Graham Nash with Everly Bros tales...it doesn't get any better than that!
Always loved harmony singing. The high harmony was always where it's at for me as a vocalist. Graham and Phil and George Grantham and Timothy B. Schmidt of Poco (and Eagles for Tim) were singing parts that added so much to the songs for me.
Everleys and Ricky Nelson were two of my earliest favorites as a kid in the 50s. Ricky singing with his band at the end of the Ozzie and Harriet Show piqued my interest in music. And Ricky had better hair than Elvis!
One distinct memory of Graham was many years ago, a concert at Seton Hall Univ. I think it was...Graham (I think it was a show with D Crosby) was stoked about a beautiful James Taylor song he had recently heard and in his solo portion of the show proceeded to play it...until he botched the chords midway and stopped with a chuckle, saying something like, "Well, I think you get the idea, beautiful song!"
Wonder if Graham remembers the moment, because he's had so many terrific concert moments I'm sure.

The greatest ‘harmony’ show I’ve ever seen in my life was Poco ca. ‘72: Schmidt, Furay, Cotton, and Grantham on vocals (Rusty was there too). Perfect. Jaw dropping. Absolutely defying the impossibility that four-part harmony could sound SO perfect live. CSNY were harmony-Gods in the studio, but they couldn’t touch Poco live. Not even close. Cowtown ballroom.
