perhaps my favorite part about this ending is that shuuichi gains kokichi's trust, and kokichi willingly gives it to him. in his last fte, shuuichi makes a point to say that even when he extends his hand out to kokichi, he won't grab it. and that last little part where kokichi not only takes shuuichi's hand, but is actually the one to offer it to him is symbolic of this newfound trust. he even suggests the idea of opening up to shuuichi, getting to know the real him once they leave the academy. compare that to how he acted in the killing game, constantly confusing everyone to keep them away. he purposely made everyone hate him. he did what he could to survive because it was a game of life and death, and trusting people *meant* death to him. but the tension of the killing game is gone here, and so is kokichi's apprehension. he's more open, if only a little, and the fact that hes willing to let shuuichi in shows how people behave in different situations. tl;dr we are saiouma stans first and humans second (edit 2020 i hope yall are doing well but i forgot i made this comment when did this get almost 800 likes lol)

I like how every other character has something you have to remember from their FTEs to choose the correct answer in this ending, but for Kokichi's you literally just have to remember that he's a liar and a little shit. Also a personal headcanon of mine is that Kokichi knows about how warm his hand gets around Shuichi, and that's why he rejects Shuichi's hand at the end of their FTEs. But at the end of Salmon Team, he's grown to trust Shuichi so much that he holds his hand anyways. I figure it must be exhausting for him to lie about everything all the time, right? So letting detective boy see through this lie might be a moment of relief.

It sucks that we get no true exposition on oma, but that’s the beauty of this whole game; even after the story is finished, we barely have even scratched the surface. It’s entirely possible the audition tapes that were shown in the 6th trial were fabricated as well. I’d find it hard to believe, even if it has been going on for so long that’s it the norm, that people would put their lives at risk to win in a killing game. Yeah sure, it’s a REALITY killing game, but usually ‘reality’ shows are faked most of the time solely for drama and more ratings. I personally think it could have been possible they WERE actually kidnapped like they had originally said in the fabricated flashback light memories, before stating future foundation had actually took them in and ship them into space not to repopulate, but to frolick and simply survive the meteors. In the beginning of the game, It seems like Kaede already knew who monokuma was, bc that was before their memories were wiped. This gives the impression that they all knew what the Danganronpa killing game was. This theory is complicated bc Rantaro was stated to have participated in the previous two...but didn’t seem to know what has happening. Rantaro’s motive video screws the intro of the game. In his video, he made a video to himself, possibly in the 52nd killing game after he survived, but was forced to participate again for the 53rd game as punishment....it could Be that rantaro’s memory was wiped each time he participated, so he couldn’t figure who the mastermind already was, and then monokuma uses the flashback lights on Rantaro so he could make that video. Christ this game is soooo confusing, but I’ll just be ranting on and on about how Complicated and Fantastic the plot is! I hope anybody even understood what I was saying🤣

There are behavior patterns and certain traits which you can use to tell when Kokichi is telling the truth and lying, it is hard but you can read some bits about him and figure out how he works. You just have to pay attention to his actions as a whole and figure out what he is doing and it makes a lot more sense. Keep in mind about the audition tapes, is they come from a truly peaceful world. For that to happen all the aggression, hate, conflict, and despair would need to be kept somewhere (The game). This also means if someone could feel that raw emotion they'd be inclined too. As for not being able to say the mastermind's name... if Rantaro did say Tsumugi then in turn wouldn't Rantaro immediately kill her? He'd jump on her in an instant being put in that position, especially since you could tell he was planning to stop the mastermind. The viewers wouldn't know it is Tsumugi because if we consider she is the ultimate cos player she can fill *any fictional role*. She wouldn't have any reason to reveal who she really is, but stay as Tsumugi as that was all the players would recognize. If she turned into some unknown figure it wouldn't be fun for anyone.

