I like the fact that they are testing all sorts of vehicles, not only one type. Rebeca, you've come a long way since your first review! keep up the good work :)
By the way, have you ever heard about SECURING THE LOAD? That is something you have to do in all kind of freight or cargo vehicles. Thats the way you make sure the stuffs doesnt fly away when you drive fast. If you wanna cover the cargo from weather, just put a cover on it, if the regular load is not tall, then get a cargo bed cover or camper. Dude, this type of small Pick Up Trucks are more common and popular around the world than you think. An F-150 is great, but not for all missions.
I just test drove the 3.2 turbo wildtrack in the UK, the noise of the engine is abit loud but the sound of the turbo spooling up makes up for it, soft smooth ride, i love ford always have and to be honest they are able to build better now than 10 years ago
The imperial (UK) gallon is defined as 4.54609 litres. The US gallon is 3.785411784 litres and is legally defined as 231 cubic inches. So the mileage numbers will be much higher on UK car reviews when compared to numbers stated in US car reviews since the UK gallon is larger.
Here in the States, we consider the Ranger to be a small truck - the average truck where I am here in Texas is a 1/2 class Ford, Chevrolet, or Dodge 4 door short bed truck which makes a Ranger look tiny. Our F-150's come with a 360HP/380 Lb-Ft 5.0L V-8 or a 6.2L V8 with 411HP/434 Lb-Ft. Even the Base model 3.7L V-6 delivers 302HP/278 Lb-Ft.
Well it looks like my next truck will have to be a Tacoma since America has abandoned the compact truck and this truck will never come to the US. Not to mention this thing is almost as big as an F150 anyway. Of course I plan on keeping my 09 Ranger at least another five to ten years so we'll have to see what's around then.
***** I sure hope so but with the amount of F150's that Ford sells there is really no incentive to do so. To me even the new Canyon/Colorado leans toward full-size a little too much. I sure do hope GM did a lot to improve the quality of these over the previous generation. Only time will tell. If they did then I would consider buying one of those as well. I bought a light duty truck on purpose. I've owned a couple half tons in the past. My Ranger does everything I need it to and I don't have everyone and their brother asking me to help move or haul a load of sheet rock for them.
My apologies ....I stand corrected ! Anyway I was lucky enough to drive this and it really does pull like a train . It beats the crap out of my Merc van in that department.Taking delivery of one in a few days. By the way does this also mean a UK pint is bigger than a US pint
shes so cute! but funny that she says that thing is hard to park, come to north america and see the big f350, then you'll park that tiny little truck with ease
Come to Europe and see the width of our roads and parking spaces. Our cities were planned and build before America was discovered. It doesn't leave room for a whole lot.
MikeDunn The old city centers of some of Europe's capitals were laid out by the Romans. America was discovered in 1492, but your cities were founded much later and in many cases in a time where horse and buggy transport was taken into consideration. It is difficult to upgrade a city by widening the space between buildings, especially if said buildings are considered worth preserving.
No idea why I'm responding to this but oh well, it's actually been argued that it's safer to have your dominant side in control of the steering, brake and watching the oncoming traffic. So some including me would argue it's the other way round, but i would rather just be ready to take someone out with a lance if need be.
sorry to disappoint you but a gallon is a gallon . The same here as in the States and that mpg is combined . You'd probably get 40 on a run if you're not too heavy on the throttle
I would love to see her take a King Cab Long bed dually into one of those car parks she mentioned. Good looking truck... hope they bring it back to the States.. was a shame they quit making it. I think we could use at least ONE small pickup over here.
So they did stop making the Ford Ranger here in the states? But you know, the Ford Ranger in this video looks like the Ford Explorer that we have here, what is the deal with that. And the Ford Ranger in this video defeats the purpose of what earlier Ford Rangers were built for, Utility.
Please make a test for Pick-ups and utility vehicles to see how much stuff fits in the trunk, such as a scooter/motorcycle/furniture piece and so on fit test.
You stated the rear seats are 1.good for adults taller than 6'2" tall but then in another vehicle you state its great for average size hight adults ...so what is average size ? 2.you stated the center is only good for kids yet you fit there perfect. 3.what are dashes made of on all vehicles? Plastic I'm guessing since it is on my honda ridgeline, my friends vw and friends tacoma and tundra and frontiers ect...
