time I was mad, I'd crank this up in my car. Eminem = Greatness
Slim shady was telling the truth legendary song love the video Kezzy stay motivated dream big 1 mill on the way
This was early Em. He was a beast back in that time. He flows and rhymes were fucking crazy.
One of my favorites Eminem's song
bro wtf!!!!!! FIRE!!!!!!
This is one of the most fire songs by Em
funny thing is i remember being 9 years old riding back of my step dads car listening to 97.9 and hearing this song played all the time... looking back on it, its like he called the radio out for not playing him, then this is the only song they played all the time... when the track was brand new... they dont play this now.
Impeccable
My absolute favorite EM song ❤❤
EM Always Spittin 🔥🔥
I heard My Name Is on the radio before the album dropped in early 99. After that, I MIGHT have heard him on the radio, but I'm not certain at all. My Name Is I distinctly remember hearing on the radio and that was only one time. Wanted to hear it again, but didn't get to until the day SSLP dropped months later.
Stan since 99' can still karaoke this and not heard it in years lol
You should watch the video of 5 facts how they tried to cancel Eminem in the early 2000's, it is crazy! It also explains why he feels like this in this masterpiece of a song!
I love this react SO HARD
Certain songs were on the radio at times.
I know a lot of people might disagree but he should be able to walk among us without being constantly bothered. Especially when he was out with hus children. We don't own him, we shouldn't act like we do.
KezzyGang 🫡💯
Eminem-Mosh 🔥🔥
I know of 3 famous soccer players (Belgian internationals) going to have dinner in Spain (you can already guess who some of those 3 might be) at a restaurant. Now, obviously they try to be discreet when the restaurant owner points them out to the entire restaurant. They weren't happy with it as you can imagine.
And yea, it must honestly suck to be that level of famous.
Jr the first thing you do ❤❤
@kezzyboii I think you should do a whole album reaction when he drops the next album.
You gotta dive into his diss tracks. Eminem is the Di Vinci of battle rap
Great reaction i recommand u to react to Alfred theme and these demons 🔥🔥😶
Out now 💪🏾💪🏾
Dude! Eminem dropped a vid "The Death of Slim Shady"!!! You gotta check it out!
finely somebody react to my favorite song and i am whatever u say i am😂🔥 u definitely gotta check out those kind of nights by Eminem
🐐🎤🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
you should check out the award show where he does this and the real slim shady live, its a great video
2000 MMLP was realeset
Im not sure how old you are or where you’re from but every time he dropped an album he had tons of radio play in philly
this might be my favorite Em track.
You gotta do Warning by Eminem, Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon diss
If you haven't checked it out already you'll love "criminal"
I first heard eminem when nickalodeon played the real slim shady music video lol
I'm white and from the south. We didn't all grow up in "white suburbs" and from all of us, we are all tired of dealing with the Caucasians.
I grew up listening to the old Eminem❤❤ I'm in my late thirties. Just like I like Metallica ACDC the twisted sisters Johnny Cash ZZ top
🔥🔥🔥
The only EM song I ever heard on the radio was Not Afraid
Why did I never realize the video for the way I am started off with the intro to Kim
At start was track on album to intro lol
This ain’t Em this is slim shady
My favorite song 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Eminem is the Goat 🐐 🔥
