The little grin on the dude towards the ending guitar solo........ That’s when you know this beautiful piece of music can just reach out and touch the feelings of anyone!!
Thats why its great when you get older. You learn you need to hang out with everybody. Music is great because it brings everyone together. Good shit, Preston
what I love about these reaction videos is that other cultures are finally listening and finding out that you are not excluded! this music is meant for everyone! love it like we do
I look back, because listening to this song for the first time was a transformative experience, some things you just wish you could experience for the first time twice.
Land Of Soil I do to. I’m just happy I didn’t just listen to one thing. Now I can say I hate CUNTry and cRAP. Bluegrass has some amazing musicians also.
Don't sweat it Preston, you're making up for it now. Plus it's all new to you and a fun and exciting experience and you're taking all of us peeps who have heard this music all our lives with you and that's pretty Awesome. Listen to The Doors and Rolling Stones too since you're doing the Classic Rock thang now. I think you'd like When the Music's Over, Roadhouse Blues, Love me two times and L.A. Woman by The Doors.
As one Hip-Hop head to another. . . even if you were a rapper. . DONT do ANYTHING to Dave Gilmour's guitar solo. . . let that magic play with no words, no rhymes, no jingles over it. If you listen closely, you'd realize that he's speaking and has been through the whole session. .if'n ya dig. . . Didnt ya feel it?
gurney85 he talks, laughs, cries and sings through his guitar solos tbh. Ive been bought up on floyd and David gilmour he’s a massive influence on my own guitaring
I remember sitting in a car in a corn field somewhere in Alabama, About 16, with pot growing all in the corn and smoke rolling out of the car like a Cheech and Chong movie.lol. with Pink Floyd blasting. Love the 70's
The Wall is a concept album, you would understand the intro to this song better if you listened to the entire album, which tells a self contained story across all the songs. The songs are great individually, but they work even better as an overall whole.
"One simply does not listen to pink floyd on shuffle" They are rock operas that loose so much when you pull individual tracks out. Most of their albums didn't even have tracks, just one entire side of a record, and even when you flip it over its a seamless transition. You should do the entire album 'wish you were here'... and dont pause it too much. I would love to listen to it and watch you flip out. You would be surprised what it would do to your numbers.
Yep. Some of our old fart $hit's not bad. I'll be 70 this year and loved this almost 50 yrs ago at 21 or 22. Late 60s to late 70s (the decades) were a trip, young man! Exactly, Zone Out!
Your tastes are outstanding! David Gilmour on guitar. They make you feel like you've smoked even if you haven't. Just deeply chilled and thrilled. Ck out Shine On Crazy Diamond.
Seriously, this song gets better every time you listen to. I'm only 33 but I grew up listening to Pink Floyd. This music has got me though many tough times in my life. I love how you point out how music can hit the soul and this song right here is my gospel. Also I echo what others have said, listen and watch this song from their Pulse tour. The DVD of that concert is a masterpiece!
You missed out on a lot of music, but we all do because it is all around the world. But Floyd, oh, I remember when dark side of the moon came out. College almost stopped for a few days. Students and teachers were amazed. And I am sure you heard music I never heard. So there it is. Enjoy this.
The thing about The Pink Floyd is that you never know what the hell is going on unless you listen to their albums from start to "finish". They're concept albums are ridiculous
Do you think he would benefit by knowing the history of the band, the history of Roger Waters, in the making of The Wall? It's a great album, I'd certainly be here for that. Or is he better off going in not knowing? He reacts to lyrics very well and the lyrics to The Wall tell a story. The story encompasses the entire album. So yeah he'd have to do the entire thing. Love that idea.
There is a version where David Gilmour (the guitar player and the singer of "your lips move.....") played a concert just after Prince died. In the middle of the last solo he switched over into the solo of Purple Rain. Absolutely awesome. Best tribute ever of one great musician to another great one. You probably can find it on UA-cam.
Please REACT to Ted Nugent's song, "Jailbait." Ted Nugent brags about raping a 13 year old girl in that song. ua-cam.com/video/O3XGupYHGUE/v-deo.html In his VH1 Behind the Music, they also interview Pele Massa the underage girl that he adopted to have sex with. He admits to having sex with several underage girls in his "Behind the Music" saying that their parents were in on it, and that they said better him than some drugged out teenage dirtbag. Several people have have also accused him of having underage sex with them. One was 12 years old at the time. Read the lyrics to his song, "Jailbait." He brags about raping a 13 year old girl. Trump invited this pedophile to the White House.
