I agree. The spiral arrangement does really add to the effect of the overall piece and, in my opinion, allows each individual “slice” to stand out better from the ones around it and puts a greater emphasis on the fact there there are multiple types and pieces of wood in this piece.
You should post how many hours it takes on a project. I love your work. Not to many quality craftsmen left in the world today. You have restored my faith in humanity Sir.. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Hi Andy. I am an experienced turner and love turning videos. Very seldom do I learn something new and interesting. You have shown me a process that has sparked all kinds of new ideas with different angles to try. I’m excited to get to turning again. Thank you kind sir. Great video and beautiful job.
Wow! Simply gorgeous!! I love the shape, the colors of the different pieces of wood you chose, and how the different wood grains all came together to make one beautiful piece.
Greetings from Germany! Really stunning (again) to see what one can create with the skills you developed! And I have to admit, watching wood spinning is kind of hypnotic!
Completely obsessed with watching u work ..it’s only been 2 days since I found u😂but ur work is fvckn amazing and I find it therapeutic to watch ..no music,no talkin ..jus the machines & the pieces. thnx for sharing ur truly amazing talent ..Mooky♥️
Classic shape with modernistic styling, absolutely love it Andy. The spiral pattern of the segments adds that little “something extra”. Always a pleasure watching your videos. Regards Geof
Splendid! How much we take for granted while shopping any wooden art work! Precision to make a full 360 degree circle with 24 pieces in the first go was something to marvel at! Also it was quite relaxing to have no background music or constant jibber with running commentary :)
My Friday alarm is set 15 minutes early just to wake up early enough to watch your videos. This is one of my favorites Andy. I'll definitely be giving this a try.
lovely job Andy i like the way it all looks hypnotic in a way, i see myself looking at one wedge then onto its neighbour then next and so on, nice and vibrant choices of timber you scored again mate cheers Ross
Congratulations Young man! Some pieces of wood, in their hands, have become a beautiful work of art. God bless you and empower you more and more, for even more beautiful and perfect works. Believe me, you have fans in Brazil.
Absolutely gorgeous!! Watching you create such gorgeous pieces is soothing to me. I especially loved the mug you made. I would love to have a mug that was made by you so I could fill it with my favorite tea, snuggle in and watch you make more beautiful, things. Much love and hugs and blessings to you 😊😊💞💞
I love the way that the different colours of wood appear to spiral towards the middle and the process was really interesting. I love the finished platter, (though, I think I would have put the purple heart in between 2 lighter colour woods, rather than next to the black, as it would have shown up better). I still love it! 😍
Damn it! This channel makes me want to buy a lathe. I used to have one but no space so I sold it. Now I have a garage and no lathe. Damn You and Thank You!!
Really beautiful Andy. I'm a beginner turner and videos like this inspire me to keep going and creating new interesting ideas with different woods. Awesome stuff sir. Keep em coming!!
I didn't even notice as you were assembling this, that the points did not "point" to center, Andy. That is very creative and makes all the difference in this piece. Really cool! Great job and entertaining video, too! Phil
When I saw those sections of wood going together I just knew it was headed to be Stunning and it most certainly did turn out that way, the dark centre just sets it of to perfection
Ok. I just had to pause this video for two reasons. One, that compass/jig/wood guide/saw pusher is genius. Two, awesome demonstrative use of practical geometry. Two parallel lines with a line intersection not on a perpendicular, opposing interior angles will be equal.
When you were hand turning, the pattern on the screen. If you would have voiced on the video at that time "You will send me $1000" you might have hit it rich. Almost hypnotic. I really like the spiral slant with the different blocks. Looks real nice.
Pretty piece! I never cease to be amazed at the skill levels demonstrated all over the "Net" (nor amazed at the 100's of thumbs down clicks; what the Hell is wrong with people)...
So...You're from the future? Yes! I'm from the year 2020, 30 years from now. Hmm.....what do you watch on TV? A lot of different things! We even got a channel where this guys makes really cool stuff out of wood using a lathe. When is he on? Oh, we watch a new show whenever it comes out! How does that work. We hit the SUBSCRIBE button! What?
You, sir, are a ray of sunshine with the beauty you bring to this world. I sincerely hope to enjoy some of your work in my hands some day!
Brilliant as always. I love how the dark brown centre connects to the spokes.
With all those contrasting colors that's really beautiful, Andy. I especially like the way the segments spiral rather than have a pie shape.
Yeah that wouldnt have looked very cool

Always a pleasure to watch you turn. Thanks mate
Stunning Andy, as usual. Your segments clearly go together with no spaces between pieces. You are a true artist! Cheers, Sean
So much color in this piece. So beautiful...
Thanks again for sharing your process in making these beautiful works of art ! I love the angle cutting jig !
The top angle gives it a completely different view. As somebody that’s never tried this it was help to see what you see and not a flat face angle.
Beautiful result Andy! The spiral effect with the different woods is quite stunning.
Beautiful job, I'm from Brazil and I love to see your work
Beautiful Andy. You did a tremendous job. Very creative. Thank you for this video.

That fixture for cutting the wedges is straight up slick.
I love the way that the different colours of wood appear to spiral towards the middle and the process was really interesting. I love the finished platter, (though, I think I would have put the purple heart in between 2 lighter colour woods, rather than next to the black, as it would have shown up better). I still love it! 😍

So beautiful! I love the spiral effect 😀
Stunning work Andy! 👌👌👌
Gorgeous. Thank you for sharing
I watch your video from France because I am french and they are awesome. I really like your job buddy !
2:35 - Impressive to have no visible error adding up 24 cuts.
Grant Trotter I myself was thinking how perfectly that final piece fit.
It is! Any slight error in the angle is multiplied by 24!
Yeah. Definitely making myself one of those adjustable jigs if I end up with a table saw in my workshop.
Love the colors, another great piece of work 👍
