Good capture, Ziggy. I haven’t seen one of these for a very long time. Thank you for sharing with us my friend. Have a wonderful day and upcoming weekend from Edith & myself 🌵☀️🌼🌸🌺🏜🦋
Only ever seen 1 and that was feeding on a hanging basket in Swanage town centre! I thought it looked very exotic! You get a sense of the size from the wasp nearby.🙂 That music sounded so old but when I looked it was the Mini Vandals. They are clever & versatile! Thanks for saving the moth & butterfly
We've seen 2 or 3 here this year, plus 2 other hawk moths 🙂I've saved a few of the Mini Vandals songs, they're great 😎 I've got a cup ready for helping butterflies out of the houses, even planted out broccoli plants for the caterpillars this year. Ta for watching Diana 😊😊🦋🦋
I’m tempted to tell you (so I will) about a butterfly I saw 2 yrs ago now. I told the local butterfly society but it was so unbelievable.I was alone in the house earlyish in the morning. Opened the patio curtains and there on the pane was a largish butterfly. Well the opening of the curtains set it off and it started to knock itself to pieces against the glass- it was doing itself damage. I immediately started to unlock the door & in so doing got very close to it. So I could easily in those few seconds describe it. I opened the door & off it went. ( I did watch which way it went) So I looked it up & it doesn’t exist! It was like an amalgamation of 2 different butterflies- the bottom wings were black & white and the top ones coloured. I only know the common ones- I just assumed this was 1 of the less known species but no and I have been puzzled ever since! You are 1st person I’ve told ( beside family & the Butterfly Society) Thanks for reading this tome!🦋
@@dianarolph1770 Cor, sounds brill Diana 🙂 No idea what that was, I looked thru my moth book and I looked up migratory butterflies but drew a blank. I saw a huge white one flying around Salisbury a few years back, never worked out what that one was either 😮🦋🦋
Oh ta for reply- never told anyone before as it sounds so strange but I know you are into wild life etc. & it niggles at me. You feel you have to tell someone so thanks.Totally inexplicable. It makes me feel better just to know someone has had a similar experience re strange butterflies🦋
Aaaww 😊
Cheers Danny, he was a good moth 😊😊🦋🦋
