If you dont like the food off streets, rely on fruits in Bangkok. vendor was doing a sour face the day before so we tried to catch that face again on camera, didnt happen :(
mohd azfar It looks like he is very much in touch with his knife. You can use any type of knife, but the way you use it, is what defines that knife and the person using it. Pure epic.
Ryu Hayabusa Everybody deserves respect, the only thing this man has been doing for years was peeling fruits, meanwhile most of people study or work too hard.
You can tell from the action that he is a professional fruit vendor. Look how he chose the right mango and returned it not once but twice of it back to the container (the first one is not ripe enough and the second one got blemished on one side). And see how he's trying hard to always smile when talking to customer. A good customer service and a good quality check skills within this guy.
+Fabbe Rashed I agree, Thai people are very happy and nice people. Lucky to make some Thai friends that are just awesome. Not saying they are ALL awesome, but they are generally nice and considerate.
For those complaining about hygiene... this man isn't sneezing and spitting all over the food, he's SERVING it. He looks clean, his hands look clean, this isn't a rich country, they have a much higher immune system than we do because they don't nit pick about "germs" and things of the like. They probably rarely have to go to the doctor, whereas we suffer from so much heart disease, diabetes, mental disorders, etc. and are doped up with all sorts of pills, where they actually prefer natural remedies. Food for thought?
Seriously. I'm "privileged" in some ways, but I don't lack common sense, and I can't believe so many people are brainwashed into thinking they need to live in a clean little bubble to stay healthy, when in all reality, if they really want to boost their immune system, all they really need to do is roll in the mud.
That's all common sense. However, practically bathing in disinfectant and hand sanitizer everywhere you go to prevent you from living your life isn't the way to go either.
I mean, yeah, it's another country, our stomachs aren't used to the bacteria they face on a daily basis. Iodine drops for water, or bring purified water along, wash hands, have your shots before you go overseas (though I think some of the preventative shots are a little over the top), and just be conscious of yourself. There's just no need to live in a sterilized bubble while you're out and about in your own environment. People overdo EVERYTHING.
Now ladies and gents this is what you call great customer service, picks the best of the best and serves with a big smile on the face. God bless this guy
Omg that guy threw three mangos away because they weren't perfect man we have horrible food here in America >< every thing here has a chemical After taste
No he was trying to find the perfect one. If you don't find one that isn't firm or the right color then it means it won't taste right. If you don't know how to prepare food don't judge how other people do it.
Most Americans don't make their food right. Especially lunch ladies. They don't think you can taste the rotten food (btw the >< looked like you were judging)
I watched twice and I understand now. They were not being rude. And maybe to them vendor looked sour, but I see him giving so much efforts for his customers.
A fruit and veg seller showing his dexterity on the street Pleasing people that passes by and catches their eye Creativity oozes out in many different ways God blessings upon always
I like the fact that the vendor returned back the mangoes that were not ripe enough for consumption (i think around 2 or 3 of them) in the 2nd order, for the customers. And boo to you for recording someone just to see a sour face.
yes I agree hardworking man, that's what I love about other countries that aren't america. people actually do what ever they can to put food on the table for their families.
Don't understand why so many hates on that English speaking guy. The vendor is fine. And the fruit sold. I see no problem there. Because this always happen where there's foreigner in Thailand. Just at least keep using easy English with some gesture and you can get over any deal.
Yea, I'm a bit confused by the commenters too.. I didn't find the interaction rude at all, and the guys in the video figured it out just fine. I bet all the street vendors deal with this a lot in a day, and get through it with a smile.
Its hard not to like this guy. When he sees a nice person with a camera who likes his work he reaches into the bin and comes out with the best fruit he has and with a smile serves it up!
I love Thai fruit so much. However I'd like to recommend you an interesting place escape hunt experience where you can have so much fun and solve all mysteries.
I heard a bit of accent in those buyers' English, so English may not be their mother language. Even himself, the guy on the left, couldn't use a correct word to make a sentence, instead of asking the vendor "what is this one?" he asked "which one is this one?" So I think we can take it easy on those buyers. I feel sorry for the vendor. He was confused a little bit.
The seller is a Simplicity person, he changed couple of mangos to get the perfect one, for the tourism people, very kind and warm hearted... We all wish we can treat them the same way if they come to other countries to travel.
Which one is this one? That's Don Juan. Which one is this one? That's James Wan. Which one is this one? That's Neo the chosen one. And how much for that one? Ten thousand Korean won.
I love and appreciate these type of vendors because if you go to ny hotdog stand the guys always seems to have a problem and makes a very bad vibe and looks like he doesn't enjoy his job but just look at this guy he loves what he's doing and he puts his heart into it
i know this man in bangkok suriwong road left side fuji hotel in front menohra hotel i daily sit with very kind honest hardworking person always smiling miss you bro
As a cook this is basic and easy like 1 2 3,,, we work behind close doors so no one can really appreciate how skillful and hardworking people in the food industry is. Kudos to the vendor. Ow regarding the sanitation its good. people who complain about it are just clean freaks who doesnt give their immune system a work out.
Not sure abt his knife skills bcs he is essentially using a peeler. But i got to say he is honest. Switching and discarding mismatched veg was awesome.
Amazing peeling and cutting skills + a very hard working man. That guy deserves a lot of respect.
Should say thank to the knife lol.. that knife was made that way...
mohd azfar
It looks like he is very much in touch with his knife. You can use any type of knife, but the way you use it, is what defines that knife and the person using it. Pure epic.
Lol.. im using those knife for peeling my fruit.. its make like that.. that knife only for peeling dude...
mohd azfar
LOL, I know what you mean, but this guy is a peeling master.
Ryu Hayabusa Everybody deserves respect, the only thing this man has been doing for years was peeling fruits, meanwhile most of people study or work too hard.

and he is wearing a proper shirt to do his work
It's a normal thing that he know how to choose the mango but I'm still proud of his knife skills.
God bless him with customers and money
Belive or not this guy is happier than 70% of the viewers... Be thankful for what u have
+Patrick Bateman I meant greatful

A lot of more privileged people lack the thought, unfortunately.
Seriously. Now ladies and gents this is what you call great customer service, picks the best of the best and serves with a big smile on the face. God bless this guy
respect to the guy . hes a happy, honest and humble man. but you guys can learn how to be more tactful!
I really appreciate him. Even though its a street shop look how he maintains the hygiene. 👌👌
they have perly whites in third world countries 😄
+rufaik farook i agree w this. but it would be better if he has a gloves on when he prepared the food.
Nah gloves are for pussies
+umaga gloves don't help if he scratches his as or some shit if he washes his hand properly it's better than gloves
L Na
The vendor looks like a really kind and honest man. May his business prosper :)

Sasha Tanner exactly! At school I often find my self eating rotten fruit. *and i was praising how he made prepared it*
Most Americans don't make their food right. Especially lunch ladies. They don't think you can taste the rotten food (btw the >< looked like you were judging)

This is actually super clean when compared to fruit stalls in jakarta
I've been avoiding eating my mango for nearly 2 days now because I'm dreading cutting it. If only I was friends with Mr Skills right here.
I like how he's got an ice fridge for the fruits.
In Thailand, you can find these fruit sellers everywhere in the streets and most of them puts fruits on ice so it's no surprise for Thai viewers
