- Getting the Fast-Hitch C36 Disc Ready for the Field! How to repair a farm disc. How to repair boxing bearings on an antique disc. #farmallfanatic #farmall #antiquetractors
Farmall fanatic you should have traveled to Lancaster for the sale today. We got a few sets of 9 bolt hubs reasonable and you could have bought that 1026 hydro in pretty nice shape, strong hydro
How much did the 1026 go for
@@FarmallFanatic I'll email you the screenshot of my watchlist. We were out of service area during the bulk of the sale. The MFD 1456 brought 55,250 + commission
15,750 for the 1026
Yeah that's a good price if it's what you say it was
Go to harbor frieght and buy a set of the cheep wobble joint extensions. The part where the socket fits is necked down to allow the socket to move around. I even use them with a air impact. The next video we make I will show the extensions. We have a fast hitch dual disk breaker for a super C or 200. The advantage over a breaking plow is it will not catch on rocks ,roots & stumps etc. it simply rolls over any obstruction.
I have a set o these wobble extension bars an don't know how I survived before I got them 😂👍
Now that would be cool to have.. Truthfully I might have a wobble joint extension in the tool shed lol
It's one of those things you use about once a year but nice to have
Had to use heat and a long extension with universal end and a impact gun on mine, had two housing and spindle bearing total ruined. those bearing take a lot grease, some farmers hook those old disc harrows to a 3 pts with down pressure and bust those bearing housing..
Yeah there's actually a pin that you pull so that the disk floats
C,s are light in the front end
And I do have wheel weights
Pretty sure I’ve learned more since I’ve found your channel in past few months than in previous years
You’ll get it straight here on this channel! Farmall Fanatic explains things where everyone can understand! Feel free to share the videos! Have a great night Paul!
Welcome aboard...it can get pretty weird here lol
@@FarmallFanatic Lmao!!
@@FarmallFanatic nothing wrong with that, helps me keep my ole H running
@@pauljackson3847 👊
The same size is almost always used as duals. Usually with a lot less pressure.
Which makes em different size lol
Good thing u have wheel weights on the front
😊😊😊Thanks for sharing.
Long extension with a wobble joint should make it much easier......in the future
My experience has shown that running the same size tire as a dual generates the best traction and least compaction. When one tire is always slipping that causes compaction and binding when driving. We switched a tractor from unequal tire diameters to equal and noticed the tractor rolled in the field much better. On older tractors we ran half tire pressure on the dual. Modern tractors don't need always follow this.
I figured as much
Yes you would be correct on that and you saved me from having to say it lol Having done tillage for years and they are all the same size. The reason the New tractors went to adding front duals was for Power Hop and for more front ballast with the High Torque they make. On our New Magnums we can run 8-10 lbs per tire for most jobs .
@@AJmx2702001 I'm just going to see what they look like
@@FarmallFanatic Well i think those rims your duals are on look the same as what my 1086 uses which they were Made By DMI if yours are the same
@@AJmx2702001 very thick steel
Farmall fanatic " fantastic " !
Duals should be same as tire on tractor. Run a little less pressure than main tires.
I just want to see what these look like on there and show why you run the same size tire
I want one of those to go behind our 230!
I just lost a bid yesterday on one
@@FarmallFanatic my dad and I went to an auction 30 years ago just for a fast hitch disk and maybe a disk plow. Both were well worn and dad passed on both...I think the disk went for $125.
I just had this conversation with somebody yesterday how it's better to buy them already in good shape than it is to have to rebuild them
@@FarmallFanatic I guess, but it was a challenge 30 years ago to find fast hitch equipment that wasn't used up and/or hacked up and welded beyond repair. People can come up with lots of creative ways to abandon common sense in the use of farm equipment.
Having some nice weather in Pa, brother.💪💥
I can't wait till it becomes consistent
You didn't need to drill out the holes. All you needed to do was loosen up the bracket a little bit and swing it enough to get the bolts in and tighten it all down again. Drilling it out is going to give you trouble down the road. I've changed several of them over the years and ran into the same problem you are having.
So something that is 4" wide will fit through holes that are 3" wide
@@FarmallFanatic it looked like the holes were off side to side and not front to back. If they are off front to back then yes you will have to change one hole. I would use one of the original holes and only change one.
That's the plan 👌
I use to hate fixing disc’s! Time or two I’d get pissed off and change em all with new bearing! Get it tore down and create a mess! Lol!!! I’ll talk to you on messenger later in the week!
Right on
I use to love “ getting dirty “ like that … now I lawn chair supervised . …LOL
ps try using PB Blaster , I swear this works like a wonder lube for rusty joints and bolts others use Kroil penetrating oil not a big fan unless I need to tap threads . Trust me WD 40 is water displacement lube and really not made for this type of repairs.
Blaster would have been my next move, but would have required me walking to the barn 😳
@@FarmallFanatic I get it energy conservation … lol.
