I just wanted to thank Dani and her family for allowing the public to see into their lives. It was very generous. I was so glad that she spoke about the movie million dollar baby. When I saw that film I had a similar reaction. Life is still worth living even with a devastating injury. I'm not disabled but have spent a great deal of my time working with people in wheelchairs helping them regain some independence. I'm not discounting the challenges disabled people face everyday. Life is a gift and we all deserve to be respected as human beings. Peace and Love

As the second child of a mom who was also quadraplegic, from the now unheard of results of polio, I just want to commend this couple for their pragmatic way of looking at life. I was a child of the 50s, when men didn't "help" their wives with childcare or cleaning and cooking. But, of course, my parents had some equal responsibilities in this department long before it was acceptable and because of that I grew up into a woman who has always been amazed at how limiting some people view their situations. My mom was creative and practical, and loving and responsive. Just like this woman. Congratulations to both of you; you make the world a better place.

....for many, me included after 12 yrs infertility from 3 causes, 9 miscarriages, 3 miracle doctors and a now-29 yo perfect miracle, an amazing son!! But for many, there are MANY lives more rewarding and joyful that do not include children, due to personal choices (several friends) and they are as happy, joyful & rewarded without family as we are that are blessed with!!!!

Something I’ve learned is that being an inspiration isn’t about us, it’s about those who are affected by us. I don’t need or feel I’m inspiring at all- but I recognize that it keeps others going. How they feel doesn’t motivate me, but I understand I motivate them. We are just living as best we can for ourselves and our family. That’s our reward. The waves we create are felt beyond us, by others. Everyone makes waves- my inspirations and heroes don’t know they are just that.
    You are my kinda normal.

Robert, expand your spheres of acquaintances. In other words everything you get involved in will have people with OTHER interests and "spheres". Do something different. I bet there's LOTS of things you can do. Read about others who are paralyzed to see what they do to interact with people. Talk to librarians, professors at Universities, journalists at newspapers or your local TV station. Maybe someone knows about others in your situation and what they are doing or maybe they'll be interested in finding ways you could interact or communicate with others. Hope I'm not being obnoxious, you probably know all this and more. But there are SO many people looking for someone. It's hard for ANYONE to just "come across" the right person. You have to be inventive! Sending you love from this Grandma in Idaho!🙏❤️

I slipped on some ice and hurt my lower back. Most serious injuries are caused by slips and falls, not major accidents. I agree with her about the "inspiring." I walk with a cane now and people are nice when I'm out but I've noticed more women get the "inspiring" comments when they're out. They look like a great family. Sometimes a parent has a disability. It doesn't make them any less of a loving spouse and parent. People who criticize her for having kids are the same who criticize able-bodied people for NOT having kids, so who cares what trolls online think?

All of this was said because I’ve lived my life with sensory issues and high functioning ADHD ! It’s been about a decade since I’ve been out of public schools for a decade now and all I can say is that just like this family I’ve been blessed with a sis ( we are not twins) and a set of parents who have been my advocate since as long remember. I’m at a point in my life where. If I want to have kids i’m still debating whether or not I should. And for all those years I’ve been put into a box and demands of other peoples words. My dad had a lipoma on the back of his head that due to him taking blood thinners for a vascular condition couldn't suspend it to have it removed since he could bleed especially being on the scalp. I had one lady on a plane ask me what that thing was on the back of his head and I just politely answered that it wasn't affecting him and it would cause him more harm than good to remove. The smallest part of what makes a good parent is their physical mobility weather, impaired or not. While a disabled parents may not to be able to do some tasks in the exact same physical way as an abled parent they can still do it in their own way of doing it as a disabled person while completing the same task. Love has nothing to do with disability , human equality is equality and norm is relative.

Everyone says “inspiring” i get that she tires of hearing that. I was paralyzed for only 4 days due to Cuada Equina (hurt my back in lumbar region) and in that short 4 days, I began to mentally prepare myself for it to be permanent w 2 boys to raise. Life can change at any moment. So while using the word “inspiring” may not be the best word, it is what comes to my mind as I now always must realize I can reinjur and be right back where I was. Her story helps me see that I wont have to give up on life and if she can raise twin infants then I need not pity myself into hiding from the world if the time comes.