Man, I appreciate your appreciation of PF.. Still goose bumps after 30 years of discovering Pink Floyd..To see the young generation enjoying their music is refreshing.. Well done fella!! Keep it up. Cheers & respect...
I think the reason you missed out on a lot of good music is because of the Black and White cultural divide. Lots of people from both sides missed out on some really good music because of this divide. Luckily for me, being raised in the early to mid 1970s allowed me to appreciate not only what is now called Classic Rock, but also quite a bit of Motown's R&B/Funk, eventually leading into Disco. Actually, I think Disco is where the two cultures merged, and for a few years everyone was listening to basically the same music. After Disco faded around 1980, we then saw the beginning of MTV and the emergence of British New Wave. I think it's then when the two cultures divided once again.
Never a cultural divide for me in the UK. I grew up listening to reggae, two tone, ska, glam rock, prog rock, disco, pop and Goth music. I've just diversified further as I've got older.
Left to their own devices, most people would listen to music because it's good regardless of genre. But people don't like it when we get out of whatever little box they want to put us in. My parents loved all music, and our house was filled with blues, soul, bluegrass, rock, all the time; they didn't monitor what I listened to. But I went to a really conservative school, with really conservative kids, One time were allowed to bring records from home to a school dance, and I brought Parliament Funkadelic "One Nation Under a Groove." When I got the guy that was spinning records to play it finally, it was the first time all night everyone seemed excited and wanted to dance. My classmates were all asking me "Who is that?" "What is that?" And the nuns got really pissed that I brought that album for some reason. The took it off halfway through the first song and made me leave the dance. No one was allowed to bring records from home after that. I was pretty much shunned for being a radical who listened to funk. Because of me, they couldn't bring their Barry Manilow records to dances any more. ..
It helped if you ever saw the documentary movie, Woodstock 1969. You got to see a lot of great music from a lot of different cultures in one show...Santana, Sly Stone, Hendrix, The Who, The band and a lot more.
This is very true. For the most part "Classic Rock" is considered by most to be "white people music" as if other ethnicities can't comprehend it... Which is utter rubbish. It's like saying white folks can't get R&B or Blues.
now you have the chance to listen to pink floyd albums for the first time (the albums are insane because each song blends into the next, with speaking inbetween or music ending and starting but you don't realise it's a new song, it all meshes into one beautifully, it's like listening to one really long song), it's magical and i wish i could do mine over again, it's like going to another spiritual plane, you never look back once you get hooked on floyd, hope you realise how lucky you are!
I saw this video and as I was concentrating on your face while listening, I saw a commonality, a connection and I started to cry. I wasn't alone. We've been told our differences and falsely fed information on the outside. On the inside, we are the same, like from the same material, carbon mother, and the lights we decided to switch on to expose that fear, which turned out to be nothing at all. So much that we can share the world and SPACE together. I really want to thank you, from this blue-eyed soul brother- there is a world we have together and I love you so much for doing this project. Blessings, and thank you a thousand-fold.
"Wish You Were Here" is another great, beautiful, "feelings" song from Pink Floyd. Another, and perhaps my second favorite "feelings" kinda song from them is "Learning to Fly" from "Momentary Lapse of Reason", just beautiful, sublime. Makes me imagine... no actually FEEL like I'm flying... levitating and directing my direction, unfettered by gravity and fear.
50 year old white guy here. Just stumbled on you today. Man, you are awesome. Glad you found some of our old school and you were able to reach into our time transcend perspectives so well. Subscribed. Best to you. You have a great feel for music and all it entails.
When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse Out of the corner of my eyes I turned to look but it was gone I cannot put my finger on it now The child has grown, the dream's gone I have become comfortably numb
Same way bro, I feel exactly the same way. Grew up in a rougher neighborhood where mostly people listened to hip hop. My dad was a huge rock and roll enthusiast, plus he had a big collection of cds and memorabilia. Your environment definitely shapes you and I feel that I missed out as well on this whole generation of music which created pop culture and influenced so much of the music we listen to today. I feel that even though I’m experiencing something new for the first time, I want to have someone to share it with. I want there to be memories behind the songs. I want to get high while Jim Morrison breaks on through to the other side. I wanna zone out to pink floyd and have barbecues for friends and family with ac dc playing in the background. I feel you for sure, and thats coming from one hip hop head to another. And I think that diversifying your taste in music is what makes you mature in life, what defines your character as a human being. Even rock and roll listens are listening to hip hop now, because it prides them certain feelings and highs you cant get with rock (and vica versa). Ultimately, take it one day at a time cause everything in life has a place, and lets just open our eyes and ears to everything around us to experience the whole picture.
