After selling my Vulcan MigMax 215, (watta beast that was,,, I abused that thing maxed out for months, it never blinked) I purchased one of these Yes machines specifically for the purpose of welding sheet steel custom body panels and intending to make use of the pulse functions. I weld mostly with 023 when doing this so the first thing I did was to load a 10lb spool of 023 and installed the 0.6mm driver roll. Set the machine at the recommended settings for 20-ga, 100% Co2, 15v 40A on synergic. Then attached the ground clamp and attempted to weld with a new 023 tip installed on the gun. (YesWelder did not provide an 023 tip in the package, so I used one of the common copper 023 tips available everywhere) Even with the wire drive roller clamp fully tightened, the drive roll slipped on the wire every time I tried to weld. The small wire stuck inside the 023 tip every time it had to carry current. My first attempt cause me to pull out 10' of wire for a looksee. The entire 10 feet that was inside the liner had bend waves, as though it was behaving like a spring, coiling up, then recoiling back to length. Never saw a weld wire do that before today.
    .
Possibly, it is my lack of knowledge of how to set up their machine. 023 can be a pain if the liner is filthy. In this case, the liner and the rest, are all new. I am in contact with the Yes people to figure out watzUp.
    .
Needing desperately to doo do some down and filthy welding, I loaded a 10lb spool of 045 and adjusted the settings accordingly maxed out at 200 amps as I was welding 1/2 steel as I commonly do. There were no hiccups with the 045, that's for sure; the machine plowed into the thick steel seemingly better than did the Vulcan, and all while using synergic settings for 035 and the U-09 drive roller that facilitated the use of the larger 045 wire.
There is a big difference between the Vulcan and this Yes thingee. This, Yeseree, clearly trounced the Vulcan in its synergic settings, producing very little spatter compared to the Vulcan which consistently blasted great balls of fire to all sides, leaving the surrounding surfaces a mess.
    .
On the surface, compared to the Vulcan, the materials used to make the electrical mechanism get the job done, are on the cheesy side. For example, the ground clamp copper fabric that electrically ties the two sides of the clamp together is not spot welded to the other half of the clamp. Because of that, the fabric dislodged from under its clamp, leaving it dangling between the two halves of the clamp.
    .
The drive roller clamp mechanism is stamped folded steel, compared to the fully cast parts used on the Vulcan.
    .
The gun is fine. Took me about 10 min to get accustomed to the double trigger function, but now I love it. No need to squeezy the trig all the time.
I kinda do'nt think the clear plastic cover is going to last in my environs; soo much scheight fly'n round ya know.
    .
It may be the machine needs a dual drive roller assemble before the 023 will pass properly,,, who knows??
    .
With all the stuff attached, the Yes machine is significantly lighter than the Vulcan.
    I love that part :)
You should see the Miller beast I used to tote around to the jobs back 30+ years ago.

I'm just looking at this welder for the first time. I have a Lincoln 255 that's note portable. I'm curious if you soled the .023 problem? It occurred to me that you have the drive rolls too tight. When it pinches too tight, it can warp the wire. Anyway good luck.

A word of advice - lately, at least on Facebook and Tik Tok, a similar welder is advertised for a somewhat lower "Christmas Special" price. Upon arrival, the package contained a toy plastic typewriter, about 2" x 1 1/2" x 1 1/4". The response from the seller when they replied to my email was - "Shipping screwed up, we're offering a 60% refund and you may keep the item!" Such a generous offer! Please let me be clear - at NO TIME is the "YESWELDER" REFERRED TO BY NAME. It does however have the same appearance and offers similar features. I simply don't want to hear of anybody else being taken as I was. There are similar ads for "deals" on "Laser Rust Removal" tools and a "Laser Etcher/Cutter
Even if I only keep just ONE more person from being taken in, I'll be happy! This senior wishes he learned THIS way rather than the HARD WAY!
Remember guys, "Let the buyer BEWARE!""

Reason why you haven't seen the ceramic diffuser on any of the mig torches most companies cheap out and use the ak15 mig torches on their machines which are 150 amp mig guns. It's actually quite impressing that yes welder actually upgraded to the MB-35 benzel Meg gun which has a heavy duty tips ceramic diffuser and also has a better nozzle and it feels better in the hand. My cheap MIG welder that I have that was the first thing I did was throw away that ak-15 mig gun and ordered an mb-35 benzel mig gun from China. But keep up the good work keep up the great videos looking forward to seeing more of you welding on the aluminum boat. Hopefully you'll be using that new yes welder 211p w/ double pulse....

I just got one of these and can't figure a few things out: 1) On the display, the far right column, does that refer to gas type as you say in the video, or does it refer to wire material type? 2) I believe it is a wire speed adjustment (mine didn't come with a chart), but I am wondering how to adjust for material thickness in MIG "Syn" mode? 3) Is there a way to change the units from metric to imperial? Where have I seen a MIG weld like that on 1/16" aluminum? The HTP Pro Pulse MIG welders have been doing that and even better since about 2015-2016. They have a Precision-Aluminum-Weld Program that can weld down to 0.030" thick aluminum without needing to use a spoolgun. It uses an 8ft long aluminum dedicated MIG gun with a carbon-graphite liner.
