Hey thank you. As always: SOLID choices. HOWEVER, there is one album I wish you talked about. A while ago you did a great interview with Andromeda Anarchia - there's a Jazz / Metal / Opera album she's singing on, which came out 2024: La Suspendida. I wish you talked a little about this one. For me one of the best Albums in 2024, period. Doesn't fit in any category really; that "Jazz/Metal/Opera" description is a criminal oversimplification... If you didn't already, please check it out. Peace & Love
@@heavymetalphilosophy There's even a book about La Suspendida, written by the author of the libretto, William Berger, if you want to dive deeper into it. You will enjoy both the story and the language, I promise you. Berger is a brilliant (and very entertaining) writer.
Many thanks for convincing me to play Barbarian Hermit on my long (and frigid) morning walk. A great album and the music is right in my wheelhouse. They were on my radar back in August but I never got around to listening to them. I have no doubt that I will be listening to this album, as well as their 2018 debut, quite a bit more in the coming weeks. I am also very happy that you included Tribulation, Swamp Coffin, Mother of Graves and Iotunn (my personal album of the year) in your list.
Amazing list! Black Tusk, Mother of Graves and Iotunn! I'm a big Sludge/Doom/Stoner Metal fan. I appreciate you making this extra "Oddball" list. Speaks volumes to the fact that you are willing to listen to good music outside of your preferred genre. Congrats on 200. Here's to another 200. Upwards and onwards!
YES! Barbarian Hermit are so awesome! Also a few new stuff in there which i didn't know. Thank you! That Barbarian Hermit album is like playing a 45 on 33 kind of heavy with some Woody Weatherman of COC inspired riffing thrown in! 🤘x5 An honorable mention for this list, Blue Heron "Everything Fades". I found this band on this channel bought the vinyl and had a short email exchange with the band. Super cool dudes if you would like to interview them and explore the desert rock/metal thing and pass along a message "Thank you for making the drums colossal. Heavy guitars need them big drums! 🤘x6
Spent A LOT of time with Barbarian Hermit when it came out and even my wife liked it, but I was very pleasantly surprised to see it here. Swamp Coffin also took up much of my time this year and I loved it so much I am now the proud owner of a 'Bastard Club' tee. Funnily enough, the intro of Pazuzu's "Muuntautuja" track actually reminded me of Death Grips' "No Love"
