      @j.f.fisher5318 Рік тому +5

Yeah, introverted, and struggles with chronic depression (which gets worse when the world around her dies in the winter, which is what Perennial is about, reminding herself that spring will come and she can make it through). It's inspiring how she's able to overcome all that on stage, becoming what her art needs her to be.

I'm interested in music in different genres for over 50 years, IMO Jinjer is definitely different from any other band on this planet.
If this is not the case, please name this band....
and I will ask this question more often in the future until I get an answer at some point, or maybe not ;-) .......
Thanks for your interest in this band and maybe the next one:
"JINJER - Vortex (Official Video) | Napalm Records” and after this song another live song “JINJER - Who Is Gonna Be The One (Live) | Napalm Records"

If it helps:You’re definitely saying “Jinjer” correctly-you got this!
On the other hand, since “Wacken” is German, one would generally pronounce that with a “V” sound, like “Vacken.”

Came across this band about a week ago and I'm already a big fan. I don't think they're maybe as big as they could be because they don't neatly fit into one metal genre as well as other bands, they like to mix things up a lot. Some of their stuff is maybe more out there and experimental than some people are into - although they have their fair share of catchy bangers too.
Also apparently metal isn't very big in Ukraine, so it took them a good while to get noticed at all. They spent about 5 years gigging small venues in Eastern Europe which might account for why they're such a solid live act. As well as the lack of ego - they really seem really solid, down to Earth people.
They have a really cool and varied catalogue of music. If you're in the mood for a heavier performance of theirs you could check out - Sit, Stay, Rollover - Live in Melbourne 2020.

I've seen Jinjer live a couple of times and met them as well. Amazing live band. Tatiana never does her growls exactly the same. She improvises the tone and pitch and goes with how she is feeling it at that moment. Welcome to this incredible band. Buckel up! They get way heavier. 🤘

  • @j.f.fisher5318

Just saw your Pisces reaction so it's cool to see you followed up with Perennial. They'd planned to finish hard with a song called Sit Stay Roll Over but it was their first time at Wacken, they were the first band of the day, and there were technical issues that delayed the start of the set. Tati pushed hard to leave everything on the stage.
Lots more amazing stuff from them. They consider their lead sound tech for live performances to be a full member of the band for financial and decision-making purposes. Their artistry and professionalism are always top tier. These two are among their half dozen or so lighter songs, so it will start ramping up a bit from here on out. They'd planned to end hard with a piece called Sit Stay Roll Over but they were the first band as it was their first time in Wacken, and I'd also recommend checking out the video of Perennial even if not as a reaction. It's been overshadowed by that on-stage performance but is great stuff in it's own right. Pit Of Consciousness is another where that's happened and some have done double features with the live in Kiev (Kyiv) performance which is just a perfect storm of Jinjer awesomeness.

Hahhh I knew you would love it!!! Wacken is well known for a very good live audio quality but overall there are maaaaany incredibly great live records from Jinjer ... just like "Pit Of Consciousness" live in Kiev for example - it lacks the artistic official video buuuut is soooo damn good - interesting to compare some live and studio edits imho.
And yea I love their presence on stage - that short introvert lady Tatiana stepping on those ego-booster-steps and growling at us ... awww my heart!!! :D
Buuuuuut aside from the mentioned song I'd still recommend those songs again ... just my cents and not of much importance for me what you go for next ...
done! >>> To see a great life performance, many like to go on with "Perennial" life at Wacken 2019 ua-cam.com/video/bxi3i9wzQBk/v-deo.html
    >>> A great glimpse of the versatility of Tatiana's singing and growling can be seen at the "Judgement and Punishment" one-take clip ua-cam.com/video/Q5rg_63Shqg/v-deo.html
    >>> Some outstanding and very deep lyrics - very heartripping as it became even more relevant with the ukraine-war - would be the official video for "Home Back" ua-cam.com/video/0t_I_ghmXIQ/v-deo.html

Assuming you are enjoying Jinjer music I could congrats you with the fact that the band has at least couple of dozens "must see" tracks. And other their tracks are pretty solid as well.
So you'll have an interesting journey.
It'll be a journey to the past (up to the earliest "baby Jinjer" period) and to the future (up to the latest album Wallflowers). Jinjer is 12+ y.o. band actually.
The band evolved all the time but each period (each album) is interesting in it's own way.
Note that this band sounds better live than in studio in most cases. Jinjer is a VERY experienced live band. Years and years of the nonstopping touring (except covid year), hundreds and thousands of concerts.
And yeah, Tatiana has a world class stage presence. She's one of the best front performer (not just a singer) at the metal scene nowadays.

You're on to something, brother. It' is, has, & always will be about the music. Tatiana, six years after the first time that I heard her, and she still makes the hair on my neck stand up. Only Ann Wilson, Linda Ronstadt & Beth Hart could do that to me every time. She's a goddess fronting one of the most talented, humble & hard-working guys in the business. I am always on pins and needles waiting for their next album to drop. Meanwhile, Tatiana is doing some great side gigs backing up or out screaming the lead singer of Lions At the Gate or the brand new P.O.D. song where she just gives her elegant touch on the song. Kinda poppy like most of P.O.D.'s stuff but I think it works.

They do sound really good live, shes got a really strong voice and can project it really hard, far, and loud! A lot of bands you see live their voices may be good but they seem soo low or soft or something this women has a lot of rich strength in hers. Great video, and I love seeing you react to LIVE songs, it is a big factor with myself if I even bother to get into a band or not. If they dont sound good live then to me their like fake or something, like in the studio they have to much help and therefore the music's not pure or something. Another great video Mr.Choppy Drops!

Loved the reaction, but don't be fooled by the quality. Some videos have better isolation than others, and some venues had massive sound issues. If you go off the recommended live videos, you may get trash. They are better live, but venues matter.
    Great reaction!

To find Jinjer in the ocean of great music we have available to us today is like winning the lottery. Fortunately that ocean is throwing it in our faces. :P
I haven't checked, but if you haven't found Spiritbox yet, you're in for another lottery win. (also female vocals).
And then you need some Orbit Culture in your life. Everyone needs some Orbit Culture in their lives. Get some! :P
    Liked and subbed.
Edit: I see you have found Spiritbox. I'll be watching those in about 1min. lol
Check out Orbit Culture - North Star of Nija (Live in Studio). You won't regret it.

@@sevsimo I love watching ppl discover the great music I've been lucky enough to discover and your reactions are chef's kiss good, because we've all experienced what you're now experiencing, and with jinjer especially, in forty years of listening to metal, I don't think I've ever seen something quite as great. Seems like most of us haven't.
We have now, and it only gets better. 🤘
