I've met Richard twice, both times at Genesis tribute concerts. He was happy to chat, and still loves listening to the music. I bought two copies of his book, and he happily autographed both books. I'm pleased to have met him. Nice bloke.
Great read! Not just the Genesis stuff but Richard's career and real estate choices...Courier, squat in Frestonia...trust me, it was nothing like Surrey in the 70's. Just loved it. Thank you.
Being a huge Genesis fan, I went through your book quite quickly (two times as a matter of fact). Excellent work showing the unknown side of the band and their progression. I was amazed at the work you did all the while in the shadows. Altogether, a must for any Genesis afficionado. Thanks Rich!!
I'm reading it now, Richard! I can't put it down! I have to say that I wasn't too interested in this period of the band's beginnings until your book became available and I purchased it. It's a fascinating History! You know these guys a lot better than other people do. Your musings on Ant offer amazing insight into someone who set the margins for turning Genesis into the progressive band they became (for a while, a long while) before they broke out of it and into the mainstream. The mainstream? Hmmmm. Not the kind of history I much care for when reading about one of my favorite bands, EVER! You've painted a picture of a group of young guys aspiring to become something great for the rest of us to understand! You are certainly not as gushy as Armando Gallo (bless his heart) so this is just as viable, albeit an alternative take. Your story with them is magnificent! Thank you for this!
That story he is telling about Peter with the radio mike not able to get in the venue during Waiting For The Big One [hence the title, LOL] I've read in the papers at that time. Great story.
I remember watching Pete do the stunt Richard was referring to in 1977 at Sheffield City Hall, he walked right around the front row of the first balcony while singing, could have been disastrous!
Thanks. Looking forward to it. There appears to be a glitch when Richard is referring to the dedication on the live album. The audio drops for a few seconds. Still great to hear the stories though.
Visions of Angels
RIP Richard

Looking forward to Richard's stories. Quite the storyteller.
I bought the electronic version of the book and enjoyed it enormously - I will re-read it again soon too!
Rockin'! Thanks, Richard!

I thought HE'D DIED to when I read that dedication.

I hope more material of Anon (which was Anthony Phillips's early band (pre-Genesis)) gets rediscovered.