Must do the whole album! It’s what’s called a concept album. The whole record has a theme that runs from start to finish. It follows a single character from childhood to adulthood. Amazing creation
Your Pink Floyd reactions give me goosebumps, man. I can see you zoning out and I get the chills like I did when I first listened to them and how they made me feel... and still do. Love your channel. Your genuine and hearfelt responses make you a pleasure to share music with.
I forgot to ask for a request and I'd love very very much if you could react to Jeff Buckley. His voice was a beautiful gift taken from us way too soon and if I could sing like anybody it would be him. Try the following link of one of his best live performances filmed for UK television show, but anything by him will do. ua-cam.com/video/XjO4IenAyUw/v-deo.html

I grew up with band, I am 59 and let me tell you Pink Floyd just is part of my DNA , I literally get chills on their music, especially the guitar solos so masterful. I am so glad you enjoy them as much as I do.
Pink Floyd is an experience that's for sure! You have to hear this song in the loudest possible setting. When you feel it you'll get why they are still around.
You need to smoke a LOT of green beforehand or just 1 or 2 doses to get the true affect. No lie, I've seen the wall maybe 30 times and every single time I was tripping when I was a little younger. Crazy ass movie but I've never seen it sober lol
men with ven green is a pathetic, addictive retarding drug. Shrooms are the experience to have to the wall. They are truly something to experience occasionally through life, to be respected. They won’t let you abuse them it’s part of their so-called magic. For you to recommend phencyclidine is just pathetic and irresponsible.
men with ven sorry but green to most people is slang for parsley & pcp, apologies for the misunderstanding However you did mention tripping in your comment and Green. One doesn’t “trip” off of weed, just saying.
For a Floyd religious experience, you will need. 1. A Laptop computer, with good headphones 2. This tune, queued on youtube, 3. A big fat Bob Marley king size, packed to the tip with ganja. Method. 1. Smoke the blunt, with a coffee usually, and get absolutely buckled. TIP do this while sitting on a bed, or couch, close to items 1 and 2 so you dont move far. 2. Lie back, while wearing headphones, play this track nice and loud on the cans, and relax into your couch/bed while listening. 3. Pray at the church of Floyd, and send your soul on a journey. that is all. oh, and be nice to people.
Love this. Watched all your pink floyd reacts and it’s brilliant. Reminds me of how I REALLY felt hearing there stuff the 1st time and even now! Thanks dude, great content.

I went to a Roger Waters concert and I was interested to see who he would have play David Gilmour's part. He had *three different guitarists* play David Gilmour's part.
you need to watch Brit Floyd damien darlington play this........you will be surprised
I cringed when you stopped it before the end solo. I was like, "Nooooooo!!!!" LMAO!! Welcome to the show, bro. Glad to have you.
what I love about these reaction videos is that other cultures are finally listening and finding out that you are not excluded! this music is meant for everyone! love it like we do
I use to listen to nothing but Death Metal And a friend asked why would I limit myself and made me listen to Pink Floyd and have never looked back
Now that is a damn good friend
Same! Then another friend introduced me to Zappa.
I look back, because listening to this song for the first time was a transformative experience, some things you just wish you could experience for the first time twice.
I listen to both
Land Of Soil I do to.
David Gilmour's voice compliments his guitaring... heavenly.
He's the best guitarist ever n my eyes.
I want David Gilmour to sing me to sleep haha
David Gilmore one of the most soulful guitarists... Pink Floyd, their music and style is almost totally unique...just masters.
ChicagoTRS not almost. It is unique, no one like Pink Floyd imo
Gilmour.
Oh I totally agree.
Agree
gurney85 Totally agree
gurney85 he talks, laughs, cries and sings through his guitar solos tbh. Ive been bought up on floyd and David gilmour he’s a massive influence on my own guitaring
gurney85 totally agree, the music speaks volumes and evokes emotion words never could.
Wheeew.. all the WEED smoked to this song..
And acid dropped haha
Humm, I don't recall you being in my apt in the early 70s. I must've been stoned....,zoned out and gone! Understand ya!
