After seeing this show's west coast debut, probably becoming a pest to much of its cast and Paul Gordon on social media, owning the cast recording, and using a lyric as the epigraph of a modern take being shopped to publishers, I don't think there are words for how delighted I am this is available. Thank you!!!
The show is beautiful! Thank you thank you thank you for sharing it! Crossing my fingers for a re-release of the cast album as well, the music is especially gorgeous
I saw this at the Chicago Shakespeare and I asked for the soundtrack which they then decided to create because so many people requested it! Glad to see all the original casts in this ❤
This is the first time I watched this play on stage and I love it. Marianne's singing voice is beautiful. It was her singing that caught my attention. Thank you for bringing this wonderful play to us!
It’s literally such a perfect musical, this is my fav Jane Austen and no one could’ve written a musical as well!! Wish I could’ve seen this live or have the soundtrack or something…it’s just wonderful!! x
i watched this for the first time when it premiered at cst, and bought the cast recording on the spot. it's stuck with me through today and when i realised i'd lost the cd two years ago during a move i was inconsolable. i couldn't find the cd anywhere online and wrote to cst as a last resort without any real expectations of a response, but they pulled through and i was able to get my hands on another (precious!) copy of the cd. and now this!! i'm so glad more people will get to experience this lovely piece of theatre!!
what im noticing is one of my favorite things about paul gordon musical adaptations is that so many of the characters are allowed to be phisically comedic and i love it! it makes the musicals and the characters themelves all the more charming!
Thanks so much for watching. And check out our Pride and Prejudice and Emma on this same playlist (the Saturday matinee) or at www.StreamingMusicals.com
It was really wonderful to see it live. The performances were uniformly moving. But it was nowhere as dark as the video shows. Here is a link to a photo of the entire set. I am mystified that we never see this set whole on the video. newcitystage.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/CST_SENSE_06_LizLauren-e1430453623887.jpg
I know you have extended the musical online for quite a few hours longer than proposed, but is there any chance of keeping it for some 5-6 hours more? I will not be able to watch it in the next three hours and I’m in the half of it, enjoying it so much bc as someone from South America it’s unlikely I’ll ever have the chance to see it in person. Either way, great job!! Loving all the actors and actresses, and the light work is phenomenal xx
@@STREAMINGMUSICALS thats great! I’m waiting to have my drivers license test and if I get it, nothing better than a musical to celebrate, and if I fail, nothing better than Austen to cry to
I love this musical. It breathes new life into one of my favorite Authors stories. I can hardly wait to see Pride and Prejudice and Emma for example. @@STREAMINGMUSICALS
So far it's not my favorite adaption for an Austen work, but the production is beautiful! I hope to finish it before it's taken down. The Willoughby song is honestly so good though, and the orchestrations are beautiful. Will there be a spotify release possibly?
Thank you for doing this. Is this PG? I have a 12 year old who loves everything Jane Austen and I'd like to know if this is appropriate for her to watch.

Do you know where you can find the soundtrack? I saw this at the West Coast premiere with the same cast years ago and would LOVE to have it!
No soundtrack yet as there are union rules about such.. but we're working on it!
Always love to see Megan! Sharon was gorgeous in this role, as well!
Thank you, Chicago Shakespeare Theater and all the actors, for this delightful, heartwarming, and altogether charming adaptation!
Thank you for sharing this lovely musical!

Wonderfully done!! Thank you so much for making this available.
Saw this live and have the soundtrack in my car. Beautiful! Thank you for preserving this.
There’s a soundtrack?!
@@DelphaDawn yes, the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre produced a cast recording CD in 2015. It was available in their gift shop/bookstore.

Ok you are one of the lucky few who got a copy of that limited print CD! Hold on to it as no more can be printed!

This was so lovely! Thank you so much for posting this beautiful adaptation 💖
Very well done! Great adaptation, score and acting.
It was so wonderful to see it again! Thank you!
Thank you!
I saw the show in Chicago and very happy to see it here. I am disappointed that the lovely set is kept mostly hidden and in darkness in the video.
You're lucky you actually have a memory of it.. Can you share what you remember? We'd love to hear. :)

Thank you James T.! We have no plans for spotify as yet, but will keep you posted. We thank you for your Austen Knowledge!:)
Is this soundtrack available online? I'd love to be able to listen to the songs!

I watched it live. It's def PG, and was lovely.
It is absolutely PG --
I saw it when I was twelve and it was my favorite thing ever for a very long time. So glad I get to relive that experience
Where is the mother? I miss her
Paul had to make some choices because of the length of theatre pieces. We hear you but we hope you enjoyed it!
All that much more effort cos of Mrs Dashwood?
sometimes the author makes artistic decisions for themselves and we have no control :)