It's fine. Iv'e never driven a Ford Ranger, but I have driven a Expedition. I just don't like the way fords put the power to the ground I guess. I'm not sure on that pint, I just know that the gallons are different because I love cars! :)
Joshua Johnson Because of the F150. That thing is the best selling vehicle in North America, and if Ford offerd this in the U.S, that might be afraid of Hurting the Sales of the F series Trucks.
No, an imperial gallon is larger. And our EPA testing is more realistic than their testing. The Toyota Prius is rated at over 72 mpg average using the NEDC testing. Do you really think most US Prius owners average 72+mpg?
Love reading all the american comments about how big there trucks are, and how small this is. Maybe they forget that we don't generally have a massive amount of room on the UK roads, and our parking areas can be tight to park a normal hatchback in. Must admit, I like the F150, and absolutely love the sound from the V8's in the US, but I would be more than happy to park this in my driveway. Looks mean enough to mean business in the UK. Only thing letting it down is the fuel consumption only being around the 30mpg mark.
Nice arms! Nice truck too, but y'know, just saying. :-] I'm unsure if Ford will be using this for the new Ranger here in the USA; as of a few months ago, it seemed to be an unsure proposition. I like it, though, so I hope they do.
What would you recommend? This New Ford Ranger, 2012 Toyota Hilux, D-Max Isuzu, Nissan Navara, or Mitsubishi L200 or rather Strada??? Please everybody, I need your opinion. Thanks!
so you do own a "truck"? as if anyone outside the us would call it truck. tell me what do you transport that a station wagon couldn't and how often do you need it so that a transporter would be to much? how do you make the transport off your tons of stuff save so it doesn't fly away when you drive fast or what do you do so it doesn't get wet when it rains?
If I'd only I known that it came with with serious guns! Yeah they're hot, but is that a bad thing? It has a nice shape around the rear end and the sound is a quite attractive note. What, there's a ute in there somewhere?
Having one of this I could talk from what I know! 2 problems, the deck cannot be replace by another & it isn't dat roomy inside consider if ur a big person.
Great review. The Ford Ranger is an off road truck. Big, difficult to park around town, and an easy clean plastic interior. Great for off road and a building site which is what they are designed for. Not a comfortable family car.
hehehe, Ok, you were not clear enough on your point, but I agree... Well, I actually think that these trucks and bigger trucks should be in production for people that really needs them, for work or because their life style demands it (may be the owner has a farm or a contruction business or something like that), but I do think that if you really dont need a pick up truck, dont buy it. I know people buying them because "they just want a big car", C'mon, a truck will never be as comfy as an SUV.
Because almost all manufacturers give north america plastic fantastic cars, so there's no point in making a more expensive car to compete with cheap ones. You also might consider the fact that this basic Ranger in Europe costs more than the most expensive version of US Ranger you can get.
it's because the Ford ranger isn't in the US market since 2011, but in the uk it is still selling, even in Mexico, but her with less options and without 4x4 :L (sorry for mi bad english)
Man, it is my idea or you talk like you have never worked with a Pick Up Truck? I am an engineer, telecommunications, to be more specific, and we always need to move equipment and materials, heavy radio or microwave devices to mountains and hills with difficult access road, most of the time we use full 4L gear to reach the summit, and we always use Pick Up Trucks for that, especially like the Ranger size, because an F-150 is too big and heavy for muddy road climbing. So, whats your point?
is 30m/g/12km/l that bad? have you tried driving in the philippines? 12kml is quite good for city driving... some 3.0 diesel consumes 6-7km/l on a daily basis.. do the math? good review, can be better
But who needs a vehicle when you can get to anywhere on a bicycle Would I be correct in saying that it I easier to travel in Europe on bicycle? I may be stereotyping but I've seen pictures of cities all over Europe where there are bicycles parked al along a sidewalk. That would be nice to just need a bike to get around.
1 American Gallon is 5 Liters 1 UK Gallon is 4.55 Liters The UK Gallon is smaller,@Dom Sleigtholme Also, we pay the equivalent of about $11 a gallon over here for diesel, I think about $10 for petrol/gasoline. And that's after Income tax, Savings Tax, VAT, RFLT, and VAT x3

