    Man, watching that introduction of Coach Napier, he does that have that little confident smerk or smile!!! Can you imagine what this team will look like if they can just go win 8-9 games this year? The culture is good, he’s figuring out NIL, hitting on the players in the portal and may have the right coaches this year? We know Napier has a good eye for talent now just go win some games and work on in game play calling and decisions!!! GATORS BY A MILLION!!!

    Man I really want Billy to win especially after seeing him shout out gators breakdown I really hope we shock the world this year please more double move routes also crossing routes to take advantage of the speedy WR we have please some smash routes on the outside maybe more over/under routes instead of so many low to high read routes that cuts off half the field

    I kinda think that Florida state law was a hindrance at the beginning with NIL and Billy and the Athletic Department didn’t push it, maybe at our teams on perils, while the other schools in the state did.
    That’s fixed. But, we lost a NIL year.

    • @acct5910
      @acct5910 3 місяці тому +2

      Ya, the way Napier talks about NIL also, it seems like he realizes there will be constraints placed on it eventually, so Florida as a program has already placed their own internal constraints that they operate within, so when it becomes enforced for all teams, they won’t have to make many changes to their system. He isn’t trying to push the boundaries like other schools.

    • @BudHenry
      @BudHenry 3 місяці тому

      @@acct5910if you aren’t pushing the boundaries of nil now you are just digging a hole and falling further and further behind. The NCAA is in trouble. Who knows what the rules will look like in the future but in the meantime other top tier schools are taking advantage of every break they’re getting. Js

    • @acct5910
      @acct5910 2 місяці тому

      @@BudHenry I don’t disagree that the NCAA is losing every battle, but there is no way the NIL will always be the Wild West forever. I’d say Napier is doing fairly well on the recruiting/transfer front, even operating within whatever self imposed confines, especially considering his win percentage. I think their limitations are likely well thought out, to provide a competitive value relative to other schools, while maintaining a reasonable maximum. They have determined a scale where for top level players, they can still provide everything needed, without going to a number that indicates bag chasing players, and then adjust accordingly to their own personal evaluation of each players worth to a team. Napier seems to also factor in the value of the player experience and education that Florida is providing. I agree that other teams will take more advantage right now, but if another teams entire roster building is primarily based on throwing money around, when some governing body sets a limit, some of those schools will be in trouble, and coaches/players will be looking for places where the school offers value outside of NIL, which is what Napier is trying to emphasize at Florida.

    Beat Miami, it will be a great momentum to start the season. Beat UCF to build more momentum going forward. Big question, and a big if, but, 8-4 or 9-3 with a win against TX. How would Gator Nation feel about that? Would Billy be in the talk in the biggest turn around of the yr with this schedule????

  • @edwardbloom6999
    @edwardbloom6999 3 місяці тому

    Dave, you say wins must come and no excuses. What is your must for the season? We see plenty of people saying 6 games this year and 8 next year is worthy of an extension. Usually, after year 3, coaches get extensions, with that in mind, should 6 wins warrant an extension and more money this year?
    Also, why no mention of all the confident talk from Napier last July and August when addressing it here like it’s something he’s never done before?

    • @GatorsBreakdown
      @GatorsBreakdown  3 місяці тому +1

      Seven at the very least to make me feel somewhat better about the direction, but eight gets me there. I’d hold off on an extension, no one is going to come calling for Napier to get another big job.
      I do think last year’s confidence was more lip-service and it started much later around SEC Media Days. I’ve gotten this vibe from Napier since spring ball started.

      @@GatorsBreakdown Good point. I remember when a booster told Spurrier that we didn't expect him to win immediately, that it would take time to build up his team. Spurrier immediately told him that Florida had good players and don't be surprised if we win the SEC. Spurrier had confidence and was a good coach. Third year of Billy and everyone is still making excuses of not enough players. Bullshit. We have the players. We don't have the coaches. What if we lose another few games because he doesn't care about survival teams? I hope Billy wins it all. I'm rooting for him. But I lost ALL, and I mean ALL, confidence in him when he couldn't win that sixth game. When the pressure was on, he folded. A good coach, a good man, would rise to the occasion. He acted like he didn't care. And it showed. I'll never forget Josh Pate saying it was the most undisciplined team he'd ever seen. Pathetic.