I was born in the 70s lol
I remember sitting in a car in a corn field somewhere in Alabama,
About 16, with pot growing all in the corn and smoke rolling out of the car like a Cheech and Chong movie.lol. with Pink Floyd blasting.
Love the 70's
umm, sounds like you talkin past-tense...lol...it still works today! :)
I think this song is the national anthem of every pink floyd fans
Nah
Salvs
Wish you were here is the song your looking for fella
For me it's High Hopes
This and Shine on you daimond
Salvs agree
Out of hundreds of live concerts, best show I ever saw. Pink Floyd are on a pedestal all themselves.
Worth the wait and never too late to hear a masterpiece like this for the first time! Peace and glad to see your appreciation!
Pink Floyd is an experience that moves the soul. EPIC!!!
Absolutely. Headphones, Pink Floyd, relax. Repeat as needed for a good cleansing.
The Wall is a concept album, you would understand the intro to this song better if you listened to the entire album, which tells a self contained story across all the songs. The songs are great individually, but they work even better as an overall whole.
Descartesdom77 Yes! Do your self a favor and just take some time to listen to the whole album in one sitting. It's a real experience
I was just about to make this comment, song lyrics make much more sense when in context with the rest of the album
all pink floyd albums you mostly have to listen to them in their entirety.. eh most of them after meddle
100% agree with this. The whole album is a surreal trip, punctuated with incredible moving, impactful, unforgettable songs.
"One simply does not listen to pink floyd on shuffle"
They are rock operas that loose so much when you pull individual tracks out.
Rock on brother!!!
and while we at it who is the gilmore of your genoration who writes songs like roger ?
debashish kachari pretty sure he’s an actual boomer lol
WELCOME MY SON, WELCOME TO MECHINE, WELCOME TO PINK FLOYD!
Bootleg Justice yes!!
Keep it up Preston, the classic rock reactions you do are the best.
So many good pink floyd songs/albums
This one is really chill compared to some of their others
Literally...’zoning’ and remembering. Another stellar example of when music made you feel something.
Yo, you finally popped your Pink cherry. Now, you absolutely have to listen to Dark side of the moon in it's entirety, IT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND BRO!
Yes!
Yep!
when I first listened to dark side of the moon, shit, I was very...very impressed and I think my music "taste" leveled up
This song is on "The Wall" though.
Enjoy this.
I'm a little triggered by The Dark Side of the Moon album cover while listening to a song off The Wall.
I know. That is just wrong. I always skip this one and find the one with the Wall cover to listen to.
The first thing I noticed!
Lol
No big deal to me. He's just discovering Floyd and doesn't really know the albums. He'll eventually get there. :)
Same
Dude I can see/feel your reactions! It's awesome, Welcome to Floyd!
Nothing better than getting lit with Floyd in the background.
Yes used to take doobie rides with the husband a enjoy
The thing about The Pink Floyd is that you never know what the hell is going on unless you listen to their albums from start to "finish". They're concept albums are ridiculous
Dani Jones their**
Dani Jones this comment should have a ton of likes lol
@@Bigbrotherthunder oops. Was going to say something else but forgot to change it.
Dude, seriously, you need to do a complete The Wall reaction.
Frits Spieker send the link! I’d love to see that
@@alexanderdavis7103 ua-cam.com/video/UcDHXoQmxu0/v-deo.html
Of course a search on "David Gilmour purple rain"...
Music is patient friend...you often find it when you need it the most! =)
100% agree.
Heath Lawrence Amen, brother
That’s beautiful ❤️
Word
Man, I appreciate your appreciation of PF.. Still goose bumps after 30 years of discovering Pink Floyd..To see the young generation enjoying their music is refreshing.. Well done fella!! Keep it up. Cheers & respect...
You want something soul wrenching listen to Pink Floyd- The Great Gig in the Sky
Clarke Staton YES!!!!
He's like 12! I'm 41. I've heard all that old rock homey! FOH! Oh, and I'm BLACK!
This is very true. For the most part "Classic Rock" is considered by most to be "white people music" as if other ethnicities can't comprehend it... Which is utter rubbish. It's like saying white folks can't get R&B or Blues.
8:43 when he steals Preston’s soul like everyone else who’s ever heard this song .
It’s beautiful
You noticed and described that really nice!
Have a Cigar by Pink Floyd; Baby I’m Gonna Leave You by LED Zeppelin
Babe babe babe babe oh baby I'm gonna leave you
Shine On You Crazy Diamond! Also try Low Spark Of The High Heeled Boys by Traffic and Cant You Hear Mr Knocking by The Rolling Stones!
