Just woke up on the weekend, have left-over pizza, new Finntrovert video. This is how I shall live my morning. (Is it morning if it is currently 11:55 AM?)
Man I absolutely loved this remake.. for 98% of its run time .. 46 hours in I was obsessed with this game.. rhen.. I got to the final boss level.. and I’ve never felt this way about a game before, I mean the game went from a 9/10 to a 7/10 after that final boss fight.. not only did it take away all the tools u acquired throughout playing, but it puts u in this half breed between cyberspace and regular gameplay thats just boring, frustrating and unnecessarily difficult.. I still haven’t actually finished the game because I can’t bring myself to keep doing that final fight over and over again, it really put a damper on the entire experience for me
@@chrisdiokno5600 It's still very much a good game without prior knowledge of the OG, it just has some design choices that can be "too archaic" for people used to modern AAA game design. In fact, I have recommended this as a good entry point to the franchise to some people.
Pretty fun remake, despite a few minor flaws. Still waiting on that steelcase edition to finally ship a year and a half later though, let's go already Night Dive....
@@2HeadedHero Yeah, I've heard some stuff about that. It's unfortunate that a remake this good is connected with other things people are reasonably not particularly pleased about.
@@TheTouchOfTheVelvetHand It would be cool, but not really feasible with this version. I wonder if someone could make something like that with the Enhanced Edition. I'd play it!
Hey Finn, I've not beaten this game yet... hell I've had some minor issues playing it that ruined my experience (for some reason, all dialogue was muffled on my system and couldn't be heard.. making audio logs and chatter useless) However, is swear I heard Shodan's Dialogue about becoming sentient, and re-examining her priorities on the Medical Floor you start on.
@@marbles8641 There are some audio logs which do snippets of that awakening, but it's nowhere near as powerful as having it as a proper intro sequence.
@@finntrovert Thank you man! I was afraid I was hearing or remembering things wrong! Yea, I lost my way on the Executive/Grove floor and have been trying to find the plot since.. Once again, the audio issue where the sound is incredibly muffled didn't help.
@@marbles8641 Some of the audio mixing is a bit off, but thankfully can be somewhat mitigated with the settings. A thing I should have mentioned. I would recommend keeping master and speech at 100% and lowering sfx and music by 30-ish %. Should make it a bit more balanced.
@@finntrovert Who the fuck would put rum in raisins? That's a crime against all that is alcoholic. I'd rather pick salty caramel, that is at least tasty.
I personally would've wished they'd kept in was it beta version demo that had bit more realistic and non pixelated artstyle without so much bloom. It ended up being ok, but for some reason it's bit off putting for me. Maybe because in release it was very difficult to spot items etc. Issue that was fixed on some later updates. Not perfect game, but very good still. Maybe 8/10 for me. I actually never fully completed the original back in the, but played it roughly halfway. Prey was really good game in veins of System Shock, but to me that was bit ruined by dull enemy design. I still can't fathom why they destroyed awesome Mimic enemy so early on with psychoscope that showed them. It would've been easily best System Shock style for me ever made with better made made enemy designs and kept that suspense of very early Mimic enemies. Unfortunate they made "black mush enemy" version one, two, three etc. without originality. Mooncrash DLC was very original idea though.
@@jorixpalorn3738 That's understandable. Though if you ever decide to retry, if you're not a loot goblin like me, the Executive level has a lot of expensive stuff to recycle without vaporizing, and should be easy and fast enough for a non-achievement hunting casual run.
Why are there so many punctuation errors in the game’s subtitles? Did they not hire a proofreader? Looks so unprofessional, gives the whole game a fan-made vibe

It's an impressive game for only 8 gigabytes too. I'm sure it's pixel style graphics had alot to do with it.