big ,long heavy 4x4's are shit for 4wding no matter how much power the things have .ive seen plenty of f series stuck on the beach as i drive by in my ranger.mind you that might be because the drivers of yank tanks usually choose big trucks to compensate for other things or lack an understanding of horsepower v traction.
A big truck bed? Im suprised she didn't tell us again that how much ikea furniture it can fit in.. Oh, and what about my banana, any space to store my banana?Of course they'res going to be road noise, its a pick up(tradesman's car) and it probably has commercial vechicle tyres.
Nice shape, strong looking, and elegant. The truck is nice too.
And 8 years later I totally agree!
😂
Wow the off roading was very intense.
+Bastian P a family hatch could probably handle that '"off roading"
Bastian P I bet my Yugo from whatever year it is could do that
BTW. I don't have a Yugo
@@amarsahinovic1347 my wheelbarrow can hande it better
That what I though more like a dirt road.

And to be fair, REbecca said it was at a covered garage - challenging for any but a small pickup.
trefod America was discovered in 1492, so your cities haven't been upgraded since the 15th century???
MikeDunn The old city centers of some of Europe's capitals were laid out by the Romans. America was discovered in 1492, but your cities were founded much later and in many cases in a time where horse and buggy transport was taken into consideration.

You can have tacoma and frontier. Also, GM is launching the colorado again for 2015
10 years have passed from this review.
Please do a review on the new V6 Ranger.
Please make a test for Pick-ups and utility vehicles to see how much stuff fits in the trunk, such as a scooter/motorcycle/furniture piece and so on fit test.

I just saw this pickup truck in the Philippines and for me, this pickup truck is the most beautiful.
you know its a nice day when you see a carbuyer vid, on your subscription box :P

I love this reviewer, she's great!
I love this review of hers as she's taken her (bloody) coat off!
Love this car with the Raptor grill.
The thing I love about this car is it's designed in Australia
Sacrificing bed space for a bigger cab? What's the point of this thing?
Great review, but it seems the centre armrest does not apply to you!
why don't they sell these in the US any more?
Joshua Johnson Because of the F150. That thing is the best selling vehicle in North America, and if Ford offerd this in the U.S, that might be afraid of Hurting the Sales of the F series Trucks.
I guess tha makes sense
wow thats barely over a year of life per engine theres definitely a defect
that does suck I hope they wont fuck me over with the ford I own
+donnieblondy59 manual?

Hard interior plastics? they are better than whats in an Amarok, or maybe the UK gets a crappier trim level than Aus?
Just love how they got rid of it in the states, but it is still available everywhere else! We still need light duty trucks here, people.
Nice arms! Nice truck too, but y'know, just saying. :-]

I am getting a 1996 ford ranger

how reliable and dependable is it? im planning on getting the limited 3.2 one vs a hilux dont know which one though
Stunning and gorgeous look.
so you do own a "truck"? as if anyone outside the us would call it truck. tell me what do you transport that a station wagon couldn't and how often do you need it so that a transporter would be to much? how do you make the transport off your tons of stuff save so it doesn't fly away when you drive fast or what do you do so it doesn't get wet when it rains?
yeah.... you do that.... and we will do what we can with our trucks... Cheers!
love pickup truck than car ~
not bad performance while climbing and u can go anywhere u like ..
thats why i love them !
Xlt auto good buy .
Will buy one .
Does she come with the auto .
Very cute

How many mpg? I kinda like the Colorado too
It's much bigger and taller than the outgoing Ranger, but compared to all the sub compacts in Europe it does feel teeny.
it's because the Ford ranger isn't in the US market since 2011, but in the uk it is still selling, even in Mexico, but her with less options and without 4x4 :L (sorry for mi bad english)
the Ranger was named International Truck of the Year 2012
I'm surprised the Ranger is no longer available in the U.S. One Ford is kinda odd, methinks.
How come you haven't reviewed the ranger wildtrak
How is it that the ranger in the uk is bigger and more badass than the ones in the us
good review, but quite easy and superficial or good Thai veteran all written off?
I like her style! good review
Well, height wise this truck is really not much smaller than the F-series trucks seeing as this thing is WAY bigger than the older model.
Man, it is my idea or you talk like you have never worked with a Pick Up Truck? Why didnt Mat do the review? Its a Ford Ranger pickup truck not an MPV or a hatchback. Am not a sexist, but ......
I'd like to park my Ranger in her Garage...
me too bro me too :)
big bottle test? what d heck is that all about? is she driving in sahara?
I really don't care about trucks, Im just watching this so I can keep hearing her adorable voice and accent! *____*
Well yes u wouldn't want a pickup to sound like a pickup but more of car how much sense does that make
is 30m/g/12km/l that bad? have you tried driving in the philippines? 12kml is quite good for city driving... some 3.0 diesel consumes 6-7km/l on a daily basis.. do the math?

