I#356 Good morning, Carolyn. I climbed "Wizard Island" back in 1969 when I was much younger! I, too, walked part of that trail, so I know what you are talking about. The view is splendid and the lake is nearly 2,000 feet deep.
This is the happiest I've seen you since your little Capone crossed over. I know he is making this journey with you in Spirit .God bless and enjoy every moment!

Crater lake is mesmerizing. Under the right conditions it can be a perfect mirror with the sky....and the water appears a deep blue. I haven't been there in 20 years, but your video brought back fine memories.....recommend this to everyone.....but make reservations long in advance if you want to stay in the lodge during peak times

Interesting how the trees have a slight bend at their base. Almost like they were seeking light when they were growing. Keep trucking lady! You are doing great. I envy you this trek.

200 miles - WooHoo 🙌😊 I haven't been to Crater Lake in a long time... need to see it again & walk the rim trail ( without snow 😉 ha!) I have Merrill boots, but I absolutely LOVE my Altra Lone Peak 3.5. The Altra Timp 1.5's are great too 😍👍 Happy Trails Carolyn

Carolyn your so brave! I don’t know if you remember wearing high heals but I do and screw that. Sore feet doing what you love! Well ok😏 The last time I saw Crater Lake was when I was 16...I’m 62, I think I need to set a goal. The wide shots you shared were amazing, they made me cry 😅 The quite in the woods made me gasp...I really felt it. I can only add that I'd love to do the PCT one day, but have no idea where to to start or begin or the next thing to do after deciding to take on the journey without any prior experience other than 1 weekend hike as a teen and a few other day hikes as an adult. Always love hiking tho! Each and every time... 💕

Love the water moving for your break time. It’s interesting how these life challenges have their core bits. Trees, trees, monotonous similarity, the feet, the water supply. My trek through the Upper Peninsula this month for my project had that monotonous forest thing. I just about went nuts! Even beauty can lose its charm when there’s no variety. On the return loop I opted for hours of urban blight and south Chicago “war zone” rather than repeat those long two-lane forests. Haha! Glad your Merrels are working for you. Knowing that made my feet feel good. You’re doing great. Thanks so much for sharing it.
Wow! Visted Crater Lake as a child, but haven't been back since. I need to make a trip up there. Congratulations on your trek and hitting 200 miles!!! That's awesome!

Such beautiful amazing scenery! Wow !! Crater lake is so blue, my daughter and her husband hiked to Crater lake on a day trip and she was also amazed and awwe struck by its beauty. I admire you for living your dream and again thanks for sharing.
I've never hiked the trail but my husband and I did get to drive around it once. The other time we were there it was snowed in and we had just a short window to view as it fogged in almost immediately after we arrived. Its spectacular.

My first time to Crater Lake was in the 60s on the 4th of July . Got there after dark by morning there was 12 inches of snow on the ground!!

I've been there ! There's a cliff you can jump off into the lake ! You'll jump right back out.... The water is super cold !
