      It's hard to take any transphobic argument seriously when the person making it believes in what she calls being a "political lesbian"; meaning she believes being gay is a choice and healthier for women than heterosexuality.
      Nobody should listen to someone that confused about sexuality on any topic relating to gender/sex/uality. Unless, it is a case study.

    I do really appreciate Julie and jave heard her speak on several videos. One thing as a man i think needs to be adressed and that is masculinity. Denying or suppressing the physicality and capacity for violencem of men is counter productive. male physicalitu needs to be acknowledged and positively directed. Calling out violence against women and violent porn is needed. Men learning to respect women and to channel physicality positively is critical to prevent make violence against women. The mating crisis and huge demographic shadow poses a far more significant threat than vague concepts like liberation. I agree violence is the enemy. Not men. Not women. As someone who was molested by his mother (as were my brothers ) I’d have to say lets end violence.
    Aggression can be overt or covert. Walk through any elementary school in the states and you’ll hear mainly women screaming at mainly boys. Thats violence. Abuse. And its very sadly common.
    I would say only a relative minority of pornography is sadistic much of it nowadays involves role-play, cosplay, and almost all of it, involves some aspect of incest.
    Sexual violence is most perpetrated vis-à-vis incest . Father daughter, mother, priest against parishioner.
    No one wants to talk about this it’s not being talked about in school because well schools are run by parents and government (which is also elected by parents).
    Again the sex trade is evil, but I know it’s not accounting for most of the rape and molestation of little boys little girls, men and women . Its incest.
    Not some cabal not some international devil worshiping pornography ring - it’s my mom, your dad, your uncle it’s your brother your doctor …

Individual men like you exist and we need to all get together against the real enemy, predators, of whom there are many women who need to be addressed and not ignored. We will get more done if we just focus on preventing and prosecuting crimes and dealing with offenders regardless of who they are, instead of always arguing rarer crimes are irrelevant and only one gender is guilty.

      @@mistressofstones The pattern of female abuse is different to male abuse. It's principally verbal and psychological, only becoming violent when psychological methods fail, and even then the violence will tend to be "accidental", like a little shive down the stairs, or a door accidentally slammed on your hand. Over time psychological abuse is easily as bad as physical. That's why the CIA use it. It's extremely common for women to behave this way in the family. It is not easy to detect, particularly since no one wants to report it, even if very badly injured. I don't know how to resolve that, but if it's ignored then these problems, including violence of men towards women, will never end.

    This video is really sad. It's sad how Feminists view violence as fundamentally 'male' thing and believe that all women are systemically oppressed, and conflate sexual exploitation of women with freely chosen legal sex work. Having said all that, I do commend Bindel for her work on helping to end violence against women and girls. I just wish it wasn't with such an appalling and misandric view of male sexuality. I truly believe that many Feminists are terrified of male sexuality and don't give enough credit to female agency. Instead, they believe that women are all oppressed and unable to make our own decisions. The only people who have ever told women that we are oppressed are Feminists.
    Watching this makes me glad that I am not a Feminist.

    • @Jamakaya1
      @Jamakaya1 Рік тому

      Are you suggesting that if feminists did not 'tell' women that they are oppressed, women would not feel or be oppressed? There is a reality that underlies that contention, with loads of quantitative survey and client data from International (the UN's WHO), NGOs (Human Rights Watch) national (CDC in the US), county and local bodies recording inequitable treatment of women in terms of health, education, employment, law enforcement and judicial systems, legislative representation, banking and finance, media representation, corporate governance, ad infinitum. You also seriously need to look at the hard data on violence against women. Its incidence, its ubiquity, its organized nature, its malevolence is disturbing. You cannot begin to address violence against women if you don't honestly discuss its perpetrators, who are overwhelmingly male.

      I’m not a feminist either, but I will never accept the buying and selling of humans for sexual gratification as normal or desirable. I would never want my own daughter to be in a situation whereby that were presented to her as a desirable job if she ever fell on hard times. If a person genuinely gets off on it, then go ballistic, but stop trying to foist the view that it’s “harmless” or even “desirable” on everyone else; there’s a reason that when you sign on at the job centre they don’t tell you to go and apply for jobs in the sex industry and I hope it stays that way.

    • @therationalfemale
      @therationalfemale Рік тому +1

      @@SG-wx8zm interestingly I changed my views on sex work a while back and agree that it's not really good for society because in an ideal world nobody would feel the need to either visit a sex worker or become one. However, there are some women who do genuinely enjoy those jobs, and the better option would be to at least make sure their work environment was safe i.e. in a licenced brothel. There are also men who are unable to get sex elsewhere and so find going to a sex worker to be their only option. It's a very complex topic and seeing it as a black-and-white issue doesn't really help anyone.

They mostly come from troubled and poor background and this is what they find as way out. So, if you want more sane and less troubled society we need to go back to the start and that is parenthood. Second, we live in the system that encourages any kind of activity if you are making/getting money for it. How to stop someone to get brutalized for money, is to have society not so dependable on money (which would dissolve most of parenthood issues). You want to solve male violence? Deal with the root of the issues rather than trying to alleviate symptoms. What are the root cause of these issues? Lack of guidance, lack of intimacy, lack of positive relationships.
    As long as your societies perpetuate the villification and repression of male sexuality, you will continue to see insane people resorting to extremes for personal gain.
    That doesnt mean that I think we should be rewarding SA or that men pointblank deserve a woman, just that a lot of the issues stem from aforementioned issues, so dont try and twist my words and think Im enabling, supporting or defending SA or incels.
    Good luck getting anyone to care about the repression of male sexuality. Joke all you want and call me anything that makes you feel better about yourself.

