Make Dovetail Joints with a Bandsaw // Jig + Marker + Directions
Вставка

- A good dovetail joint is essential for both functional and aesthetic reasons, making it a cornerstone of fine woodworking and craftsmanship. These types of joints can easily be created with a hand saw and a few years of hand saw experience under the belt. But...for the rest of us that are not trained to make these, making a dovetail can be a difficult chore to make with a power tool due to the intricate angles. In this video, I'm going to show you a jig that you can use that will help you make the dovetail you've dreamed of making...with a bandsaw.
The jig uses a base and 2 carriages to create the tails and the pins. You'll also need to mark your stock, so I've included an easy to make dovetail marking jig.

Great idea and great video!
Bandsaw dovetails are great for large-scale cases or many drawers. Also it's much more pleasant than using a router.
This is just what I've been looking for, started getting into dovetails and this is a great place to start....thanks
That's a neat method. I like it. And I can even use it despite having no bandsaw fence!
To find a solution to a difficult problem in the simplest way, It's genius
Thank you for sharing
This is awesome. Great job coming up with this.
I will make this one. Pure genius thought process.
on my list now.
I am happy about 3 things I must admit:
a) Plans are free
b) You were honest about the mistakes (cutting through pins AND guide)
c) I have made a tampering jig, that apparently you do not have (yet) 😊
Very cool idea! While there is work involved in making the jig, it's such a simple solution! Bravo!!!!!
Fantastic, Rob! Really great jig! 😃
Thanks a bunch for the tutorial!!!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Great solutions; and found your website to be very user friendly! I'm working on fine tuning shop layout and workflow, jig selections are next. I can definitely see a benefit on utilizing my bandsaw with this system. I'll probably skip to the chisel a little sooner, but who knows? Sometime you get parked in front of a machine and are content to use it until you can't do any more, lol.
Great designs
Nice jig, Rob!
Excelent job, i will try to do the same with my inverted jig saw. Not as good as the bandsaw but maybe good enough. thanks and congratulations
excellent but spoiled by the unnecessary background soundtrack
