I _think_ I had an Astral Projection once, I was severely sleep deprived after days of staying up nearly all night and I briefly _seemingly_ left my body and looked down on myself on my bed. It was very vivid so I am not sure if it was a dream or not, but the experience stuck with me and basically scared me into better sleeping habits.

It can definitely feel that way at times, but hobbies and friendships can really round out your life even if you end up working a generic job. I personally can’t deal with a capitalist worker bee life, so I have decided to join a farm community so that my work gives back to my community and I feel I have value, but there are plenty of options if you don’t like the sound of that. I don’t know what stage of life you’re in, but working a career that aligns with your passions can go a long way towards staving off existential depression or burnout, i.e. if you’re interested in computers you can go into programming or computer science, or if you really like dogs, you could be a dog trainer or groomer. Welding or an electricians path is high paying and good for people who like physical work without much nuance, and farming is good for people who are good at working hard and caring for the earth/animals. Art has many pathways, such as graphic design, singing, writing, and dance, and if you’re good at talking to people and solving problems for others, customer service can be rewarding. If you like to switch between different tasks, secretaries or receptionists usually end up as a catch all for simpler jobs. There are infinite possibilities, and even if you’re stuck in a life under capitalism, there are ways to make it work for you and to live a happy life