Tsumugi faking her cospox seems unlikely. Am I right to say how technically, *fictional* characters are people who simply don’t exist as their true selves. Kaede for example-, her body was real, and her emotions were real, but her talent was fabricated and somewhat her personality too. The same goes for everybody else. Which makes me think if the whole cast, and not just tsumugi, are cosplaying as thier desired,(or random) talents. Shuichi got exactly what he hoped for, but his brief backstory as to how he became a ultimate detective in his fictional memories, seemed very far-fetched. He said how he really resonated with the past ultimate detectives, so technically speaking no part of Shuichi is fictional at all.
I loved this ending! Shuichi wants to figure him out, and Kokichi is letting him! Its what I love about their liar detector dynamic! I can only imagine how their relationship progresses later on build with trust and Shuichi blushing more cause he seems easily flustered while Kokichi is a total flirt lol. I wish to see more of their interactions in the new Danganronpa Game coming soon. SaiOuma is my OTP, I really love it 💕

I wonder if Kodaka knew how popular Kokichi Ouma would be. I wonder if he knew how he would become the undeniable most popular character in the series. In terms of characters, V3 was the best. No character really fell short of each other, and each character had personality even if they died early on. All the designs were objectively good, encompassing each characters personality well. And of course, Kokichi became the fandom's favorite. It wasn't a surprise to me, especially with how good his voice actors did with him. Shuichi is very well loved too, if I had to guess, him and Kokichi fight for the first spot. So why do you guys like Kokichi and Shuichi? What about them makes you go, "hey, this is my favorite character". I find it hard to explain myself, but I adore them
2yrs late but i love him for a variety of things, he's a complex witty mischievous child. I've played this game so many times always looking into his dialogue bc of how interesting he is to analyze and figure out the layers of his character (especially when the localization screws him over). even from the beginning i never hated him or found him annoying because he always seemed 2 steps ahead from the others which always intrigued me, wanting to know more about him. theres always so much to say about his character, and because of that ill never view him on a surface level intentionally. one of my favorite morally grey characters. hes also just a fun (and somewhat depressing) character to get into and as for shuichi my love for him is growing pretty recently, hes so cute and caring for others. i love his character development and how impactful it became, especially at the end of the game. i love how hes gentle but also not a complete push over (lol) hes definitely a great protagonist that id love to look over even more someday. his relationships with the other cast always warms my heart to see both of them are so helpful in the game and compliment each other so well, i always wondered if things went differently and they "teamed up" the game would end faster. but who knows

I really wish we could've seen more of the "true" Kokichi. although you could probably say that lies and lying are a part of him, still, it hurts a bit to know that he never really showed is true self to the others until the very end. but that tragedy is part of the charm of danganronpa I guess.

I wonder if Kodaka knew how popular Kokichi Ouma would be. I wonder if he knew how he would become the undeniable most popular character in the series. In terms of characters, V3 was the best. No character really fell short of each other, and each character had personality even if they died early on. All the designs were objectively good, encompassing each characters personality well. And of course, Kokichi became the fandom's favorite. It wasn't a surprise to me, especially with how good his voice actors did with him. Shuichi is very well loved too, if I had to guess, him and Kokichi fight for the first spot.
So why do you guys like Kokichi and Shuichi? What about them makes you go, "hey, this is my favorite character". I find it hard to explain myself, but I adore them
2yrs late but i love him for a variety of things, he's a complex witty mischievous child. I've played this game so many times always looking into his dialogue bc of how interesting he is to analyze and figure out the layers of his character (especially when the localization screws him over). even from the beginning i never hated him or found him annoying because he always seemed 2 steps ahead from the others which always intrigued me, wanting to know more about him. theres always so much to say about his character, and because of that ill never view him on a surface level intentionally. one of my favorite morally grey characters.
hes also just a fun (and somewhat depressing) character to get into
and as for shuichi my love for him is growing pretty recently, hes so cute and caring for others. i love his character development and how impactful it became, especially at the end of the game. i love how hes gentle but also not a complete push over (lol) hes definitely a great protagonist that id love to look over even more someday. his relationships with the other cast always warms my heart to see
both of them are so helpful in the game and compliment each other so well, i always wondered if things went differently and they "teamed up" the game would end faster. but who knows
