I love this video!! I’ve been waiting for some reviews of this mini bike. It looks awesome. Could you share the heights of some of the people seen riding the bike so we can get an idea of how small it is & what height person looks best fit for the bike. Thanks!!! Great work
Man I want to love this thing, but they should have made it a street legal e-moped out of the box. Love how easy they make it to swap batteries, they have up to a 12ah battery in the 56v case style so theoretically you can have 2000wh with 3 12ah packs on the bike and just swap one out. I do wonder if they drain one battery at a time or if they alternate which battery it's pulling from every 5-10% while both are connected. Looks like so much fun, love to see a big company putting out something like this.
@@RunPlayBack i can’t wait to see how your bike turns out i was about to buy a 1600r pit bike from Burromax but now i kinda wanna see what the EGO mini can do. 😎✔️
At 5'10", average height for a male, I can tell they aimed to please around 5'7" to 6'0" with it fitting me about perfect. The beauty of the engenering here is in its offroad ability to climb steadily and smoothly, never feeling like you might tople bacwards. I read a review by a hunter who bought his to sneak up on deer and I'd agree that this would be the perfect offroad tool for any number of hobbies in which a compact ridge climber would facilitate a better experiance. I see myself cutting some new paths in tight terian in the near future. Im never in a hurry so the top speed is adequate for anything I'll be using this for. Great product and a great price when you factor in the quality. I for see very little maintenance and with 3 year warranty on the batteries the largest upkeep is covered imo.
I think the specs are pretty similar. The only thing I'd consider is if you already have additional Greenworks batteries and tools. May make sense to keep it in the same power system. But if you have EGO tools too or plan on it, sure why not. I think both bikes are fun.
@@RunPlayBack unfortunately all my yard tools are Ryobi so there is little ecosystem benefit for me. We do however have a greenworks go kart and mini bike so it may be best for us to stick with greenworks if we get another bike
I hear ya! I have a mix of Black and Decker, Milwaukee and EGO stuff. But I was definitely swayed to get the bike because I already had 3 EGO tools. Sharing power between more than one thing has proven to be really useful for me.
Feels like the 28mph speed is still restricted. The batteries can deliver about 60 amps, so theoretically it has about 10bhp, which is easily good for 50mph, although at that speed with 7.5Ah batteries, it would last about 7 mins. Which is why they’ve restricted it to 28mph!
How would you compare the value to a similar gas bike like a Honda Grom? I want to pick one of these up but biggest setback was low range and top speed
Definitely not the same category. You'll save money and get more power with gas. It makes more sense if you already own EGO products and are into EV mini bikes.
@@RunPlayBack That’s true, been binging your series on this bike. I’m mainly gonna be riding it in my yard. And I do have other EGO products that’s what originally spiked my interest. I want a Surron or equivalent but not looking to spend too much.
I had a few friends try it out, heavier and taller than me and they loved it. Seat is long enough to find the best angle for comfort when adjusting the handlebars. They may have them at your nearest Lowes or Ace Hardware so you can see it in person.
what are the laws like about driving it on the road? it’s not a motorcycle and it’s not a bicycle. could it be drive this on the side of the road like i would with a petal bike?
@@nicklav22 depends on your state, I have mine registered as a moped in MI but I added lights, mirrors etc. Laws are pretty flexible here regarding mopeds. Other states are much more strict.
@@KooLioJSM46 It wasn't on Amazon when I ordered, I got mine from Acme Tools. I'd probably do Amazon if I had to do it again, seems like the same price and I have Prime.
That 28mph for that price is kind of just no go compared to competition. Personally i got ariel rider x that i got up to 40mph is only a few hundo more or when on sale even cheaper than this one.
Yeah I hear you. Specs are not mind blowing. But I don't think AR or traditional ebikes should be compared to this thing. It's more of an off-road, electric moto grade pitbike that just happens to use an existing power system for tools. Much different audience for someone looking for a high powered ebike. If it was just about price theres obviously cheaper solutions. There's a reason this thing hits with the electric power tool crowd and maybe not so much with ebike enthusiasts. But I love both worlds which is why I'm trying to bridge the gap with power mods.
A Surron has a different controller. But the built in switch on the EGO controller is the cutoff for Sport mode. It's the internal programming on the controller that limits it to 28 miles per hour.
do you think it would pull a light weight trailer with a 150# deer on fairly level ground , was looking at the coyote 4 wheel battery driven ,top level $15,000 ouch. a nice machine made in S.Carolina anybody have one. later
Misses the mark for me. Too small, underpowered & ill equipped to compete in the e-bike segment. Nice money pit getting it up to par & decent frame for its size; a good kids starter kit.

The Bax1501 commercial backpack battery is 28ah. You could mount two on the rear of the bike's steel frame. Theoretically 75 miles of range
Haha yeah I thought about that backpack. It would be pretty interesting riding with that on tho lol.

Thanks for the feedback! So I'm probably the shortest rider at 5'5" and tallest would be Surge Sully whose about 5'10" or 5'11".
@@RunPlayBack thanks so much for the reply! I am 5’6 on a sunny day so this is perfect.

I just got mine. Love it!
So much fun!
How much cost?

I 100% agree, hopefully they release another EV in the future.
They alternate the batteries so they both die about the same time.
i was sleeping on this Bike the quality is like motorcycle grade compared to other mini e-bikes that Hub motor looks like it could do 40+ easy .
Definitely built for power upgrades!

I could ride that to work. I only work a quarter mile from my house but it'd be a great use of my batteries while I'm not using yard tools
Do you know if there will be full size bike in future?

If you watch our latest EGO video, there's a plug and play controller kit being developed. Ideal for the dual 12ah batteries.
Where was this video filmed? Just curious

Ryobi, Dewalt, Milwaukee got some work to do! 😄
Could street tires be put on easilly?
How old ďoyou have to be when using a ego mini bike
I think the Stomp Ebox may fill this niche as well, minus the battery ecosystem.
Yeah they have some solid electric mini bikes. We'll be reviewing the Dragster next.
What is the seat height?
I am only 5' 8", I have all the EGO products, with lots of batteries. I am 220 lbs, will this bike feel too small for me?

Yeah you can lay it on its side. It wont be easy tho, you'll probably need a second person to assist.

Golf bag rack/holder would be clutch
Looks like a 273 motor. Would be rad if it was.
It's possible. Does the 273 come in 12" though? I thought it might be this or similar: www.qsmotor.com/product/12inch-3000w-hub-motor/
If not it would be interesting if someone swapped it out for one.
