I love the simple, hand-drawn diagrams along with the video clips of the arc.
Nice job man! Aluminum is a lot of fun once its dialed in. With aluminum you want to use a push angle. This will clean your weld up considerably. The push angle helps with gas coverage to keep your weld puddle free of atmosphere. YesWelder puts out some nice machines 👍
Why didn't you try and use the internal spool function to show how it worked??
I just got this myself and so far so good well the one with the plasma cutter
Thanks for the review. Aluminum is one of the harder metals to weld especially for people that are comfortable with steel. Aluminum mig gets pushed, not pulled and you'll "stack dimes" like a professional. Love watching your video and will be subscribed after this comment. 👍
That's pretty bad ass Robbie!
I'm looking to use this welder on 120v 15/20amp outlet. Is this what your using for power here? Can you demonstrate this low power on this welder?
Hey bud you have to push weld aluminum. I’m a aluminum mig welder by trade. You Shouldn’t pull your gun on aluminum. Creates poor penetration and ver bad gas coverage where you get porosity in your welds. No offence but for a guy with a utube channel your giving bad advice lol.
Can you pulse on regular steel also? I want to mig old japanese metal.
Does this 211p model weld standard flux core??? i Didnt notice a way to select none gas method on the menu in your video or anybody else's reviews of this. i emailed and called the yeswelder company and the email and on phone said that it doesnt weld flux core, only gas mig steel, ss, aluminum. why does it have 3 drive rollers than, the u, v, and w which i thought was fcaw wire roller. Please let me know
How's that XJ coming along? Been really studying your guys videos here lately, as I'm about to kick off my own 05SD XJ build. Running many of the same setups in my build that you are. Tons,40s, coilovers in rear, coils in front, Barnes4x4 high steer arms, Barnes4x4 truss SD XJ truss, TMR truss, dual ox locked, 5:38 gears, comp cut rear, sliders, on board fuel cell. Between muddy beards and FM jeeping, your guys content has been super helpful, as this is my first ever build and I'm jumping in head first. Keep up the awesome content bud!
I will be working on it this winter. Come hell or high water I will have it done by next summer
@@MuddyBeards4X4 Great to hear and I hope you do! Looking forward to that walk-around video, Robby. It's also concerning lol. I may be dreaming about my timeline, but I'm really hoping to be able to do this swap in the next two to three months. It's taken me a year to a mass the part's, I'm down to control arms and driveshafts is all I need to order still. But the work is just now beginning, just started stripping down the axles this week. A ton of work I know, I'm gonna do my best to learn this editing process and begin uploading some video's soon.
Can this welder weld flux core
you still liking the welder after a few months? have to tried 1/4'' aluminum yet?
I would like to have seen your settings
Honestly, if you are good at brazing, you could be decent at tig welding. The hard part is getting use to using hand/eye/foot all together in unison. Once you get that down it is just like all other forms of welding. Practice, practice, practice will get you better and more comfortable with it.
It kinda sounds like a long fart that's the first thing that I thought about when I heard the pulse setting.
This is pretty cool though I want to try a spool gun on my miller machine it has settings for aluminum. Aluminum has always been something I've been hesitant to weld but I could make so much cool stuff if I could weld aluminum. I'm really picky too and want it to look nice though. That was a cool comparison when you started on the normal settings then did the same weld on the pulse setting that's a pretty big difference just by changing a setting
I have seen some stuff online with amazing results using the pulse setting. Crazy good looking welds for MIG with aluminum
Aluminum Welding is a challenge, but considering my lack of experience these welds turned out pretty good for a MIG machine. I need some more time under the hood experimenting with this double pulse process to get better looking welds, but let me know what you think about this setting. Could this be something you could use in your home shop?
Can the machine use er5554 wire like ford requires. The manual does not mention this wire.
it is better to push than pull when welding aluminum
High frequency
I just got this welder. with no manual or door quick reference chart. they told me they cannot send me a manual, and to download it. well, dang... 40 pages of leaflet paper flying around... dumb
Can you mig weld gasless with that welder. Or is it gas only?
I believe that gasless is inverted polarity, but not 100% sure.
U can do Flux weld too
It looks like the Maximilian robot from the black hole
Lol. I do like the black and red better then the pastel blue and green they normally use
how about an update on this machine?
Just used it yesterday. I haven't done much if any aluminum. I usually only use the mig function with steel. But I still really like it
thanks for the update@@MuddyBeards4X4
Yes 🥰🥰😅🥰
You need to watch some UA-cam videos on how to weld Alum before you make a video on how to weld Alum.
Fuck spool guns , the whole idea of this was to use your mig torch .
What would you recommend for a beginner welder. I want a simple welder.
I honestly think the yes welders are great budget machines. I would totally recommend getting a bottle for your MIG process. Flux core is cheap but challenging