Wow dude.. never heard pink Floyd until this.. loved it bro!
Now you'll have the once in a lifetime opportunity to lay in bed in the dark and listen to dark side of the moon for the first time. Lucky bastard!
truth
now you have the chance to listen to pink floyd albums for the first time (the albums are insane because each song blends into the next, with speaking inbetween or music ending and starting but you don't realise it's a new song, it all meshes into one beautifully, it's like listening to one really long song), it's magical and i wish i could do mine over again, it's like going to another spiritual plane, you never look back once you get hooked on floyd, hope you realise how lucky you are!
Headphones on and enjoy
Type , music 1970s on you tube, learn, forget today electronica and rap, just listen and learn. Good to hear people still get bucked by their sound.
"Music to zone out to..." Yeah. Three generations of weed smokers can attest to that idea.
I literally just laughed out loud at that. 😂 Pink Floyd & the Greatful Dead.....the best when you got your buzz on. lol.
Fuck yea we can
Pink Floyd Welcome to the Machine will blow you away. The entire Wish you were hear and Dark Side of the Moon albums will blow you away.
My favorite song!!
Put on Dark Side of the Moon. Close your eyes and just listen.
Time!!!
Don't forget to roll a fat one 1st!!!
+Obi1kenobi10 Exactly what I was thinking :D
Kris K takes it to another level if your on magic mushrooms that's what they were doing and other things when they wrote this
I feel like he would cry if he did lmao
When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eyes
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child has grown, the dream's gone
I have become comfortably numb
One more epic Pink Floyd song for you: The Great Gig in the Sky. You'll love it.
styx85 best suggestion 10/10
styx85 I like the final cut.
Ah PF, so your journey begins😁 Enjoy my friend!!! Most of us would sell our soul to hear PF for the 1st time again. React to PIGS, my all time favorite PF song!!! GREAT REACTION ✌
You gotta listen to "time" from pink floyd now, "wish you were here" , "hey you", "shine on you crazy diamond", "money", those are the best of them
My heart is exploding with serious love rediscovering these songs with you Preston - thanks again - total joy
Love Pink Floyd. They have a ton of great songs. Learn to fly is another awesome one
Hey I totally feel ya on missing out on so much music, just due to not having been exposed, personally that is...but you're happy you got into it now..PF puts you in a trance and hits your emotions...repeatedly. Peace
Pink Floyd were an exceptional band.
*are
The wonder of being alive these days is that we can go back and experience all that music we missed with so much ease.
Listen and watch the live pulse version!!
Watch the movie. But get your head right before you do.
Yes you have to be straight up flying to watch this movie lmao
men with ven sorry but green to most people is slang for parsley & pcp, apologies for the misunderstanding
However you did mention tripping in your comment and Green. One doesn’t “trip” off of weed, just saying.
men with ven okay if you say so buddy
I was lucky enough to see them on the Division Bell tour, you will never regret listening to some rock. You rock brother!!!
Everything you said is right except throw on the vinyl it will blow your mind!
When those notes hit and your eyes get wide, that’s what it’s about buddy. Great song, that solo is timeless
You noticed that too. You can't fake that shit. He's feeling it.
Love this. Watched all your pink floyd reacts and it’s brilliant. Reminds me of how I REALLY felt hearing there stuff the 1st time and even now! Thanks dude, great content.
You should try "Marooned". literally, it is a masterpiece!
Gilmour does magic with his fingers!
I was A teen growing up to this, Pink Floyd was one of my favorites and David Gilmour is bad ass one of the best electric guitar players ever one of the best.. Glad you liked it..Even though telling you I was a teen who grew up to this gives away my age..
This might be (literally) the one thousandth time I've heard this solo and this viewing almost brought tears to my eyes!
Pink Floyd suggestions (a little biased cause they're my favorite band) - High Hopes, Hey You, On The Turning Away, Wish You Were Here, Time, Breathe (In The Air), Dogs Of War, The Great Gig In The Sky, Us And Them, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Welcome To The Machine, Terminal Frost (instrumental), Marooned (instrumental). Also take the time to watch Pink Floyd The Wall movie, and take the time to listen to their album Dark Side Of The Moon straight through, beginning to end. You'll be a Pink Floyd fan forever.
Listen to this guy. You def should listen to dark side of the moon all the way through
Live at Pompeii.
Don’t forget One Of These Days from Meddle.
