As a 50-something, looking ahead to those older years sneaking up on me faster than I want, I do NOT look forward to this ai future. me, and many people in older generations are highly skeptical of this new technology, and will be very abrasive to it when it inevitably gets dumped on them as a sorry excuse to deny human contact. I absolutely dread this coming ai world. this is not good at all. I am already lonely enough in life in this fast changing alien world, and now "robot companions" for seniors?...... NO THANKS!!!!!

    Just making notes while watching:
Study done on agreement with AI diagnosis measured whether or not doctors would agree with AI diagnosis when it recommended treatment, even knowing that the treatment would create adverse reactions or even death of the patient. This was a liability study. It measured how doctors would weigh their LEGAL LIABILITY for making decisions with or against AI recommended treatments that resulted in possible legal action. They found that, yes ... Doctors overwhelmingly agreed with the AI recommendation... But because agreement created a perceived liability release... Not because the recommendation was correct, as it was designed to be incorrect.
Having this information makes a great deal of difference in the perspective of that agreement, how doctors view AI involvement, and how the perceived public and legal system are thought to view doctors using it when the outcome is patient death or injury.

has there been any interest in in previously reenforced systems. Where older systems check new systems. As an example where older hand written systems go over new systems to act like a check system for new systems. That way the new things can build upon the old. First from hand written systems to the the new.

@@bensabelhaus7288 I was recklessly prescribed narcotics that have really fucked up my life for 17 years by a doctor too idiotic and lazy to do the most basic research. He also didn't get me the help I needed when he diagnosed me with OCD 10 years before that. AI would have forced him to recognize the problems with me right away and also exactly what to do.
I sued the bastard and won.

The problem with AI are the mistakes thát a doctor may not detect and do a bad treatment. And of course the loss of jobs.

AI does catch a lot of things doctors miss. Microsoft's CTO talked about how his mom had thyroid problems and went to the hospital, but in West Central Virginia the healthcare system is overworked and understaffed. He pulled out GPT-4, entered all her symptoms and it gave the correct diagnosis. He could afford to get her to a specialist 400 miles away, but so many others are stuck. If AI was implemented in healthcare, what we already have is enough to relieve a lot of the burden in areas where populations are aging and no doctors want to move there.
Yeah AI will replace a lot of jobs, but we've known that transition was coming for a long time. It's just that now it's here.

My partner had a hysterectomy at a UC hospital employing the Da Vinci machine, and it seems to have gone very well....
    But I hope they aren't using ChatGTP to fill in my medical records. ;*[}
Oh....they are....yikes! Well, as long as they're overseen by a human....to me, it's not about making the records neat or more efficient, it's about maybe teasing out the doctor's intuition.

Though medicine has made such progress advances but still it still cannot cure to all illnesses, its very distressing to see jobs in such condition and with all that hardworked wealth gathered long hours and in end it cannot buy you the most vital aspect in human beings, a good health, and i keep pointing out in my writing, what you should put value on, the value on keeping good health, to keep your enviorment surroundings clean, away from chemicals pastics filth garbage waste properly managed, to make sure if you are wealthy rich, how to use that richness while you are alive,so it doesnt fall into hands of vultures, human mind and its devious way of working, they have placed millions prices on deads artisans work, pocketing that also, and how richness resources can maybe a fraction to be used for others also, maybe fund researches or pick anything which benefits socities along with your families.

AI will simply take the “human touch” out of our healthcare delivery system. It will make the “patient/provider relationship” a thing of the past. It will make positive impacts in some areas but there are far more risks associated with it. It will make healthcare simply transactional. Not a fan…I am skeptical.

@@evanberger7144In personal experience, AI is blatantly obvious and it's condescending.
If you need to see patterns in things, just ask an Autistic person to have a look. We don't need AI we need Autistic Individuals to be involved in literally translating mental health for supposed healthcare experts. You cannot speak on these matters truthfully unless you actually experienced them.
I am a botanist and anthropologist as a result of my autism special interests (social masking requires studying people constantly and mimicking) You cannot identify a plant or a culture by reading about it or being taught it. You have to know the plant or the person. You have to touch it's bark, the leaves, the smell, the soil to truly understand the tree and how to utilize it to it's best advantages. It's the same with people.
We can thrive in the world we evolved to be in. We are not domesticated. We literally cannot thrive in modern cramped settings with a lot of predators.
We are the original neurotype. We are neurotypical. The humans that evolved to live under less ideal conditions are the neurodivergent. Unfortunately we are both sharing an anatomy that is evolved for the diet and living conditions.
We adapted early on to your need to write stuff down. All we need to communicate is trust, and that's not the spoken word of man.
