Hey La-great video! I too have had the intuition to stay small. I think there are a lot of benefits of doing that including less stress. I love your openess always in sharing your personal income info-thats really helpful for your viewers that are just starting out to know what to expect. Helps them make decisions.
    Love you!

Great video! I only have 5k subs and I am already worried about not being able to connect with my audience already. That point hit me hard. My life as a creator is already very different than my audience who are language learners since my language learning studies are tied to content creation and wanting to become an entrepreneur and I'm not just studying languages for fun like some may be.

Yeah, that can definitely be a challenge. I just try to be honest about where I’m at in each stage of my life - I know not everyone will relate to everything, but hopefully they’ll take what applies 😊

My business is supporting (pet) content creators and one of my signature services is pitching to brands but my other one is launching something that's beyond brand deals to diversify their income so this was really insightful!

This was as motivating as it was disappointing. The bachelors degree bit was disappointing for me bc I'd expect that the creator industry would be a potential equalizer for people with less opportunities for traditional(expensive) higher education compared to corporate workforce that gatekeep higher education and disregard other ways to learn.
It was nice to know how many different avenues of income are accessible to creators with smaller follower counts. There were some on there I hadn't really considered. And I love the idea of a creators union.
Great vid, you have such a nice perspective on everything

Thank you for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Yeah... that part was curious to me, too.
I wish age was a part of the demographic data shown -- I'm theorizing that these high earning creators likely skew a bit older. Life experience/working many different jobs has helped with my negotiation and general business skills, and Millennials/Gen X were really pushed to get traditional degrees a lot more than Gen Z and younger.
I think that stat may be more reflective of that than anything!

and yeah unfortunately can't relate to the home buying thing - it's likely because it may be more unusual here in Portugal, but most of the banks are like "yeah, you can't afford it" 😅

OK ... Now let's actually analyse this.
    2000 people were surveyed.
96% of them reported earning under $100,000
    96% of 2000 is 1920.
So the video is about the answers given by 80 people.
I've been a full time creator since 2018.
I've been hired as a creator by THE largest sports brands, and THE largest banks.
I've never earned more than $15,000 since 2018.
I'll just leave this here as testimony ...

Thanks for sharing your experience! My understanding of the data is that the results shown were for all creators surveyed, not just the six-figure ones. Sorry if I didn't make that clear. I was just adding my commentary as someone who has made a decent amount on perhaps some ways the 96% could increase their revenue 💪🏽

@@thelatashajames Absolutely no shade being thrown BTW 🙂 I think it's great that some creative people are being well paid for their talents. I was just struck by the 96% of 2000 people being under $100k. That's the vast majority of everyday experience for content creators. Like most industries, only a handful of people make a good living. Also like most industries, 99% of the money goes to 1% of the people, since big numbers attract big numbers. That's just end-stage capitalism, so that's the game we all play. Like most people, I'll just keep doing the things I can to promote myself, and the incredible people I've worked with, and hope that the rising tide raises all boats ✌

Doing one static shot would surely bore some people and I’ve gotten complaints about that before. It’s impossible for me to please everyone, so thanks for understanding that I’m gonna try new things once in a while and for watching regardless ❤️
