It is a treat really, that we can still see/hear Priest live. When you factor in Rob's age, it is frankly amazing. Bless him for still delivering for us, particularly those of us who having been listening since 1980 (me, when I was 9 years old), or earlier.
@@railander Oh don't get me wrong I'm not complaining about helium voice. I think it's very funny and appreciate the humor in it. Rob is sounding better than in Powertrip last year. The fact that he's singing this well at his 70s is absolutely insane, I can't recall another metal vocalist doing it like this at Rob's age. Incredible
He sounds like shit imo. Dio was 68 in 2010 and he sounded much, much, muuuch better. King Diamond is 67 and still he sounds pretty good. Joe Lynn Turner is the same age as Rob and he is much better live. Halford sounds incredible due to studio magic, but his live performances are weak af.

I didn't think that a lot of the fans get that one of the primary things Priest is still doing shows for, is to showcase and honor Glenn in one way or another... Which i think it awesome, and it shows their love and respect for him.
Yeah, you have to do that especially at that age. I remember talking to Ralf Scheepers before a show once and I was wondering why he was whispering lol.
my 1st Judas Priest concert was the Painkiller tour, i have quite a fair few bits of memorabilia from that tour, a copied signed print merry Christmas Painkiller poster, tour book, magazine cut out, painkiller kicks ass 🤘
GREAT JOB ALL...THANX 4 MAKING Tee with LIONS NAMED LEO the music worldwide. LOVE YOU ALL...!!!....MUCH LOVE.!! AND ALSO THIS IN MAC TODAY [[ music appreciation class]]
My first Judas Priest Concert was 1979 in Essen, Germany as the support Act for AC/DC. To that time i already knew them from the records. They have always been my No.1 Metal Band - and it will go on. Unfortunately i have no chance to see them live (anymore?) since i live in China for more than 12 years..or...the Priest might come here to play Gigs.
They finally lowered the key. Amazing that Rob still sang it in the original key and held his own for so long. He completely outdid even his younger self in the studio that day.
I don't think it's all on KK. Yes, he's said some stuff, but I think a lot of it is directed at their manager, Jane. I mean, she said KK looked outta place n that he didn't have it anymore, after he played the RNRHOF
While it'd be great to see KK link up with Priest again, I really like his current band that he has with Ripper Owens! Both of those albums KK's Priest put out are great!
Richie is a truly phenomenal guitarist and Andy Sneap too who I've followed since his days in Sabbat. I will neve get used to not seeing KK and Glenn with the band. Their chemistry was the beating heart of the bamd. Still love priest and always will there's just aome magic not there anymore without the originals's twin guitar attack.
They still sound great even though I miss KK’s and Glen’s dueling riffs. Faulkner is clearly the star now while Sneap just sort of fills the rest out. Hats off to Halford!! 👍
I wasn't sure if I want to see them or not on this tour because of Rob's age, no hesitation after this... His vocal is not great by any means but definitely a lot better than I expected.
I mean, for 72, almost 73 he's doing just fine. And you're right, I've watched recordings of it from the early 90s and even then, it wasn't exactly like the record version. Although if you want to see peak performances of this song, I'd suggest looking up performances from the 2015 tour. Rob was absolutely on fire that tour.
@@JacobsKrąnųg I mean, this stuff is subjective like anything else. Saying he sounds like “shit” I think is being disingenuous. He certainly doesn’t sound exactly like the recording and is clearly taking short cuts, but he sounds perfectly fine considering his age, at least IMO. Now, if you want to hear someone that sounds like actual shit go listen to Vince Neil blabbering his way through Kick Start My Heart at any recent concert. It’ll make Robs performance here sound downright amazing.
Rob looked knackered throughout this concert. I don't see why they don't just call it a day. They've nothing to prove. Rob can't sing Painkiller anymore. His voice is gone. He should sing at a lower level. Big changes since KK left and Glens Parkinsons diagnosis. The energy is gone Rob seems bored or tired.

Nothing off! Richie Faulkner is a metal God. Ian Hill a Beast. Glen Tipton- Twin Attack Monster. Then we have Halford. The best frontman who actually sings ever. The best Priest album for me will always be Screaming for Vengeance. The best Priest song however is Painkiller in the midst of Grunge. Ugghhh! The Best Cocktail Ever - The Painkiller - appropriately from The Soggy Dollar Bar from The British Virgin Islands but F$&k Pussers Rum!
As much as I LOVE this song, Rob really hasn't been able to do it justice for a long time. It's the one song that just has way too many high notes. I think it's time to drop it in favor of something else from the album, like All Guns Blazing.
This had to go down as the worst sounding gig I have ever been to, the sound was absolutely garbage where I was. Just awful - we left early and by the looks of this it didn’t improve.
Absolutely, I came on here to see if anyone else had the same experience. The sound was so ear-piercingly loud on the vocals and lead guitar. Couldn't even hear the bass. It was so screechy and shrill, absolutely horrible and my ears were aching afterwards. The sound engineer should be sacked! In contrast, Saxon and Uriah Heep sounded excellent!
@@rmca11 I fully agree. It was shit even through my ear protection. I took my daughter out after a while. We got so exhausted of the awful singing and sound.