    Only already the term male violence is such an obvious compartmentalization which is super problematic. It implies exclusivity and is a vast generalisation: all men have this issue since they are male. Why not stick with 'violence' being 'violence' and a violent human is a violent human regardless of sex. Then if you want do address the issue of violence, why not look at the root cause of a person becoming violent. Most of the time it's the upbringing. Human babies by default need to be loved and nurtured. Not receiving that love it needs will hurt the child and progresses into unloving behaviour and the capacity to objectify other people (subjects). I find feminism to be a compartmentalization or narrowing in of the broader issue that individual, emotional wounding (you maybe want to call it traumatization) is what is hurting societies and if you want to get rid of that, shaming and blaming whole groups isn't necessarily going to lead to more loving behaviour.

    Prostitution is based on this basic biologically based truth: the desire for, and the risks of, partnered sexual activity are not 100% equal either between the sexes or for individuals within the sexes. On a biological level, females take an enormous risk -- pregnancy -- that males do not. In addition, males on average have slightly greater desire for a sex partner than females. Thus, men who pay women are compensation for both his greater desire and her greater risk.
    If both parties are of the same sex, prostitution can still occur as the desire can be slightly more on one person's part than another and there can also be risk differences.

    I admire Julie bindel. But its undoubtedly a problem that was maybe not caused but certainly propped up by radical feminist thought. Her perception that we live under the patriachy is ideological and something parroted now by activists on the left. Ideas that gender is performative is somewhat true l, but ignores differences between men and women which is vital in conversations around stats when it comes to understanding what could actually be the cause of the pay disparities or understanding male behaviour and that maybe its not bad in and of itself and can't be trained out of people but its now used by trans rights activist to justify transition, entering into spaces etc. I admire her for actually focusing on womens issues and helping women because there are some things as women that effect us more then men and there was times where women were discriminated against for being women which she has helped but I wish she would accept that feminist thought including her ideological perspective has caused some of this.

A lot of the world is sexist - but it comes from women as much as men. Sexism in society can adversely affect men and women can be violent- look at child abuse . Men are also more likely to attack other men especially outside the home . Women can also rape - look at women who have had sex with underage boys

      Oh for goodness sake - of course, men can be victims of sexual violence, and sometimes women are abusive to men, the vast majority of sexual predators are MALE and the vast majority of victims are FEMALE. While the minority are, of course, important and relevant, why shouldn't she choose to focus on the majority?
      And women mat not be 'afraid to go out' or 'feel like victims', as you say, but that doesn't change the fact that they are far more likely to be victimised than men when they do go out!
      Male violence and sexual violence is a far bigger problem than female violence, and women are bearing the brunt of it, while being less able to defend themselves against men then other men.
      You're simply deluded if you think that men and women are equal in this regard. Bindel's simply prioritising the majority that she happens to be part of. She's done a damn sight more than most people for survivors of male violence.

      A) if you're not afraid to go out then that's great! But the vast majority of us are fucking terrified and wouldn't dream of leaving the house without a fully charged phone, a rape app and a self defence item after a certain time so she isn't really wrong there. B) most problems men face is because of the patriarchy. A system run and designed be men. Sure its sexist, but for the most part, it sure as hell ain't women enforcing it, its primarily men. C) definitely agree, though fathers are usually much more likely to be physical abusers or desert the relationship which has devastating effects, though women are also to blame for a lot of that. D) fully agree its absurd that she assumed only someone with a lenjs can rape that's just plain wrong.

    • @zeddeka
      @zeddeka 2 роки тому +2

      @@Wander-bo4sj A) Have to strongly disagree with you on some points. I don't know where you live, but I don't know a single woman who has a rape alarm on her phone, let alone a self defence item. B) The term 'patriarchy' is pretty nonsensical - in fact, the clumsy class based Marxist theory that drives a lot of radical feminist thought is entirely reductive. Men are not a coherent, unified monoculture 'class' any more than women, dogs, or the inhabitants of Kensington are. We are all individuals with our unique experiences. "Men" have no more in common with Boris Johnson or Jimmy Saville than "Women" have in common with Liz Truss or Moira Hindley. C) Women often play a major role in the upbringing of children and indeed are often just as responsible for conditioning men with violence and 'toxic masculinity'. Narcissistic personality disorder is just as common in women as it is in men. The historian Margaret MacMillan has written and talked at length about the historical role that women have played over thousands of years in demanding war and death, and often shaming men into it. Calling this 'patriarchy' is chauvinistic ideology. It's not as simplistic as that. D) Just a separate point here. I suspect that so much of the failure of radical feminists like Julie Bindell, Sheila Jeffreys, Linda Bellos et al is that they often appeared to be primarily concerned with creating a new hierarchy with themselves at the top of it. When they weren't telling heterosexual women whom they could and couldn't sleep with, they were engaged in the truly poisonous, bullying culture of 1980s radical feminism. Linda Bellos was accused of creating a 'points system of oppression' at her time working at Spare Rib. Other women who were involved in the movement, such as Lisa Power and Al Garthwaite have spoken out about how the brand of identity politics was highly oppressive. Al Garthwaite said it was used as a "means for some to shut others up and gain power." Others described it as like a "fundamentalist cult". E) The most tragic failure by far of the radical feminists was embodied by Linda Bellos. She was leader of Lambeth council in the 80s when the industrial scale sexual abuse of children was taking place on Lambeth council property. The official enquiry was absolutely scathing, and said that the council was dominated by people who were more concerned with pursuing their radical politics than protecting the children they were responsible for.
