An amazingly perfect adaptation, great music and lyrics, with small touches of humour, nice scenery, beautiful costumes, sweet and moving acting. I simply adore this musical!
A musical "modern" version of P&P that reminds me of Persuasion 2022 and P&P 1940 at the same time. Is this the current style of interpretation now? 😂 This may be due to the demands of the medium itself but while my love for the book may possibly carry me through this (it's been an agonizing hour), let me just say I'm very grateful for the ability to hit pause.
I am personally not a fan. It seems like a very shallow take on P&P, more like a parody. I feel the singing added nothing to it and were just bad. I think it was the first song about being headstrong sealed it for me but I sat through the entire production to be sure (ffwd through many parts) - I definitely don't like it and I'm glad I didn't pay to see it.
have you ever seen or heard " First Impressions" another musical adaptation of the same book? an altogether more 1950's take on the material but maybe more to your taste?
