You can control the bass with the apps EQ function. There's high, mids and lows. The lows is the bass (the slider on the left).

Bought this speaker at costco. Best purchase I made in a long time. It gets loud! Turn on the boom for more base. I ran this radio for 10hrs straight! No issues with battery life. It was the life of the party.

Battery life geyt bad with ion speakers, the battery goes bad after about 6 months. Will have to use the cord more at that time. It's still a good value for the price
@@lilcourtny08 is that with regular use? That seems super short. Did you keep it connected to the charger when not in use by chance? If this happens to me will be returned to Costco as I expect several years of use of this.
@@allaboutroofing2 not even regular use, just occasionally use. The battery dies on ion speakers fast. You will have to use the cord eventually
@@lilcourtny08 I've heard that sometimes if you leave the charger plugged into them it can burn them up or something... Did you store it plugged into the wall or just charged up? Thanks btw
bought this specifically for drive in movies. Needless to say, it was a hit. Sounded like a movie theater. Also, the port on top is actually your fast charger since it runs ar 2.2 amps, and the front port only runs at 1 amp. You are correct in the fact that the front one is usb 3.0, but that only applies to data transfers. You would want to use a small USB with preloaded music on that front port to take advantage of the USB 3.0. Still having trouble with connecting Bluetooth though, even with the app.
FYI - Dat BASS control you're looking for is the "LOW" slider on your EQ settings.

I just got The JBL Party Box On The Go and I'm visually impaired so, where are the EQ settings on this thang, are they controled by an app on the Iphone or are they on the speaker and I haven't figured that out yet? I love the base booster on this. I think though, those nobs on top of the speaker should've controled the music like they control the DJ controls. They make mistakes when they make these speakers on purpose so they can slowly upgrade every year so they can make some money. Anyhoo, let me know where the slider is.

On the EQ, the "Low" slider on the left would add bass. And yes, "boom" typically refers to bass.

Once fully charged the battery life is 100 hours. The manual said 10 hours to charge but I’m guessing from 0 battery life.
Mine has been charging for a couple days and still not fully charged. I may have gotten a defective one

I Love this speaker but how comes it has no jack for mic?
One thing you should like to know, you CAN control the bass. When you hit EQ, you first get, High, Low, but when you get to either of those, turn the knob to turn the high/low up. ;)
Also, the stronger charger is actually in the waterproof container (says the manual).

Wow this thing sounds awesome with the Adjustable EQ on the Ion app! My cousin has the older model Pathfinder and he says he hardly charges the battery. We’ll see. I like my shit loud! 😂
I have this speaker, I like to control the base as well but with this thing I don’t see a necessity for a precise control. They probably left that out because if you turn the space up too loud you’re gonna blow the damn speakers out obviously

Also to add , if the high frequency is turned up too high, it can be annoying to sensitive ears.... That's why the dog was getting upset because they can hear higher frequencies than we can.

You would think someone doing a speaker review would understand it. USB 3.0 is faster than 2.0 for data transfers, but 2.2 Amps will always charge faster than 1.0 Amps if they're both held at 5V. Also, at 12:19, you say it's an auxiliary input and then state that you can plug headphones into it. Is it line in or line out? Can't have it both ways.

Great Review, But can you keep the LED light on only one color instead of all teh random colors?
You said there is an upgraded model, but that model with wireless charging is actually older and doesn't have the additional speakers on the side. This model is superior IMO since it maintains water resistance while charging as well.
Could you use a USB drive to play music in case if you don't want to play UA-cam or Spotify
you actually do have control over the bass... it was the low frequency on the EQ....LOL
Mid high and low,the low is the control for the BASS !!.. mid ,is for midrange, and high is for treble
The test was great, but you actually do have control over the bass by adjusting the low frequency in the app equalizer all your bass sound is coming from low frequency. .... The then you have the Boom feature to add that extra thump

Hi, I have a question. What Ion Audio blue tooth speaker, or any blue tooth speaker can go to 20 hurtz, have a built in EQ, and is not the size of a great big monster? Please let me know. I think I'm looking for a Blue Tooth subwoofer and speaker all in one and don't know where to find it. In 1990, I had me a JVC BoomBox. That thing rocked my room, especially when I had the Equalizer and base at full power. Pluss, the speakers on that boombox for what they could do, they were surprisingly small. It seems like they should have a speaker with deep powerful base, Equalizer, and not the size of a monster since we don't need cassette, CD or record player any more unless we want one. What would you recomend, I just want my room to rock again like it did in 1990 before the damn cassette player broke.

@@alphaomegagz4700 This is incorrect. Everything happens through bluetooth. If you have the app already downloaded and music on your phone, no data is required. You can also use this without the app, that just makes it simpler

Do you have a static noise issue? When I connect it through Bluetooth or aux port and I pause my music it makes a static noise for 4 seconds and then stops. That happens every time I press pause.

The 280 is pretty amazing in sound quality.... The only caveat I've experienced with it is in different locations it's been placed, the Bluetooth glitches out even when the phone is only a couple feet away. I've tried turning off the LINK button to troubleshoot the issue, but it only marginally improves the signal, but still pretty bad.