could you review the mazda bt-50 which is also based on this ranger? i wanna see whats the difference.
Why aren't these models available in North America?
Because its too large for the american market. As in its too close in size to the f150, so theres no point.
The clatter from the engine give me a break lady that is a beautiful noise deal with it or go to gas
Petrol.
1 American Gallon is 5 Liters
1 UK Gallon is 4.55 Liters
The UK Gallon is smaller,@Dom Sleigtholme
Also, we pay the equivalent of about $11 a gallon over here for diesel, I think about $10 for petrol/gasoline. And that's after Income tax, Savings Tax, VAT, RFLT, and VAT x3
A US gallon is actually 3.8 litres so it's smaller than an imperial gallon.
I stand corrected. Always thought it was 5 for some reason.
Still $8 or so a gallon though...
Adam Hansen absolutely disgusting.
1:26 wow look at that ruthless off camber she's getting on!!
Nice, fit, and lean with just the right amount of curves and crevices...the truck has those too ;)
sorry i couldn't notice, is that a truck in this video?
Should've kept the same Ranger design, or improved the safety/specs of the crew cab Ranger and put the ecoboost V6 in. Damn it, why not?
The inside is pretty nice, outside reminds me of a new Colorado. Wish this was in the U.S. :(
IbanezPlayer124 It Is in 2019
We Americans miss the Ranger lets go Ford get your act together, my 96 is getting a tad on the old side.
holy sh*t you're buff... here's to more sleeveless reviews!
But does the water bottle fit in the flat bed?
Why are vehicles in the UK getting better mpgs than the same models sold in the US?
How come this truck not available in USA
+Gilbert Mendez There is also the Ford Super Duty F250 and up.
Generally most peope who get a trucu just to have one opt for The F150.
Why isn't it sold here in the US anymore???
djeez did you see the veins on this one? she must be pumping some serious iron!
I dont get it if this pickup is not the #1 than who is the 4x4 pickup #1 ?
I'm a follower of carbuyer and I watch every video they upload even if the cars presented are hideous and comments are not for positive feedback only. maybe you didn't knew that.
in Europe a Ranger is considered a "full size" truck, my guess if that Ford won't take it to the US fearing it might upset the sales of the F150
they will continue the Ranger in 2018
Agreed, on the engines, though frankly a diesel would be a great option to have. Diesels are very slowly creeping back in to our market. Slower than I'd like, but I'm in the minority on that front, I suspect. :-] Yes I'm aware of One Ford and the standardization initiative, however I had read previously that this wouldn't be coming Stateside. I agree. So much for "One World, One Ford".
So it's time so review the VW Amarok, guys!
Nice review anyway!
The standardizing thing is true, even the Mustang should come to europe in 2014, bet they change the engines though..
Here in the UK this is just about the biggest pick up money can buy, unless you start importing Dodge rams or something.
The Brit thinks this thing is a monster. She should take a drive in the south sometime.
big ,long heavy 4x4's are shit for 4wding no matter how much power the things have .ive seen plenty of f series stuck on the beach as i drive by in my ranger.mind you that might be because the drivers of yank tanks usually choose big trucks to compensate for other things or lack an understanding of horsepower v traction.
2:41 what about your garage?
I like how they cut out the part where she has to park it!
A big truck bed? Im suprised she didn't tell us again that how much ikea furniture it can fit in.. Oh, and what about my banana, any space to store my banana?Of course they'res going to be road noise, its a pick up(tradesman's car) and it probably has commercial vechicle tyres.
They should use the newer 2.0 TDCI with 150HP, 180HP and twin turbo 210HP so it could be more economical in this class
Why are they not selling this thing in north america???
Actually Rebecca, road tax is cheap due to it being a pick-up because classed as a commerical vehicle. You pay only £220.
carbuyer is a little too obsessed with the materials on dash. i don't really care how hard the dash is as long as the airbag works.
