Love the comment about the drawback of Path to Exile and the decision to play some Dismembers. Giving your opponent free lands is a not a trivial matter.
I'm guessing Windswept Heath entering modern would make this deck even slightly better than it already is, and aside from the landbase, Kor Spiritdancer and Daybreak Corronet, this seems pretty affordable.
Lee Sin, the Blind Monk same for legacy and I guess vintage if you count moxen/lotus as must-haves similar to lands but yeah I agree. Hopefully if a MM2 happens horizon canopy will happen again and the recent printing of the onslaught fetches into modern will make this deck stronger.
dont forget the leyline :) the leyline is the key sideboard card in this deck. reid says itself. "leyline is my best sideboardcard" and it cost as much as the coronet :/ i am playing this deck aswell . i am just missing 3 leylines :)
Love that Duke decided to not choose a "safe" deck like Jund (or in this case Rock which CFB guys are playing which is basically Jund anyway) or UWR. It's a gamble, but I think it's safe to assume no one will expect anyone else in this field to play this deck, so it's very likely you will dodge the very specific hate you would find on MTGO like back to nature/tempest of light as jakfrost2 mentioned. Great metagame call.
if you blow the ratchet bomb on one, then it would apply a destroy effect to all the permanents of 1, since the creature has the totem ability when the destroy is applied, the totem would take the blow, and the creature would stay.
Raging Hellhound The point is to have the creature summoned on Turn 1. Bringing Sigarda (With no guarantee of having her in the opening hand) past turn 5 is too slow for the purpose of this deck.
Seems like a fun and powerful deck, it's kinda funny that the lands are worth almost three times what the rest of the deck and sideboard are worth though.
Dean1234563 It's to thin out the deck, you're basically making your deck 1 card smaller, this decreases the chance to draw cards the more fetches you crack. Which is good if you're playing aggro and already have enough land. Oops, wrong comment.
Eric Cartman Maybe Silhana Ledgewalker. If you're looking for a creature that gives card advantage, Heliod's Pilgrim might work but it's costs 3 so it's kinda slow.
It has...a lot... It has mainboard Path to Exile, plus the addition of Gryff's Boon, Open the Armory, Spirit Mantle, and Spirit Link. It has also dropped Keen Sense (most have, not all). Now if you consider Aura Swap to be a Bogles variant, then the deck has changed a LOT. However, they're different enough that I feel that they don't fall under the same archetype.

This comment is said on every video of him, it's getting old. Despite sounding just like Christian Bale I actually think he looks more like Daniel Day Lewis anyway :P
Reid's got a much deeper voice than I thought he'd have.
Sweet deck!
I love seeing decks that goes out of the ordinary.

Love this deck. Awesome player!
I love this deck.... seems very powerful.

The land base will always be expensive in modern.

THE BATLORD Let's just go with mana base is always expensive?
dont forget the leyline :)

I did make a budget version for under 50$. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks, that's what i thought would happen just wanted to make sure.
Yep. Reid Duke is a badass.
i miss when magic was like this
I love this deck!

im making this!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE GREENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

