Erm ... you're insane if you think this raised awareness, AIDS couldn't be more well known. It raised money, which is great of course - but yes, I stand by the fact that having a giant, angry looking Mandela head on stage is a bit of an odd choice.
Raising AIDS awareness was one of the goals of 46664 campaign. According to Wikipedia, this concert "was hosted by Mandela and its goal was to raise awareness of the spread of HIV/AIDS in South Africa."
Then, for Mandela's head, well... As you can guess, considering Brian and Roger were not the only artists who played that night (Peter Gabriel, The Who, Zucchero, Eurythmics, Bono and The Edge, Robert Plant...), it was probably not their idea.

I used to live down the street from Nelson Mandela we knew him as the 'man with the big playground' cause he had a playground in his backyard. (This was when I was 4 or 5 and like 2009/10)
It is only those individuals who seek to liberate and to free a nation and its peoples who write not only the nations true history of its dark past, but also write the true destiny for its bright future, not those individuals who seek to bind and to enslave a nation and its peoples. The continent of Africa has been and still is witness to many military coup's and dictatorships, many oppressive, repressive and tyrranical regimes, but does anybody spare a thought for them. They certainly have better things to fill and to occupy their mind with, better things to think about than them, nor does anyone have a kind word for them.
This man commands no army but lot of people salute him. He demands no respect, but a lot of people respect him, cause he chose a life of imprisonment and exile for himself in order to liberate and to free a nation, but did not choose to imprison and to exile a nation in order to liberate and to free himself.

Hate me all you wish, I truly believe that this guy who sang The Show Must Go On did the best job of them all - out of Paul Rodgers, Elton John, Adam Lambert, and many others. Not as good as Freddy, mind you, but still - the best singer out of all of them is the guy whose name I am yet to discover

It should also be noted that Mark has never unleashed a tenth of his full brutality on a woman.
