    *There's no hard feelings surrounding the small section where Montana misgendered me. I've recently (within a year) been realizing my nonbinary aspect of self, and even alters can have trouble remembering pronoun changes sometimes - Silver :)

    I’ve never heard the term “a AAA battery” before I reference to agender ace aro people. That’s so funny. I love it

    I didn't realize that OSDD had 4 different types, I thought it was just 2. Could you explain all the different types of OSDD, so I can be a little bit more enlightened and supportive of others that I may encounter in the future?

      -1: -1a and -1b, have alters!
      -2: Prolonged changes or questions of their identity, usually due to ritual abuse/brainwashing
      -3: Very acute, short term bouts of DPDR and dissociation
      -4: Prolonged Dissociative trance
      hope that helps! :)

    Oh hey a shout-out! Thanks for answering our questions! It was also nice to get to see Montana after hearing so much about her (I can definitely hear that she holds her throat different, just in how she speaks)

    Thank you so much Montana for answering my question with a lot of detail. It means a lot to me! It helps me to understand my system better. I am the long term host in our system and our primary protector usually takes painful memories from me so that I can continue acting as a healthy host. Love getting to know your system a bit more. Thanks love! -Kailyn, Oak Leaf Tribe

    You have a great teaching style and convey information about a complicated subject in a very direct and cogent way. I would appreciate you just for that, but when I factor in that it's intensely personal and vulnerable, my respect is immense. Thank you for sharing your info. My best regards to all.

    I don't have a bunch of access to the headspace.
    Also, I respect that you want to keep your little safe. If you ever decide to let tour little make a video my littles will be over the moon to watch it.
    So, let ypur little know that there are other littles who say hello and are waving.
    Thanks

    I love this angle! I get to see all your cute plants!
    I also wanted to thank your amazing system. Your channel has really helped me. I've been trying to explain my symptoms to my therapist because the DID stuff wasn't quite it for me... and your OSDD channel has REALLY helped me explain things to her in ways that might make sense.
    I'm usually bad at wording things so you explaining it, because I barely understand it. Your channel has helped me actually understand what's happening to me helps me explain it better in return. Your system is amazing.

    I think I'm autistic too, I have a lot of trouble figuring out what I'm feeling and why, emotional blindness. Do you have any advice for differentiating alexithymia from emotional amnesia?

    • @TheRingsSystem
      @TheRingsSystem  4 роки тому +4

      Emotional amnesia will feel like it's "not you" or "someone else" who experienced those emotions looking back. But in the moment, those emotions were experienced and strong - it was just someone else who was experiencing them! :)

    Can you make a video on your innerworld.. The black blank space u mentioned? I found that very interesting because i personally am not diagnosed, but when i had my first communication with another part i noticed the voice was coming from what looked like a reddish light kind of like that of the surrounding outter light of a lit candle in a black space.

    I understand the whole not remembering anything about your childhood thing, and I gotta tell you that the "permanent record" that teachers would threaten to put stuff on back in school is actually a real thing despite what you might have heard. If you have your ID you can go to your old school and request a copy of your permanent record from your files. It will have all the stuff like school counselor notes all the way back to kindergarten and stuff about any IEP you might have been on.
    It was really eye opening for me when I got the chance to read through the permanent record and really helped me accept a lot of things/

    Oh and also, I'm constantly forgetting about where I've placed things, what I'm doing, why I came downstairs for whatever, why I opened my phone, where I put my keys, where I put that thing I was holding onto literally two seconds ago, so on. I know you say you're generally very forgetful.. idk I'm self dxed with autism but on a waitlist, how were you able to differentiate your symptoms? Because I feel like there's quite a bit of overlap, especially in regards to usual traumatic responses like difficulties maintaining relationships or tendencies towards self isolation, or like I said difficulty understanding your feelings (I think).

    • @TheRingsSystem
      @TheRingsSystem  4 роки тому +4

      Differentiating the Autism vs the OSDD was pretty hard in terms of memory - but often, the general periods of dissociation helped with that. autistic folks don't experience dissociation the same way those with dissociative disorders do! Also, there's a HUGE overlap when it comes to Autiam and DID/OSDD - there's so many autistic systems out there :)
      We recommend our OSDD vs DPDR video :)

    Is there an alter that identifies as the one with the body the most? Like has the body's name and identifies with the looks of the body, like Wyn from the Entropy System, for example.

    • @TheRingsSystem
      @TheRingsSystem  5 років тому +9

      None of us hold the body's name (but I will soon haha it's hopefully going to be legally changed in the next couple years).
      I guess the answer would be me but not because... I identify most with the body? I just happen to front the most because I'm host, and that probably won't change anytime soon - so if there's large decisions that would make me feel more comfortable that doesn't largely impact other alters (name change, hair length, ect) I usually get the green light

      Quick add on from Jessica, some alters can take memories from others. That's how I was formed, by Andrea (then later Maya and Ashley) casting off their painful memories into my being

  • @twinstarssystem2857
    @twinstarssystem2857 3 роки тому +3

    "When I get stressed I tend to front a lot."
    I THOUGHT WE WERE ALONE
    We didn't even know we *could* switch for a long time because we've been under almost constant stress, and in addition to that we're a small system that at the time was composed of just Moon and I, and Moon isn't super fond of fronting, except to talk to her friends or when I cannot handle it and intentionally use positive triggers to help her. When we're under stress, it's almost impossible to switch, and I have a habit of clinging to front. We did intentionally learn to use positive triggers to help Moon front when I can't handle things, but that doesn't always work, and if we're experiencing any sort of physical pain whatsoever it's actually impossible for some reason.
    so yeah, it's nice to hear that we're not alone in that, it's a huge part of The Doubt(TM)

    im not sure if this was covered before but i was curious about your system, does other alters in your system feel very uncomfortable with the body as if its not how it "should be"? I host frequently and identify well with the body so I dont have this issue but other alters are avoidant of mirrors and feel like the body's face/hair/general shape is 'off or wrong.' Is this very common with other systems?

    • @TheRingsSystem
      @TheRingsSystem  4 роки тому +2

      Some of us do! It’s very common in systems, and is often referred to as body dysphoria

    Is it okay for me to makea story with a character that has DID but i personally dont have it and i wouldnt want to offend people who do so in your opinion is it offensive ? Also how do you talk to other alter when another alter is front? For example if Silver is front can they talk to other alter and if so do they talk out loud or talk in the there head? Also visual how dose the headspace feel like? Real or like a dream? If any of you answer any of these questions thank you so much for making this way much understandable! :)

    • @TheRingsSystem
      @TheRingsSystem  5 років тому +8

      Just like writing any other minority group, it's not offensive in itself to write diverse pieces with people of many backgrounds, including DID/OSDD - but the thing is, just like any minority group, you have to be careful to avoid harmful stereotypes or it will become offensive. And of everything, DID/OSDD is very, very complicated and hard to get correct - you'd have to do a lot of research and probably get a sensitivity reading/conversation about your ideas and portrayal of the character.
      2. Yes we can communicate between ourselves and it's internal, and the headspace feels like neither of those things to us but leaning closer to reality.
      hope that helps :)

      The Rings System Thank you so much! I will definitely now do more research ive started taking notes and im making it my goal for my story to avoid it being a Split 2.0 i wanna shine the light on DID/OSDD since it is so misunderstood and do some actual research. Your channel and many others really help explain this and how it works even tho its a sensitive topic for them i really thank you guys for this help! :D