Yeah you said you needed help I know how that is I worked on several disc.My help is me my self and I.Booooom💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
Same lol
I already used the punch to line it up
It's just a different size I'll drill it out
Good job on the video
Ha Ha, Disco Duck! I remember that one.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA 🤣
Yea I know and C,s are still light
Beautiful super C. Ya got there . Hello from Minnesota
Hello Gino that came apart easy. I dont if the inside was loose but that may give you some movement in order to get the bolts in. Just a ideal maybe help. Maybe you have all together now. Have a good evening.
I still have to get a couple of disks and then I go to the next gang
@@FarmallFanatic I have a 12ft white disc and there tell me the disc are on back order cause this covid poo
I have a 9A 9-ft drag disc here that my grandfather bought new and it says done a pile of work it is not our main disc but we still use it. I don't suppose that the New larger ones would carry the load for those pool style bearings but I always thought that those were pretty slick very little to wear out all you got to do is keep pack full of grease. My big one only had it four years and I've changed her three bearings in it already that's reasonable but they still don't stand up like those old school type bearings
Only downfall is they eat a lot of grease
Yes be lots fun Farmall Fanitic :) also challenging to get same like originally made to and interesting too!
Nice video, like your Super C
Thank you
Hey bud a line up bar from the bottom and ease the disk down will get you close enough to start a bolt
No the holes on the bracket don't lineup with the bearing
@@FarmallFanaticyea I was just saying I been in your shoes being the only one around and a set of line up bars saved my keester many times...keep em comin 💪🏻🇺🇸
Did you get your parts through Agri Supply and do you think those same bearing caps and spool would work on a old 15 foot single gang. My cap part numbers are PA4150 and PA4149, I am not sure what the spool number is and the Spacer number is 4131.
I had to shorten my spacers for the wider bearings to work
@@FarmallFanatic awesome, thank you I'm actually going to tear it apart tomorrow since some disc's need to be replaced and measure everything out
Always something! But that's the whole fun of it! 😉 Awe, you're having fun with it!
It is a lil fun lol
I had just thought to myself that it would be easier to lift it up, then you hooked it to the tractor. Definitely would have been better with a 2nd set of hands. Part 2.. 💥👍🍻
My extra one snd 211 plow went up the road on Sunday along with my extra spreader fenders. 😒
What pulled the 211
@@FarmallFanatic super c. It had small points
I see where the "Grease worms" have been on that brg.
Yep
Always interestin to see different approaches to tractor set up from different countries 🤔 over here 🏴 we always run duals the exact same size but the outers at lower pressure 🤔👍 nice little set of discs there should make a good job once you have them tuned up💪 an of course Red Power 💥 pullin them 👍
Here too, I just want to see how they look
"Some modification may be required"
Ahahahahahahaha 🤣 good ol universal fit
Little bit of a struggle with those disks. Even tho that bearing is supposed to be the same new stuff is always different. It’ll be good to get we done.
Yeah once I'm done putting the elbow grease into it I'm never selling it
Feed truck...........You are lucky the Pierz Co-Op feed truck delivers to your farm.
Pierz must be about 90 miles away.
We have a Co-Op less than a mile away

💥Super C💥 getting ready to go!
All my bearings on my fast hitch disc look like your old one you took off yeah I don't see how they broke them all either
Tons of rocks and high speed
Like I said yesterday, nothing goes smoothly with “antique “ equipment. Adapt and improvise, like farmers have pretty much always done. Save the oxygen on the blue wrench, might need it later. Like your military days, if the attack is going as planned you have walked into an ambush. Adapt!
Lima Charlie
Well go. Get some one to help ya that’s my thoughts lol
I was teaching YOU
Can’t wait to see the super C in action 💥💥
Me too
Hello from Kentucky my friend
Hello Amanda...hope all is well!
It amazes me how many pieces of equipment now days come with sealed bearings. I can't stand that.
Me either
Anyone know what model number disk is one size up from that? Mine has a slightly larger frame and 7 disks per gang.
The larger prong is a 136
Thanks Farmall Fanatic, it got me curious watching the video about yours and I got to looking online and I found one picture of what they called a 336 and it looks just like it. Just looked up the 136 and it looks like it too. I guess all the models could have different widths maybe? Thanks for the help!
Yea.. I'd like an 8 footer
Farmall Fanatic I love this one, it has followed me around many rounds through the fields! It came with a 300u my daddy had 45 years ago,.He traded the 300 for a diesel 504U and built brackets and converted the disk to three point.
Where did you get the bearing shells?
Ebay
@@FarmallFanatic Was it a one a done site?
Could you provide the sellers name / site name?
Typical aftermarket parts 🤣 Can't wait to see the C in the field!
Nothing is right 😳
Might fit parts. They might fit, they might not.
