  • The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy received a radar-evading warship, speedboats and corvettes equipped with a range of missiles in a ceremony at Iran’s southern port city of Bandar Abbas on Saturday.
In comments at the event, IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admiral Ali Reza Tangsiri said the warship has a naval endurance of 14 days and can cruise within a radius of 2,000 nautical miles by evading the enemy’s radar detection.
Powered by 4 propulsive engines, the Abu Mahdi warship can stay afloat under Sea Force Six conditions and carry out naval missions under Force Five conditions thanks to its advanced homegrown hull design, the commander said.
The commander said three domestic knowledge-based companies are making vessels for the IRGC Navy, noting that it took 15 months to manufacture the Abu Mahdi warship. The IRGC will be able to manufacture three warships of the same class in less than a year, Tangsiri stated.
The other vessels that came into service on Saturday include the Tareq-class and Ashura-class boats have been armed with Kowsar missiles.
So far, the Tareq-class boats fired only rockets, but now they have been equipped with missiles with a range of 180 kilometers, he stated.
The commander noted that the Kowsar missiles mounted on the Ashura vessels have been paired with 3-D radars that can detect and shoot down hostile planes, helicopters and cruise missiles at high altitudes.
The IRGC Navy also took delivery of new reconnaissance vessels as well as speedboats and torpedo-dropping vessels on Saturday, he stated.

The design is very futuristic and its size and height are very appropriate for future comprehensive upgrading programs .
Only the missile pods are not considered modern, even though they are very practical in terms of ease of reloading ,It is enough to replace the pod or feeding the missile into the pod that is easily accessible, but having vertical launching systems would have been an qualitative addition, these VLS would have given the missile boat the ability to engage simultaneously a set of various threats in different directions and of a different nature naval targets or air targets and those capabilities consider as force multiplayer to any weapon system like this class of missile boat...
Our best wishes to Our Iranian brothers ...

@@sourenasahraian2055 ok , I noticed even the Chinese and DPRK did not employed VLS systems for their missile boats and the three nations utilizing the same missile c802/YJ83 ASM for their missile boats , generally I think packing medium size speed boat with VLS will give it the extra tactical flexibility to conduct wide range of tasks , theoretically with 180 km to 220 km range this will put the launching platform at safe distances from enemy fires thus it could launch its missile sideways toward the enemy vessels , although some of the new generation ASM out range the C802/ noor ASM, while the Iranian Qader version have a range of 300 km but we assume that not all the attack vessels will be equipped with this model and it will take some time to upgrade and develop Iran's stock from Noor missiles to the Qader version same story for updating their older inventory of early generation C801/C802/Noor ASM to the Specifications and characteristics of the latest generations of the Noor missile, this if they are going to take this approach in the first place ...
I think developing the aim54 Phoenix missile into the ASM It was more suitable especially for fast missile boats ...
the weight of the Noor missile ranging from 600 kg to 800 kg sources differ here, with a warhead ranging between 190 kg and 165 kg depending on the version and the range of the missile, and the range varying from 30 km to 220 km depends on the model and generation, the speed is 0.9 mach to 1.4 mach in terminal phase .
while the weight of the Phoenix is 450 kg, with 60 kg weight of the warhead, and has a range of 135 km for the A/B version used by Iran.
the speed 4.3 mach in all phases ...
there is a 300 kg difference in weight in favor of the latter and 130 kg of useful combat weight in favor of the ASM.
the aim54 Phoenix missile was designed in the 1960s and was built with industrial materials, electronic and electrical components dating back to the seventies of the last century, there is maybe 200 kg of excess weight if they used industrial materials and electronic and electrical components from the current era, such as microprocessors, electronic chips, semi conductors and other elements of the microtechnology,
so with weight ranging from 600kg to 800 kg for most ASM there is huge room to come up with a model of anti-ship missiles ASM derived from or developed on the basis of Iranian used aim54 Phoenix missile to equipping attack vessels especially the fast missile boats ...