look it up in another tab while he is talking about it?
I'm surprised he didn't run sigarda, host to heronss, its one of the best G/W creature to enchant, and it already has hexproof
Raging Hellhound The point is to have the creature summoned on Turn 1. Bringing Sigarda (With no guarantee of having her in the opening hand) past turn 5 is too slow for the purpose of this deck.
Wtf haahahaha
If this deck becomes popular, time to find room for Teferi's Moat on URW,
yes... yes he does...
how would that stack with the totem armors? would it blow them up and the creature or just them.
Seems like a fun and powerful deck, it's kinda funny that the lands are worth almost three times what the rest of the deck and sideboard are worth though.
Why am I watching this in 2045
that's a cool deck
Reid Duke is great
back to nature/tempest of light seem pretty good
May i just say fail "so a bant deck?" "No its selesnya" (at the end) "well thats reid dukes bant hexproof deck" fml
I guess it's technically Bant due to Misty Rainforest and Slippery Bogle but I agree with you on this one.
Anyone know why he is playing GW instead of straight bant with Geist?
Nasty deck
Can you fetch dryad arbor with a card that says get basic land for example evolving wilds?
nope
Dean1234563 It's to thin out the deck, you're basically making your deck 1 card smaller, this decreases the chance to draw cards the more fetches you crack. Which is good if you're playing aggro and already have enough land. Oops, wrong comment.
Just search them on the Gatherer if you already don't know them.
Well, Teferi's Moat may be useful against other decks too.
Just got top 8 at an rcq playing boggles
An invisible stalker in this deck would be absolutely ridiculous
Dean1234563 It is vurnerable against spell pierce and remand though.
Spell pierce is only for non creature spells
Dean1234563 requires splashing for blue though for a more inconsistent mana base
+Dean1234563 I'll prefer Silhana Ledgewalker if what you want is a 1/1 hexproof creature with evasion. That way you won't need to touch the mana base.
nah, invisible stalker's unblockable isn't that valuable here. trample+lifelink with a more consistent mana base is preferable.
mad cool
Any alternatives to kor spiritdancer?
Eric Cartman Maybe Silhana Ledgewalker. If you're looking for a creature that gives card advantage, Heliod's Pilgrim might work but it's costs 3 so it's kinda slow.
Eric Cartman Mesa Enchantress. But it is strictly worse
Eric Cartman Today we have Sram, Senior Edificer
I like how this deck hasn't changed basically at all, btw i'm not being sarcastic.
PalPlays Most of that has changed after i posted this.
Luca Scanu Yeah, I'm just leaving this for anyone who reads it after and takes it to heart.
PalPlays and ley lines
The only weakness of this deck I can think of is Hallowed Burial, but it costs 5 mana.
Tell that to the guy who made Ancestral Mask.
If you close your eyes and just listen to this guy talk he sounds like Christian Bale
The comments from 7 year ago praising the deck... Little they knew that, yes, it is good... but also evil...
Why is he running misty rainforest if he doesnt plays blue
pmjhofer It's to thin out the deck, you're basically making your deck 1 card smaller, this decreases the chance to draw cards the more fetches you crack. Which is good if you're playing aggro and already have enough land.
Windswept Heath (Onslaugh) wasn't legal (too old) and it hasn't been reprinted (Khans of Tarkir = 2014). He had to cope.
I told them ethereal armor was too good for common. I TOLD THEM!
They wanted it to be commonly pulled in packs. Their call was unrelated to power level and more about impacting the quality of it in a draft setting.
This deck would be extremely hard to win against..., or even to kill the creatures...
na you just need an aggro deck such as infect
hmm devour flesh and GG
Forcing the boggles player to sac a creature is good too.
+Joanna Winters - Depends on what you are playing.
Sounds like his too
and sounds like him
This comment is said on every video of him, it's getting old. Despite sounding just like Christian Bale I actually think he looks more like Daniel Day Lewis anyway :P
Can someone tell me why Reid is playing the black/green fetch's instead the green/white fetch's? Was they banned or out of format or something?
They were out of the format back then since onslaught was too old.
Oooooooh, tanks!
Yeah thanks !
This guys name is cool
Why not just Glaring Spotlight...
good question
2020
Not only does he look like Christian Bale, he also sounds like him very much! XD
He is Batman!
And talks like Christian Bale.
4:43
It's a little bit anti-climactic knowing the results of the 2013 modern World Championships. As it usually is, R/U/W. It Was pretty RoUgh Wasn't it.
This dude said fuck it while ironing, ignored the bottom of his shirt.
He reminds me of Patrick Bateman.
why are you standing in front of the card you are talking about!!!!!! so frustrating!
Who knew Bruce Wayne played MTG lol
this guy totally looks like christian bale :D
no one is running it thought
Hey chuck Norris!
Ratchet bomb anyone?
dear lord that deck is mean
HAHAHAHA REID DUKE AN HERO IT
Please stop standing in front of the cards you are talking about. thanks.
