Having them do a scrimmage in Denver, in front of 5-10k fans is smart. They can see how they’ll perform “with the lights on” before the actual game. And I know fans, that can’t afford a ticket will be thrilled.
The staff CP has now are elite competitors that have a love of football and mentorship with NFL experience. He tried the standard way with great success but unable to win now but needed staff that understand his vision and ready to hit the ground running with the same level of commitment
Great interview. Thanks, DNVR. Coach Phillips seems to be a great evaluator of talent. He never overinflates a guy's worth but he does actuate and point out the finer things of a guy's game. He calls the situation just as it is and wants his players to know you've got to want to be a competitor to play for CU. At my age I feel that life is too short for all the negativity on this channel so I choose to embrace the positive. Friday night should be great for the players and the coaches.
